Hope is built over time. We will take some time the next two weeks looking at hope and the
impact it can have on your life! What hope do we have? Can we encourage others through the hope we have?
Please join us as we learn together. "You are not alone!"
During the last month, we learned the power that words have on others. It is noteworthy that
Jesus says we are judged by how we use our words. So how can we use our words in the most positive way?
Join Andy as he brings out lessons from the Paul's motivational letter to the Christians at Colassae as
well as a wonderful story where Jesus bucks expectations of judgemental words and instead uses encouraging
word to heal.
How do we separate the 'Wheat from the Tares?'
Should we separate the 'Wheat from the Tares?' What is the difference between them and why do we need to know that?
Join Larry as he discusses three things that could stand in your way as growing like the wheat Jesus would have
you be.
Sometimes, we assume that all it takes is one touch of Jesus for everything to be as it should be.
However, in Mark Eight we find an account of two touches of Jesus being required. So the question is,
“What’s the bench-mark for knowing if another touch is required?” The answer is, if we see anything like,
“Men as trees walking,” obviously our Lord truly desires to give us the required additional touch.
There’s a lot of action going on in Mark Eight, including feelings of deja vu, the usual wisenheimers,
warnings about the leaven inherent in wisenheimers, one particularly really excellent answer, one
particularly really awful rebuke, one major wake-up call, topped off with a extremely concise summary of
what Jesus requires of his disciples. Mark Eight was written over two thousand years ago, but its lessons
are timeless. Come and share in the action.
We hope that you will join us this Sunday as we complete the Sermon Series on ... as the Word.
This Sunday, David Elliott will be speaking on You as The Word. The Lord has promised to be there every step of
the way. The are promises to those of God that walk with Him. When you give your life to God, when you determine
to do His will, then you need to take the next step. He'll help you make that step and every one thereafter.
If you ave ever been sick; or been afraid; or ever tried to hide, you'll be able to relate to
the Story of Bernice. Join us Sunday as Larry walks us through what we can expect and hope for in Jesus as
we learn from Bernice's story.
David Elliott will be sharing with us some practical ideas on discipleship that will help you at
work or school. The ideas he will share will help you to make an impact in the areas where you work with other
people. There are many outside of these walls who we interact with on a daily basis and we can make a
difference in their lives. We hope you will worship with us on Sunday.
On this Mother's Day we would like to honor the sisters in our church by talking about two very
special women in Jesus' life, his good friends Martha and her sister Mary. Martha, of course, was the older
and busier sister. She spent her time scurrying about the house, preparing an exquisite dinner for Jesus
during his visit, while Mary spent her time sitting at Jesus' feet hanging on to every word he spoke.
What did Jesus have to say about each of them? Do you find yourself identifying with one of the sisters
more than the other? Come join us this Sunday to hear more about this fascinating story.
As disciples, we need to be focused on what the Master would have us be doing, learning, and
serving. However, we're constant bombarded with Distractions from without, and sometimes from within.
Join Andy as he walks us through identifying and avoiding our distractions from our spiritual walk.
"How to attain and maintain a healthy spiritual disciple’s heart. Athletes that have achieved
greatness in their sport all have several things in common: Xtreme workouts, disciplined diets,
and a heart set on being the best. We sometimes emulate those athletes hoping if we follow their example,
we will get the same results. It might be great to "Be Like Mike", but how much better is it to
"Be Like Christ"?
As disciples, just like the greatest athletes of our time, we must take on an
Xtreme Training regimen; but if our hearts are not in shape and set on the ultimate goal, we will never
reach our full potential and become true disciples of Jesus. Join us as Brian will review our
Discipleship Journey and give us the keys to attaining and maintaining a healthy disciple’s heart.
"This Sunday will be set aside in much of Christendom to commemorate the mighty power of our
God that was brought to bear when He raised His Son from the grave and declared once for all that death does
not reign supreme!
We've assigned many pleasant customs to this day - spacial songs and prayers that train our thoughts
toward the empty tomb and the miracle that was wrought on that day. But our celebration needs to go beyond
customs, beyond remembrance, and even beyond the wonder of it all.
1 Thess. 5:17 "Never stop praying." Prayer is an interesting topic. Lots of religions do it.
People who aren't religious, but spiritual do it. It is one of those things, that even in this day and
age is so pervasive most of us think we understand it. Do we? This Sunday we will take a simple and
straightforward look at the basics of how to pray (from a Christian perspective). This is not something
you should take lightly or something you should be casual about. It is life. It is life giving. It is fundamental.
"The Chicken Eagle" The Bible has a lot of references to eagles! It tells us how it lives,
how it flies, how it eats, how it mates, as well as how it learns. So, what do you think the chicken eagle is?
Come and find out just how the eagle can heighten your Christian flight with God.
We know what the popular notion of Jesus is. This Sunday, Dennis Thorfeldt will talk about the Biblical version
of the Son of Man. He will also discuss how we can emulate him in our Christian walks.
Godly Sorrow Brings Repentance At one time or another we've all experienced some "guilt" in our life.
Where does it come from? Does it have a place in a Christian's life? Scripture shows us that guilt can be both positive
and negative. We just need to recognize the difference between positive and negative guilt.
The Main Thing
The bridegroom is a significant symbol for us when in comes to Jesus. The analogy is used by Jesus himself a
few times with his disciples here on earth as well as his words to John in the book of Revelation. So it is good for us
to understand what a wedding was like in Jesus' day.Do you know who picks the bride? Is it possible that she could refuse
to be part of the wedding?
Join Larry as he breaks down the wonderful picture of Jesus as the bridegroom.
Christ-reme Uniqueness... You may be surprised how everything God does is so unique!
This includes his creation; it includes each one of us! So many of us sell short what God is doing in our lives.
Each of us is a special work of his. Each of us has unique ministries that no one else can match!
Join Andy this Sunday as he explores our incredible uniqueness in Christ!
