A rare playoff at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a preview of the PLAYERS, and Golf Cask Founder Brian Bailie. For the first time in a long time the Arnold Palmer Invitational went to a playoff, while Scottie and Rory were nowhere to be seen. All the new young guys were on display at the Puerto Rico Open, including Blades Brown and John Daly Jr, but it was another young player who won in his tournament debut. The Asian Swing ended at the Blue Bay LPGA, where a Korean had a roller coaster final day before holding off a local Chinese pro for the win. Casey Jarvis has been all the talk on the DP World Tour's African swing, and he almost made it 3 in a row before falling just short. Zach Johnson, fresh off his 50th birthday, made his way to the Champions Tour, and easily notched himself his first victory. The PGA TOUR now heads to TPC Sawgrass for the PLAYERS, and Alex needs to know if Michael considers it golf's fifth major. March is a busy month with Alex's Austin getting ready for SXSW, Michael's Savannah gearing up for St Patrick's Day, and airlines doing crazy stuff. In Tuned In, Michael shares his review of 2024's "Saturday Night," while Alex is getting inundated with videos of driverless cars. This week's guest is Brian Bailie, the founder of Golf Cask. Golf can be hard at the Cognizant Classic, Alex goes to another PopStroke, and Purdue Boilermaker Austin Klug joins the podcast. The golf gods did not smile on Shane Lowry at the Cognizant Classic as he dunked two in the water to give up the win. The Seminole Pro-Member tournament is a crazy member-professional that usually includes Tiger Woods. But his absence is making Alex weary of future golfing prospects this season. The LPGA stayed in Asia for the HBC Women's World Championship, where Australian Hannah Green finished with bogeys but was still able to hold on to win. The DP World Tour stayed in Africa, where Casey Jarvis got his second win in a row in South Africa. Alex is enjoying the warmer Texas weather is went down to San Antonio to check out that city's PopStroke, where he enjoyed the golf and the vibes. Michael, meanwhile, is getting ready for St Patrick's Day by checking out Savannah's Slithering. The Genesis Invitational had a new winner claim victory by the skin of his teeth over some of the greats of the game, while Scottie Scheffler's impressive streak came to an end. Tiger gave his usual press conference at Riviera, and gave an exciting answer if he will play at Augusta this year. The Honda LPGA Thailand kicked off the competitive LPGA season, and the World's Best won again. The DP World Tour was in Africa for the Magical Kenya Open, where a Kenyan made the cut for the first time. Next week, the LPGA Tour keeps going in Asia, while the PGA TOUR starts their Florida Swing at PGA National. The PGA Tour's incredibly windy Butterfield Bermuda Championship included some runners along the ground instead of flying in the air, one handed putts, and a win for Adam Schenk. The PGA Champions Tour also came to an end as Stewart Cink claimed the season finale, but more notably, Bernhard Langer's streak Champions Tour seasons with a win finally came to an end at 17. Back in Texas, Alex recounts what else he did in Florida for his relaxing vacation, while Michael is busy making hundreds of pounds of bread a day as the bakery sprints into the holiday season. The golfing world is (mostly) in Asia again this week, plus Alex asks "Can We All Agree?", and another coach bites the dust in the college world. The Bank of Utah Championship featured an exciting first time winner, who just 7 weeks ago was playing in the lowly PGA Americas Tour. The LPGA's Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown, played in Korea, an annual event with teams from all over the world, once again made Michael ask why we don't have a co-ed event on the calendar. The DP World Tour's season finale Genesis Invitational, also in Korea, included some Sunday heroics from three players to keep their Tour cards, including one amazing hole-out. It's late October which means Fall Festivals and more across the country, including the annual East Side Mini Open in Alex's Austin, TX. In a new segment Alex is calling "Can We All Agree?", he asks for everyone to stop taking full-volume face time calls, and to leave a space between when taking a treadmill at the gym. In Tuned In, Michael finally watches the viral sensation "K-Pop Demon Hunters," while Alex is catching the new show "DMV." College Football's Indiana continues to impress, making even Alex come around to them. Meanwhile, LSU fires their coach after a horrific start, but Deion Sanders and Bill Belichick are still at their respective institutions. In the NFL, the Jets finally break out for a big win, Alex and other Patriot fans are about to become insufferable again, and Michael can feel the pain of the Giants. The World Series continues and while Alex and Michael pray for anyone but the Dodgers, the guys don't have great faith.
