It's June! That means the Cicadas are waking up...and it's Alix's birhday month! We're kicking it off with the underrated movie Digging Up the Marrow from 2014. It's a real love letter to the horror genre with some AMAZING practical effects. There are some.... differing opinions though. Strap in, it's going to be a wild month.

Alix's new catchphrase for her picks... Not Niche Enough! The team is covering Sion Sono's 2001 movie SUICIDE CLUB! And while this movie is wild and GRAPHIC the team admire it's bravery and honestly... everything about it.
Seriously though, not recommending for the faint of heart, but if you're feeling up to it and auteur films are your thing... this needs to be on your list immediately!
We are not a J-Pop group brainwashing the masses but if you're feeling inclined, write us a review on iTunes!

Welcome to HIGH SCHOOL HORROR MONTH! Join Anthony and Alix this week as they tackle the CULT CLASSIC The Slumber Party Massacre from 1982. The Roger Corman produced flick has... layers? Maybe? We aren't sure. Listen to hear the duo discuss its origins, production, as well as the age old question, "is it a feminist film?"
We promise we will stop talking about the drill/phallus if you write us a review on iTunes~!

It's exactly as silly as you're thinking, if you miss our season 1 episode formats, this episode is for you! Have fun and be safe today kids! And if you accidentally kill your friends and family due to possessed appendage... ehh.. You'll be fine.
For every 5 star rating and review on iTunes, Alix will stop saying "like" every other word, or at least attempt to.

Once again we go INCREDIBLY NICHE. In this episode a former ~*adult film director*~ gets excommunicated from the Catholic church and he has something to say about it! The director? Alfred Sole. The Movie? Alice, Sweet Alice (A.K.A Communion, A.K.A Holy Terror) from 1976.
Anthony and Alix also talk a LOT about our own family dynamics (older sibling syndrome is also real) and our relationship with religion (it's as heavy as you're probably picturing). It's heavy, but good.
We are TERRIFIED of the killer costume in this movie and only 5 star reviews on iTunes will keep the nightmares at bay.

"Did you hear me, Butterfly? Miles to go, before you sleep." Happy Birthday part 3 Anthony! This week the team covers one of Anthony's favorite directors with the help of friend of the podcast, Andrew Parker (@fritzbonelord)! There's a lot to love about this movie, from the cast to even the silly IMDB synopsis. Also a brief history into Grindhouse and two directors who just... wanted to tell a story. One features way more feet shots than the other.
Check it out! And rate and subscribe wherever you're listening! Thanks again to Andrew for joining!
It's March so you know what that means... We've been in quarantine for a whole year AND it's Anthony's birth month!
Our fearless duo are nOT off to a great start as they're both dealing with their emotional turmoil but that won't stop them from discussing the soul sucking movie that is Hereditary!
Anthony and Alix discuss their undying love for Ari Aster, as well as his beginnings in film that ultimately head to his feature film debut. It's theory heavy and discussion heavy and fun despite the ~*content*~.

Is it niche? Yes. Does Alix or Anthony care? Nope! This week your Horrorble Hosts are joined by Wayne Webster, Alix's dad and longtime supporter of the podcast! The three regale in tales of Alix's youth, most importantly discussing 1994's Without Warning!
The three discuss sci-fi horror, the 90s, and newscasting then versus now. It's a great look back at some of the great, and not so great things the 90s brought us. The nostalgia is strong with this one.
While we definitely didn't get hit by asteroids, how about a 5 star review on iTunes instead?

Conflicting feelings arise this week between Anthony and Alix as they discuss the Horror-Comedy The Final Girls (2015)! Not to be confused with Final Girls (2015). Was it just a hair over too wholesome for a horror movie? What other classic 80s songs almost became the sad girl anthem for this film? Why does Adam DeVine have such a punchable face? Listen to find out!
Oooooh, baby, don't you know what that's worth? Ooooh heaven is a 5 star rating and review on iTunes.

Things uh... Go a little sideways this week as the team has to roll with the punches. Anthony is out fighting a super plague so Alix had to roll out the reinforcements. Carly Joy, horror fan and friend of the podcast guests this week as Alix and Carly discuss Rob Zombies directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses!
More than ever, this is a VERY casual episode of just two buddies imbibing and talking about the joys of horror. It's fun. In the meantime, let's all send our best to Anthony, the cure for covid is 5 star iTunes reviews, right?

In the longest time coming ever, the team finally gets to sing it's praises to Jennifer Tilly, and with a friend! Meemz from the Swatch of Horrors podcast guests this week as the trio discusses this late 90s slasher (?). Anthony and Alix discuss their ARDENT love of Jennifer Tilly and not much else, what else did you expect? Meemz puts up with us, but only barely. Together we all reminisce on technology of the early 2000s (remember Netflix's disc rentals?).

This week the team is tackling the luck laden history of 1977's House! Nobuhiko Obayashi's directorial debut didn't have the strongest beginnings BUT man did it pack a punch. The team doesn't like to dictate how you watch a movie but Anthony has a very specific way he wants you to enjoy this movie, listen and find out!

Life... Finds a way... Wait wrong movie.
Anyway, we're talking about the supreme leader of all Dead Teenager Movies - Final Destination (2000)!
This episode might be poorly timed, and your hosts are BLISSFULLY unaware of that as they get tipsy and talk about teenagers dying in creative ways. Also we almost promise this episode has more to do with the X-Files then you thought it would. Don't believe us? Listen and find out!
If you love John Denver as much as we do, give us a 5 star rating and maybe toss a review in there for good measure!
That's a wrap on SEASON 2! Your dynamic duo is joined by the hilarious Andrew Parker of Crypta to discuss one of horror's all time classics: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). The team goes into its horrific true crime beginnings, poses a macabre math question, its somehow even more terrifying shoot, its production and then FINALLY, how did the mob get involved in all of this?
PRODUCER'S NOTE: Remember this is it for August! HPP is recharging our batteries this month and will be returning in SEPTEMBER! Until then, leave us a 5 star review on iTunes if you miss us?
