This month's edition of UP! has a front end full of funky, house pop tracks and transitions into a back end full of driving dance floor stompers. Kicking off the set is the awesome Nick Jay & Jean Luc remix of Katie Underwood's "Danger". The amazing Division 4 features three remixes here for Sabrina Carpenter, Sombr and SZA respectively. He has his own website (Division 4 Music : Div-4.com) where you can download quite a few of his mixes at really good prices. I highly recommend you check it out and also give him some support. Speaking of support, the incredibly generous Russ Rich and Andy Allder gave me an advance copy of their remix of Raye's "Where Is My Husband" and it is flat out amazing. The baseline, percussion and integration of the lyrics is masterful and I cannot thank them enough for this lovely sneak peak. Dario Xavier also features two mixes for Nick Jonas and also Taylor Swift. Sagi Kariv delivers a thumping mix of Charlie XCX's "Hello Goodbye" and the always on point Dirty Disco delivers a classic remix for Tata Vega and a punchy remix for Katseye. Closing out the set is the new track from Agnes given the big room treatment from Henriq Moraes. The Sydney Mardi Gras festival fires up in mid February and runs through to the first weekend of March which means Mardi Gras anthems will be out very soon. Welcome to the New Year. We've all made it. I was working like a dog over the Xmas / NY period so it's taken me a bit of time to get to the January '26 edition of UP! This set has a mix of classic, older songs with fresh, new remixes as well as some current charting hit songs. Kicking of the set is the amazing smash hit song "Man I Need" by Olivia Dean given a killer remix by Apollo. I love this song and Apollo maintains the integrity of the song with his remix. Division 4 has covered one of my favourite hits from the 70's, "If I Can't Have You" and Stephen Jusko & DJ Blacklow deliver a sexy, house mix of Kylie's sultry classic "Slow". Twenty year old American singer Sombr also gets the Division 4 treatment on "Undressed". The middle of the set has great house tracks from Raye, Taylor Swift and Joel Corry ft. Jennifer Lopez. Dirty Disco features four stellar remixes in this set. Two classics come from Donna Summer and La Bouche respectively along with Katseye's "Gabriela". The closing song is an original song from Mark and his writing partner Ryan. This song was inspired by "Wicked" but is not from the films. It is beautifully written, sung and produced and I see it becoming a gay anthem on future dance floors. Again, an enormous thank you to Mark for giving me this song and asking me for my feedback on it. I think it's pretty obvious that I love it. This is a compilation that I've been wanting to put together for a while now. Dirty Disco remixing Taylor Swift is a dance floor match made in heaven. I have been so fortunate that Mark has given me advance copies of some of his remixes, not just for Taylor but for artists across the board. He is a very generous man and I think he knows how much I appreciate it and love him for it. This set has been several years in the making and features songs from Taylor's discography ranging from "Love Story and "Fearless" right through to "The Fate Of Ophelia" from her current hit album "The Life Of A Showgirl". Mark's mixes always add so much drive and energy to her songs. He can take a ballad and turn it into a dance floor anthem and he always leaves me thinking 'how the hell did he do that'? A couple of my all time favourite TS songs are featured here "Blank Space", "Message In A Bottle" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". I'm going to nudge Mark into remixing "Out Of The Woods" and I'll be even happier. Here is the final edition of Essential Kelly Clarkson (at least until she releases some new music). This edition has more of a big room/circuit sound to it with some stand out remixes from Henriq Moraes, Bimbo Jones, Chris Ortega, 7th Heaven, Dirty Disco, Joe Gauthreaux and Toy Armada & Jace M to name a few. The Brian Cua mix Of "Broken & Beautiful opens the set in style and the Melodika mix of "I Dare You" absolutely soars. Rolling into December comes the last edition of UP! for 2025. This has been a great year for music with new artists shining through and some classics getting new club makeovers. The set kicks off with an amazing 7th Heaven remix of "I Like The Way" by Karina and then slides into a funky house mix of "Turn Up The Volume" by DJ Juanito from their limited Extended Love EP. The always awesome Division 4 delivers two thumping mixes for David Guetta and Lady Gaga respectively with Henriq Moraes featuring two remixes for Demi Lovato and Kylie Minogue later in the set. I was very fortunate to receive two advance copy remixes from Russ Rich and Andy Allder with their hauntingly beautiful remix of "Opalite" by Taylor Swift. This was followed up by Dirty Disco's (aka DJ Mark De Lange) remix of Taylor Swift's "The Fate Of Ophelia." Both are so exceptional, I had to feature them on this mix. They are always so generous with sharing their exclusive remixes in advance and I can't thank them enough. The set closes out with some high energy remixes from Will Darling and Nick Bertossi. After some deliberation, I decided to split the part 2 edition of Essential Kelly Clarkson into parts 2 and 3. I had ended up with 30 tracks and I felt that it was too long for a single, long episode. These 2 editions are more big room oriented with this part 2 containing punchy house and big room remixes from producers such as Teddy J, Love To Infinity, Edson Pride, Barry Harris, Cosmic Dawn, Stormby and Dario Xavier, who features 4 remixes here. This set features songs not included in part 1 as well as some different interpretations of songs from the previous edition. The constant through line is Ms Clarkson's incredible voice and her ability to deliver a song with power and emotion. Part 3 is on its way soon. After a wonderful holiday to Canada in October (what an amazing country and people), I'm back with a combined October/November edition of UP! This episode kicks of with some powerhouse pop anthems from Joe Bermudez ft. Dana McKeon and Ashley Paul ft. Deniece Pearson. Division 4 delivers two punchy remixes for HUNTR/X and BLACKPINK respectively. It's great to see Martha Wash back on the scene with her version of "Everybody Dance Now" given a killer mix by Robbie Carrigan. The always impressive Russ Rich and Andy Allder deliver what I consider to be the best remix of Taylor Swift's "The Fate Of Ophelia". I went to see Ricky Martin in concert in Melbourne in November. I have seen him on two previous occasions and he is phenomenal in concert. As an homage, I've included one of my favourite songs of his "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely" with Christina Aguilera.. The remix God, DJ Mark of Dirty Disco fame features two stand out mixes here for Maxxie LaWow and his own private version of "Music Lifts Me Up" which was a big hit back in the 2000's for Drive ft. Marvel. Toy Armada and Jace M work their magic on Lady Gaga's "The Dead Dance" and Henriq Moraes closes out the set with two remixes for Sabrina Carpenter and Lori Michaels respectively. It's official music fans, Spring has landed Down Under and I couldn't be happier. The September '25 edition of UP! has also landed and is chock full of house and club anthems. There is a blend of older and newer in this mix. The set kicks off with the Nick Jay & Jean Luc remix of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by the Cube Guys. I've always liked their take on songs so I've included two of their mixes on here. The always amazing Division 4 features three remixes for Justin Timberlake, Teddy Swims and HUNTR/X respectively. Russ Rich and Andy Allder turn in an astonishingly beautiful mix of Billie Eilish's "Birds Of A Feather" and I had to include it on here. I've never been a big fan of Bjork but I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the Dirty Disco remix of "Big Time Sensuality" as well as his mix of Russ, Andy and Debby Holiday's cover of "D.M.S.R." both of which were no brainers for this set. The Stephen Jusko & DJ Blacklow remix of Lady Gaga & Taylor Swift's "How Bad Do U Want Me" is top notch also and features here. It's taken me some time to get around to making my next Essential artist compilation but I never had any doubt it would be Kelly Clarkson. Her voice is undeniable. The range, the power and the control. There is literally nothing this woman cannot sing. I remember her audition on the first season of American Idol way back in 2002 and unlike many singing talent show winners, Kelly did not fade from public view after her debut single and album. In fact, she increased he fan base becoming more popular with each album release. Three of her most successful albums Breakaway, All I Ever Wanted and Stronger are some of the highest selling albums by a female pop artist, and all of this by 2011. Kelly's appeal is global as she has had songs chart around the world. She reinvented herself when she became a regular judge on the US version of The Voice with 4 winning contestants to her name. In 2019 Kelly became the host of her own talk show where a highlight of each episode was her "Kellyoke" where she would cover songs by other artists, putting her unique spin on them. This first edition of essential songs features 22 tracks remixed by producers such as 7th Heaven, Division 4, Chris Cox, Barry Harris, Shanghai Surprise, Cosmic Dawn, Wayne G & Andy Allder, Russ Rich, JRMX, David Guetta and DJ Laszlo to name a few. The final track is a duet with Cher but I didn't realize that the remixer had cut most of Kelly's vocal from the mix, so enjoy the final song by Cher I guess. August is upon us and so is this month's edition of UP! I can honestly say I'm looking forward to winter ending Down Under. I've really felt it this year. The July 2025 edition of UP! is a smorgasbord of house anthems from a variety of artists and remixers. The set kicks of with Sabrina Carpenter's current massive hit "Manchild" mixed by Apollo. The always reliable Dirty Disco (I'm still waiting for Pop Classics 4 Mark) features 3 stellar mixes for Lady Gaga, Lee Dagger and Calvin Harris respectively. Kristine W. has a new song out, "Love Personified" and the 7th Heaven remix is fire. Division 4 with Matt Consola gives a signature anthemic house remix to Maxxie LaWow's "Bye Girl Bye" and James Anthony samples the classic Tamia song "Stranger In My House" in his latest release. Brady Price delivers a banger of a song "Say Yes" featuring Brian Kent as do David Guetta & Sia with "Beautiful People" perfectly mixed by Robbie Carrigan. Australian artist Hollway has been releasing some stellar tracks and his song "Come Back" brilliantly mixed by Andy Allder, closes out the set. This year's Pride Anthems is probably one of the campest episodes I've ever put together. I've done this on purpose because I think this year in particular the LGBTQI+ community could do with a break from the relentless persecution that it has been suffering around the world - especially in the USA. I've never understood how one small section of the community just wanting to live their lives in peace can cause so much hatred from other people in the broader community? So my small contribution is to provide 2 1/2 hours of joyous, hands in the air music to help take your minds off the negativity and celebrate the fabulous global community that we are. There are so many divas packed into this set that it is a veritable who's who of empowering vocalists we have come to love over the years.. Rather than list them all, you can listen to them and hopefully find joy in this trip down memory lane. Having said that, the remixes are vital to the overall project and there are some heavy hitters here. Dirty Disco, 7th Heaven, Division 4, Wayne. G and Toy Armada all feature stellar remixes alongside Russ Rich & Andy Allder, Tommer Mizrahi, Robbie Carrigan, Almighty and Thunderpuss. Just one month to go before Pride month kicks off in June, but before that, we need to discuss the May '25 edition of UP! I wanted a balance of house/pop tracks to open the set, then moving into some big room bangers to close it out. The set kicks of with the smooth StoneBridge mix of "Dance In The Dark" and rolls into Ed Sheeran's latest "Azizam". I used a track by Hollway on my last episode which I really liked and then found a bunch more of his on Beatport. I really like his music and the fabulous Andy Allder has mixed a number of his tracks including "I Need To Know". Dario Xavier features three remixes here for Becky Hill (a different style for him), Benson Boone and Jordan Firstman. Mark from Dirty Disco gives his signature uplifting energy to Gaga's "Abracadabra" as do Toy Armada and Jace M on Jules Liesl's "Cherry". The set closes out with big room mixes for Lola Young and Katy Perry respectively. The May edition should definitely keep you UP! and moving until Pride rolls around. Here we are with the all male vocal edition of Men - Mardi Gras Men. I wanted to get this done before the actual main party weekend but I had so much going on, I had to push it back further in the month. This coming of age 20th edition of Men wastes no time in getting into it. The set kicks off with the awesome remix of "My Universe" by Coldplay from my good friend Rob of Division 4 and then swings into the funky sound of "Good Times". 7th Heaven feature three remixes here. The first is for Guy Sebastian's "Battle Scars". Guy is one of my all time favourite male vocalists. He won the first season of Australian Idol and he's voice is sublime. I've met him a couple of times through work and he is an absolute delight. If you're not familiar with his music (he writes all of his songs), then check him out. I've also met Adam Turner a few times in London and he is also a delight. He is the lead vocalist on the song "Amazing" featured here. He is also a music producer and his remixes are awesome. I've know Wayne G. for years and he is so much fun. He throws in two beautiful mixes for Bruno Mars and Darren Hayes respectively and then we're off into the big room sound. Robbie Carrigan is producing some amazing remixes (check out his Soundcloud page) and here he delivers a top notch mix of "Send Me An Angel" by Real Life - another Australian band from the 80's. Toy Armada & DJ GRIND deliver two anthems for Hardwell and R5 respectively and how could I not include any set without a couple of stand out mixes from DJ Mark De Lang of Dirty Disco. Here he works his magic on "I Feel Love" and "Stay". The set closes out with another beautiful 7th Heaven remix for boy band A1. The men absolutely rule in this pumping set. The March 2025 edition of Mardi Gras Anthems marks a decade of anthems as I started making them back in 2015. For this set I've reached back to classic hits from the 80's and 90's with modern updates as well as some more recent songs from this millennium. The set kicks off with a repurposed mix of Kylie's "Better The Devil You Know" followed by an updated mix of "Happenin' All Over Again" by Lonnie Gordon, which was one of my favourite Stock Aitken Watermen songs from back in the day. The amazing Division 4 provides three stand out mixes here for Madonna, Aretha Franklin and Vanessa Amorosi respectively. The equally amazing Mark from Dirty Disco also features four of his mixes here and as always, I'm very grateful to them both for providing me with their remixes. Classic songs from Anastacia, Céline Dion, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Tina Cousins and Cher all feature here. One of my all time favourite songs from the 90's was "Heaven" by Sarah Washington and here it is given a killer new remix from 7th Heaven. The Goddess, The Queen. I have been a Kylie Minogue fan since she first released "The Locomotion" as a charity single back in 1987. Back in those days it was the Tweens and the Gays who were her loyal fan base but as Kylie matured, so did her music and her style. Her unique ability to reinvent herself without losing sight of herself and always being incredibly generous to her fans has kept her relevant in the changing landscape of pop music. I have been to all but one of her concert tours in Australia and I make no apologies for that. A few years back, an amazing thing happened in Kylie land, at least as far as I'm concerned anyway. The extraordinarily talented Mark from Dirty Disco started remixing her more recent single releases from her albums "Disco", "Tension" and "Tension ll". He also took on two of her global classics "Spinning Around" and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". For me personally, this is the best thing that could have happened to Kylie's music on the dance floor. I've always thought that a lot of her remixes on past hits always seemed to be lacking punch or drive. Not the case with Dirty Disco. Mark takes her songs and completely rebuilds them into stomping dance floor anthems. In honor of her latest Australian tour, (which I will be attending on March 3rd this year), I've put together an anthology of Mark's remixes for Kylie to help prep the fan base for her tour. The remix geniuses from Almighty are back in this second edition of their Best Of. In this set, I've used a lot of their high energy club mixes from the late 90's and 2000's. This particular time in their anthology was filled with punchy club mixes that had a higher BPM with lots of synth builds and drops. There is a good spread of songs from original artists as well as cover versions, all of which have been given stellar extended mixes. Featured are hits from Cher, Pet Sop Boys, Ricky Martin, Kylie Minogue, Evelyn Thomas, Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry to name a few. I did put a different version of "Perfect Day" on this edition as I love that song so much. I also included two classic songs from Donna Summer. Part 2 of the Best of Almighty rounds out over three decades of dance floor anthems produced by some of the best remixer's in the business. Welcome to 2025. This January edition is a little slow getting into production. I've been on annual leave in January and have been doing a bit of traveling in Australia and before I knew it, half of the month had disappeared. I'm also in the process of gearing UP! for a big event birthday for me coming UP! in March this year (more on that later).
