In this closing episode of Barbell Buddha Rediscovered, I'm doing a "live listen" where I get to sit down with the buddy one last time. To say Chris's life and work has impacted me is an understatement, and this show is my final attempt to share that message. Today on the show, we'll get plenty of nuggets and peals as well as an ending that is truly surreal. Thank you Chris. And thank you, dear listener.
Peace, love, namaste, cheers,
-Brooks
In this episode of Barbell Buddha Rediscovered, I interview top strength coach, Julien Pineau. Julien needs little introduction to this audience, so I'll let the episode speak for itself. We discuss Julien's life before and after Barbell Shrugged, his personal connection to Chris, and what Julien is up to now. Special thanks to Julien for coming on and to Mr. Bledsoe for the connection. Enjoy the show.
Today on the show, Chris discusses what's been going on after a 2 month podcast hiatus. He talks about the updated Barbell Shrugged, the deeper meaning of D3&T, and answers 3 questions from his fans.
Chris does most of the heavy lifting today so sit back, relax, listen, and enjoy the show.
In his final interview for Barbell Buddha Rediscovered, I head down the rabbit hole with Mike Bledsoe in Austin, Texas to discuss our first encounter at PaleoFX, wise morons, and Mike reflects on the lessons of Chris's life and legacy.
I want to give a special thank you to Mike for inviting me into his life, contributing to the show, and for being a friend and mentor to me over the last 5 years. His contibution to my life and development cannot be overstated.
Enjoy the show.
I’m coming to you, in your earbuds, from Fairy Hill, Portland Parish, Jamaica. Today on the show, Chris is going to talk about his first Tony Robbins experience, how to pick up on patterns, and what to do about it once we find them.
Today on the show it's another "live listen" where we talk about training, pursuing quality, and continuing to do less things, better.
Today on the show I talk about my CrossFit origins and the small moves I made that brought me into the CrossFit Memphis / Faction SC / Barbell Shrugged ecosystem by this point in Chris's timeline (June 28, 2015) when the original show was released. We also have a clip from a seminar Chris and the BBS guys hosted in Miami about the importance of the small moves that allow for the big goals to be achieved. Happy Vice Friday!
It's Vice Friday so I've got snacks and good show lined up for you. Enjoy!
How better to start the year than getting off on the good foot? At least, that's what we're going for. But not everything goes according to plan. On today's show, Chris gives us 3 hot tips for getting traction when motivation and inspiration seem fleeting, and we're gonna smoke a taco or two! Enjoy the show, and Happy New Year!
It's Chris's birthday so I wanted to catch up with him and hear this righteous story. It may be his birthday, but he's the one giving the gifts on this episode. Let's hear how Chris stared down his hero, the devastating aftermath, and what he learned. I'll also share some personal things in my life lately. Enjoy the show, and Happy Birthday Chris!
After a long break I dust off the ole headset and discuss where we are in the story of Chris Moore and celebrate his life and legacy after departing from this earth 6 years ago. Glad to be back with you.
On this New Years Eve show, we go in on Spartan races and how to unlock your natural athleticism. Strength of more than a number. What can you DO with that strength? Does it take you 45 minutes just to get ready to use it. If the Mountain from Game of Thrones can get his ass kicked by a 155lb Connor McGregor, who is really stronger? The answer is not so easy. And Chris closes the show by reading "Big Things" from his book GET CHANGE. Enjoy, and Happy New Year!
Today is Chris's birthday, so I wanted to share this guest appearance by Zach Even-Esh. If you're a fan of Chris, Zach needs little introduction and was one of the catalysts for Chris's transformation. Zach and I cover what it's like to coach youth athletes, what it takes to be successful in the gym & life, and Zach opens up about his relationship to Chris in this special interview with the one and only, Zach Even-Esh. Enjoy...
On today's show we have a few juicy music nuggets, I share some tips for improving your training, Chris does some Q&A, I talk about some documentaries I've watched lately, and we let Chris close the show with a documentary recommendation of his own. Merry Christmas!
Today on the show we're solving the problem of progress. I have two confessions I have to make where I explain why the show has been on pause and what the hell I've been up to over the last 7 months. Plus, Chris has 5 tips for making progress, and I preview what's to come as we close out the final 20 episodes of Barbell Buddha Rediscovered. Glad to be back! Enjoy.
This interview is going in as a substitute for episode 79 of Barbell Buddha, the "Barbell Shrugged Thanksgiving special w/ Christmas Abbott" that took place in Sweden while visiting Eleiko’s Headquarters. That episode is fun and loose and there are some gems scattered in this episode, so I encourage you to go listen to it after this interview.
Dr. Galpin is a tenured University Professor with a PhD in "Human Bioenergetics". He teaches classes, publishes research, and works with athletes in the areas of health, human performance, strength & conditioning, and nutrition. If you’re a fan of Chris and Barbell Shrugged you’ve heard his name many, many times. Andy was a colleague, former roommate, and close personal friend with Chris. I can’t thank him enough for coming on the show and paying tribute to Chris’s legacy and giving an honest, raw, and at some times, emotional take on Chris’s life and legacy.
I’m going to kick the show off with a song called “All or Nothing” by my favorite band, MuteMath. I encourage you to listen deeply to the words and carry that forward into the show. “Don’t waste your whole life, on just a half try, it’s all or nothing”
Please enjoy this special episode of Barbell Buddha Rediscovered called “The Story of Two Chris’s.”
Today on the show I summarize Chris's 7 Lessons for Progress, and we reflect on the significance of this show and how it foreshadows so much to come for Chris. A deeply personal episode, and a tribute to the Buddha himself.
Today on the show I share a listener success story and Chris has 4 Lessons for Doing Awesome Sh*t. I don't know about you, but I like doing awesome sh*t. If you do as well, this show is for you! Enjoy.
Today on the show we'll get into the Hero's Journey and why f*ck ups and let downs are all part of it. We get a lot of Chris today as he recounts his own personal history and perspective on failure and why everything is going to be ok, if you allow it.
On a personal note, I think this is the best Barbell Buddha Rediscovered I've produced so far. I know you'll leave inspired and ready to tackle any challenge thrown your way. Enjoy it.
On this episode I talk about staying moving during tough times, I give a quick tip about training, and I share a clip from Travis Mash's podcast "The Barbell Life" where he interviewed Chris and they give us a dose of the real. I hope you enjoy it.
