The agencies involved in that report have since released a correction noting that their report had the acreage of the fires flipped. The correction notes that Elk Fire is 7,750 acres and Lee Fire is 13,025 acres.

Hi! Responding to "complaining" (Outdoor Colorado's word) out-of-towners who looked for an outdoor adventure *without* knowing there was lots of risk and inconvenience should do lots of research before they visit CO. Colorado, like most of Europe does not treat their wilderness areas and their linking vehicular roads that are open to the public as if they were part of a theme park. As it is, way too much accommodation in recent years in our state and federal parks in CO has actually led to this confusion with tourists. In meeting the tourism industry (tourists) more than half-way, has, in my opinion, let tourists fantasize as to how effortless and risk-free being in the wilderness is. The tourism industry should help out. Not to demean the tourists, but to emphasize to them that by educating themselves about their destinations within the state, (with the online or brick-and-mortar tourist agency assisting), they can then be *totally honest* with themselves as to what risks and inconv
