This week, the guys are talking shop in the sports realm. Don't worry, they're not nerding out about the NBA or NFL; rather, they're discussing playing sports recreationally as adults. Have rec leagues gone the way of the dodo, or are they still a part of the social landscape? Will Josh and Evan tear it up in a pickleball tournament, or is joining a league just too big a commitment these days? Also, if they do decide to suit up and compete, should they get decked out with the best gear, or should they start small with the discount equipment? Find out their thoughts on these questions, and listen in for Fact of the Week and "sticking it to the man" tidbits! And let's see what's coming up on the calendar!
This week, the guys try to figure out when enough is enough. Specifically, they're thinking about houses after Evan had been around some of the biggest houses in town. But there's gotta be such a thing as too much house, right? So, when is enough, enough for both Josh and Evan? Could they use another bedroom or a bigger yard? Or are they good with what they've got? It's an interesting thought as people are always moving their own goalposts, but maybe being happy and content shouldn't be based on a measurement/comparison... The guys also discuss busy schedules, fun times, and mix in some Fact of the Week and "sticking it to the man" tidbits before seeing what's coming on the calendar!
This week, the guys get a little morbid with their discussions. But hey, death is a part of life, and life is funny, so it works! Do the guys think that they'll live to see the year 2100, or will billionaires, AI, and more bring an end to the Earth in the near future? They also discuss their thoughts on modern medicine like GLP-1s, and whether they're good for humanity in the long run. Would either Josh or Evan juice up with some weight-loss drug, or are they wary of the whole thing? Listen in for some fun spins on interesting, dark-ish topics! Plenty of Fact of the Week and "sticking it to the man" tidbits also make appearances, and there are some fun calendar days to review, too!
This week, the guys have weathered a storm and lived to tell the tale! Over a foot of snow and some calamitous cold have led to never-ending snow days, frozen pipes, shoveling soreness, and more. So, who had to find a new place to go to the bathroom before his pipes thawed out? And who had to decipher the social contract that comes with neighborhood snow removal? Listen in to find out these things and much more! Be sure to stick around for Josh's harrowing story about saving a life, and some fun Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and daily calendar tidbits.
This week, the guys have dogs on the brain, and on the podcast! Zoe makes an appearance on Evan's end, while Josh is squeezing in a recording before taking Fitz to the vet. They also discuss the puppy Evan was watching, and how she might chew her way to some new furniture. That leads down a furniture-based rabbit hole, but it's a dog-gone good time. The guys also talk about the newly minted NCAA Football Champions, THEIR Indiana Hoosiers! They both have ink-based memorabilia on the brain, so find out if Evan got tatted up or if Josh is leading the charge. Cold weather also features heavily, and there are Fact of the Week and "sticking it to the man" tidbits mixed in too, even though a "sticking it" staple has fallen!
This week, the guys are prepping for the possibility of history! Indiana is/was on the cusp of a football National Championship, which is a foreign concept for most of human history. However, this year it's a reality, so it needs to be immortalized with permanent bodily ink, right? Evan might be contemplating getting his first tattoo, while Josh is (unsurprisingly) adamantly against it. Evan is busy petsitting once again, so there might be some shenanigans at hand in the background. The guys also discuss Evan's early experiences as a U.S. Census employee, and Josh is interested in how it all works. Classic Fact of the Week and "sticking it to the man" tidbits are ready for listening, and let us know what you'd like to see in place of This Day in Hear-story!
This week, the guys are finally kicking off the new year! Both Josh and Evan are also kicking off a new year for themselves as the birth-month buddies have both bumped up in the age bracket. Josh might've aged out of the "30 Under 30" club, but both guys are still technically in the running for 2026's Time "Man of the Year" award! Both birthday boys discuss some birthday business before breaking down one of Josh's words of the year. So, will he stick to his 'frugal' mantra in 2026? Or has he already redefined it just to mean spending money differently? A true Fact of the Week gets the year off on the right foot, and "sticking it to the man" is still going strong! While the book might shut on This Day in Hear-story, who knows what 2026 will hold!
This week, the guys go over their top stuff from the second half of 2025. With the year winding down, were there any/many things worth recommending to the masses? Both Josh and Evan have at least a few pieces of content on their 'best-of' lists, and they're happy to share. Listen in to find out what some of their favorite movies, shows, books, video games, podcasts, foods, and more were over the back end of the year! The guys also talk a bit about their busy holiday time, and they hope YOU all have a happy holiday season as well! Thanks for listening! And don't worry, there are still Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure.
This week, the guys have a present in store: themselves! After an extended break between episodes, the podcast is BACK! But this episode needs a "Beware of Dog" sign as Evan has a noisy guest to deal with. Since they last recorded, Evan has been to California and back, and Josh has been busy, too. The guys talk about what they've been up to, including some exciting zoo talk that's chock-full of Fact of the Week tidbits. With Christmas quickly approaching, the guys also chat about gifting in what seems like an annual tradition. Do they have some cool experiential ideas on deck this season, or will a good pair of slippers go down as the No. 1 gift? Listen in for "sticking it to the man" and This Day in Hear-story tidbits, and thanks for sticking with us!
This week, the guys discuss the different ways they keep track of their lives. Like most people these days, most of their historic footprint is stored digitally on their phones. So, is that enough, or should they have physical pictures like past generations and keep tangible records like Josh likes to do? Who knows, maybe keeping notes on your phone as Evan does is enough. Plus, who's even going to want to look at your old memories anyway, right? The guys also discuss some holiday happenings, some stellar "sticking it to the man" moments, and more. And don't worry, there are Fact of the Week and This Day in Hear-stroy tidbits too!
This week, the guys have some catching up to do after Josh's California excursion. And funnily enough, it comes just a couple of weeks before Evan heads to California, too! So, how was the podcast's first of two trips out west? Did Josh get screwed by the government shutdown, or was it smooth sailing? The guys also discuss their travel preferences, and they certainly have their differences of opinion. Who likes going to the same place over and over? And who prefers to see and do new things? Find out the answers to these questions and more! Like, which state would be easiest to travel across? And, as always, hear about Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits!
This week, the guys are gabbing about the government shutdown. Josh has a vacation coming up quickly, but there's a chance there won't be any TSA agents available and FAA workers ready to help facilitate a flight! So, will Josh get to California by air, or will he have to hit the road to make it happen? The guys also recap how it was to hang out at each other's houses for the first and last time of the year, and how Halloween went. There's also some social media discussion and other things to chat about, as well as your usual Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits!
This week, the guys are getting geared up for a Halloween party! Evan is hosting the biggest bash since college, and the two of them will finally be hanging out at one of their nearby houses. Josh is still trying to figure out what to wear, though, so can Evan help him out? And will whatever he decides be any scarier than the artificial intelligence problem that is threatening society as we know it?! It's certainly getting scary out there, and it might be too late to go back now. But hey, at least Evan hasn't given in just yet! And as always, there are also Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure.
This week, the guys settle into their usual roles, with Evan getting back into the gig economy and Josh coming up with crazy ideas to try to stay "on brand." Evan is actively recording from a Rover stay, his second dog-watching gig of the day! And it all comes during a week where he got back to donating plasma, reviewed more Five Guys, bought/sold stuff online, and got up to more classic side hustle shenanigans. Josh, on the other hand, is having wild thoughts about uprooting his life and moving on to the Big Apple. Is it a good idea, or is it just something to do to be "on brand?" The guys will dig into that a little now, and more at a later date. And as always, there are Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure!
This week, the guys are having a heck of a Friday as they're recording together in person after teaming up to take on Five Guys. Don't worry, no fisticuffs preceded this episode as they were together taking down Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Still, it's a hefty load to bear! Their lunch date leads to discussions about what lunch looks like for each of them and how often they go to lunch. The guys also have a shared murder mystery experience to discuss, as well as some other exciting happenings. So, did Evan crack the case, or was Josh the man for the job? And what other shenanigans will happen in the middle of their in-person recording? Listen in to find out! And as always, there are Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure.
This week, the guys turn into data analysts who break down their own cellphone usage. We're not just talking a daily or weekly breakdown, the guys are looking at EIGHT YEARS of cellular data! So, what does Evan's data say about him? And how much music does Josh listen to? The guys are certainly intrigued, and hopefully it gets you to check out your data history too! The guys also talk about Evan's big day of "sticking it to the man," some upcoming murder mystery mayhem, and more. And as always, there are Fact of the Week and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure!
This week, the guys try something they've never done before: a live unboxing of a possible "sticking it to the man" haul! Evan just bought a big box of stuff based on one high-value item he could see, but he doesn't really know what other goodies he might find. So, will he uncover some sellable gems? Or is he the proud owner of a hunk of junk? Maybe he can help fund Josh's new blinds since blocking the sun can be blindingly expensive! The guys also recap their weeks, including a raving review of Kokomo, Indiana, and a Homearama hangout. And as always, there are also some Fact of the Week and This Day in Hearstory tidbits mixed in!
This week, the guys have a quick conversation that includes some heavy topics. For starters, Evan's wiener is getting a little too heavy, and he thinks it might be something in the Westfield water. Josh has some similar problems, so they both have thoughts on how to keep the weight off. Oh yeah, did we mention we're talking about their dogs here? The guys also talk about some work stuff and some weekend stuff, and whatever other kind of stuff they can squeeze into an abbreviated episode. And Evan talks about going to see "The Long Walk," which was interesting! As always, there are also Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits for your listening pleasure.
This week, the guys discuss their experiences with a couple of bathroom-related tools. Josh just got back from a fancy resort equipped with a bidet, and Evan is curious for the lowdown, having never used one himself. As a big fan of butt wipes, would bidets take over and do the trick? The guys also talk about house and pet sitting after Evan's dog-watching duties for Josh. And, along with allergies, Josh has been dealing with a funky foot situation that required a little home remedy in the form of a soak-n-poke foot job. Did it work? As always, there are also Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story tidbits mixed in!
This week, the guys are trash-talking sustainability. Well, they're actually talking about trash AND sustainability, and how both impact their lives! Both Josh and Evan have some thoughts on staying sustainable, and Josh is having some big-time trash problems after moving into a house and needing some trash cans. So, what can normal people do to support sustainability? Is it even something individuals can impact, or are things too far gone? Evan also has a list of fun things to discuss, and the guys have their usual fun conversations. And as always, listen in for Fact of the Week, "sticking it to the man," and This Day in Hear-story content!
