Hubbard of Vitality Health and Wellness Center about how she encourages her clients to use yoga as part of their healing program from trauma related emotions. Sherry who is also trained as a certified trauma informed yoga teacher discusses her role in working with students who are experiencing trauma as part of her karma yoga practice.
Dr. Dana M. Hubbard, also known as “Dr. D”, is the owner and chief operator of Vitality Health and Wellness, LLC. She is a professional Licensed Clinical Social worker who has serviced veterans, women, children, and the black community. She is also a Certified Lead Agent with a specialization in organizational psychology. Dr. Hubbard received her Doctorate in Health Care Administration in 2019. Additional educational accomplishments include a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Salisbury state.
Dr. Dana M. Hubbard served honorably in the United States Airforce. As a Captain in the Air Force, Dr. D was a mental health therapist for service members and was responsible for the mental health operations for the local Air Force base. She led a clinical team of 22 professionals served as the Behavioral Health Consultant for base commanders and lead multiple Air Force programs.
As a Clinical Social Worker, Dr. Dana M. Hubbard specializes in Crisis Management, Bereavement, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Behavioral Health, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) importantly military/veteran mental health, and most importantly mental health for women of color.
In this episode, Sherry interviews Fine Artist and Healer, Elizabeth Tuckwell about art, healing and the influence of art in space. Elizabeth discusses how art helped her with own healing and how art not only influences space but provides a mode of awareness for ones personal healing. Perspectives of art, meditation and awareness for the mind, body, spirit and home are also discussed.
Elizabeth Tuckwell developed her own self-taught painting style while traveling the globe before the days of cell phones.
As she faced personal challenges she realized that painting could soothe her. She also discovered a path that gave her power over her anxiety and overwhelm; it was meditation and energy work.
