4th and 5 is back to break down the 2023 recruiting class. How did Texas' highest-rated class since 2010 address its actual needs? Then they preview the match-up vs the Washington Huskies in the Alamo Bowl. What to look out for and keys to winning the game
Pretend We're Football brings you the most hard-hitting analysis on Texas basketball current events like: - Is Tyrese Hunter a mummy? - A scandal at GW in 1998 between Luke Axtell and Capstar - Tim is working at Starbucks And I guess they also talk about Chris Beard being arrested for alleged domestic violence, where that leaves Texas, and who will be the next head coach.
Josh celebrates the big win over 0U and considers how much can be extrapolated about Texas from how bad the Sooners suck.
4th and 5: Deep Fried 0U

4th and 5 basks in the glory of Red River Shutout, reliving the biggest moments and just being happy. They also break down: - How this team is doing halfway through the season - Where the strengths/flaws are - What the addition of Quinn Ewers has done - What Texas fans can reasonably expect from a second half of the season that may be more difficult than a first half that featured Bama
Josh spends about 20 minutes lamenting the familiarity of everything that went wrong against Texas Tech and how it translates into the upcoming game against West Virginia.
Josh and Noah discuss the dominating second half from the Horns as they ultimately cruise to a 41-20 win over UTSA. What does this mean for the state of the program in terms of the team's mentality? And where are the expectations for the team heading into conference play?
Josh and Noah discuss the surprising outcome against Alabama as the Horns hung tough and arguably should have left DKR on Saturday with the dub. What went well, and what areas does Texas need to correct if they want to prove that this game is the standard and not an outlier going forward?
Josh comes at you with a solo episode to talk about the season opening win for Texas over Louisiana-Monroe and preview the Alabama game.
With the season opener against ULM on our doorstep, Josh and Noah come together to discuss the schedule and the impact players for the Longhorns this season. Expectations for individual players as well as the defensive, offensive, and special teams units are broken down as well as sorting the 2022 opponents into tiers based on likelihood of winning.
4th and 5 breaks down the biggest question marks surrounding Texas as we near the end of fall camp. How does the loss of Angilau and Neyor affect the offense? Who's starting at OL? Quinn Ewers or Hudson Card? Optimism around DeMarvion Overshown?! All this and more!
Josh is joined by guest host Steven to discuss expectations for the upcoming season now that fall practice has finally kicked off in Austin. Do positive feelings abound for the FSS boys? Or does cynicism continue to rule their offseason?
Josh and Noah finally share their thoughts about this offseason, even if this one comes very late! Tasked with their own personal Hot Ones episode, the boys discuss LHN's broadcast of the spring game, the new coaching staff hires, and Quinn Ewers! This was recorded well before Arch Manning's commitment, so no takes on that... Yet...
4th and 5 is back to discuss the commitment of #1 2023 and football royalty, Arch Manning, to Texas. How big is this in the world of football? How was Texas able to pull this off after 5-7? What exactly does it mean for the trajectory of this recruiting class and the program? LETS GOOOOOO
4th and 5 does their best to overanalyze the 50 or so plays fans were able to see of the Spring Game. What was impressive and what needs a lot of work? Texas has some glaring holes, and with the miss on Ochaun Mathis, who do they rely on to fill them?
Pretend We're Football breaks down Texas first tourney win in 8 years(!!!) and then asks the question is that one win enough to call the season a success? Then they take a look at the returning roster and review what Texas will need to add through the transfer portal for next year.
You can Pretend We're Basketball because it's MARCH MADNESS! We walk you through Texas' game with Virginia Tech and the possible match-ups with Purdue and the Yale Bulldgods.
Pretend We're Football reminisces about the best games and players to step foot in the Frank Erwin Center after they review the wins over TCU and WVU and the collapse vs Baylor. Then they preview the game vs Kansas and the Big 12 tournament
Pretend We're Football pretends we're Chris Beard and asks the question, what lessons would we take from the loss vs Tech and how would we approach Baylor, Kansas, and the tournaments in March. However, we start off with a hot take: is the Big 12 overrated this year?
Pretend We're Football takes a look at the Baylor loss and OU sweep in the lense of how it affects the standing position in the Big 12 and how Texas can avoid losing to more athletic teams like Baylor in March. Then they break down how Texas can hold off an amped up Tech team in Austin and how Texas Tech's approach to the transfer portal differed from Texas'.
Pretend We're Football basks in the glory a bit of the dramatic win over Kansas before breaking it down in a more calculated manner. Is what happened in that game replicable? Is the past few ranked home wins replicable on the road vs Baylor and OU? Should Texas get out on the run more on offense? (yes) All this and some Star Wars talk

High school coaches are no longer in control of recruiting. Haven't been in a long time. With social media and recruiting websites, the kids are in charge of the process.

The Alamo Bowl win will give Texas exactly as much as last year's Sugar Bowl win - none.

And BTW, no one cared about the atmosphere around the stadium when they were winning 10 games a year. if you want a better atmosphere, just start winning again.

This sounds like a repeat of last year's show after the San Jose game. Texas played a shitty team and had to hang on to win. Why don't we wait until after the USC game before we jump to any conclusions.

You don't need a freaking 13th data point. Ohio State and Bama made it in the CFP without it the last 2 years.
