The audio content drought is over! We're back once more to drench you in refreshing mobile gaming news. Specifically, James and Matt follow-up the LaunchPad #4 reveal of the newest Kingdom Rush game, and Matt gets far too excited about a ton of Sonic nonsense. New releases include the excellent retro side-scroller Huntdown, the weird but wonderful Samorost 1, and the iPad port of Divinity: Original Sin 2.
This week, James and Matthew share info about Rocket League coming to mobile courtesy of the decidedly weird Apple v Epic court hearings. They also look into the newly announced The Division Mobile, and discuss Nintendo's proposed movie plans. New release include New Pokemon Snap, One Escape, Golf Impact, Valley of the Savages, and more.
This week, James and Matthew are waiting for the textures to pop in the first footage of the Apex Legends Mobile beta. They also examine the potential of The Witcher Monster Slayer and whether it can become the next AR success, and celebrate Apple allowing Microsoft and Sony controllers to work with their devices. New releases include Pokemon Snap (reviewed next week), Summoners War: Lost Centuria, PewPew Live, Before I Forget, and more.
This week, James and Matt duck out of Pocket Gamer Connects Digital 6 for 30 minutes to do their podcast duty. That duty includes chat about Apple's trackers, a new Battlefield game made exclusively for mobile, and the 'real' Runescape appearing on your phone. New releases include Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus, Cut the Rope Remastered, SaFa Frontier Remastered, and more.
James and Matthew return to catch up on Nintendo's latest Indie World Showcase, and Sony's new initiative to bring its PlayStation franchises to mobile. New releases include the creator of Final Fantasy's newest RPG, Fantasian, epic AR adventure Shrouded Citadel, and the mobile port of Northgard.
A bittersweet episode this week as James and Matt are joined for the first - and last - time by PocketGamer.Biz editor and all-round excellent human Danielle Partis. In addition to bidding Danielle a fond farewell, the trio cover the impending loss of the PsVita and PSP digital store, along with the upcoming removal of Super Mario 3D All-Stars from the Nintendo eShop. New releases include Crash Bandicoot: On The Run, Project CARS GO, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and more.
James and Matthew regroup to look at Square Enix's upcoming mobile slate, including a new Hitman Sniper game, Just Cause: Mobile, and an AR Space Invaders game. New release include the Switch port of Apex Legends, Cobra Kai: Card Fighter, Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, and more.
*NEW HOST KLAXON* This week James welcomes newly-crowned deputy editor Stephen into the virtual booth to chat about Unruly Heroes, the newest incarnation of Journey to the West from ex-Rayman devs. They also cover the latest Call of Duty Mobile update, and let you know when League of Legends: Wild Rift will be available in the States. New releases include Necromunda: Gang Skirmish, Blind Drive, Arcane Golf, Slime Labs, and more.
After last week's LaunchPad #3 event, James returns to catch up with Matthew on the *checks notes* TWO exclusive Final Fantasy VII games on their way to mobile. They also cover the prospective specs of the new Switch Pro, the latest game from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and check out new releases including Clan N, Inviticus: Lost Soul, Queen: Rock Tour and more.
This week we take a look at the cascade of new announcements which tumbled from Nintendo's surprise Direct livestream, including remastered Zeldas, another Splatoon, and another excuse for Mario to pick up his golf clubs. There's also a mobile release date for Project Cars GO, and news of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus coming to tablets. New releases include Ghost Sync, Bowser's Fury, Fury of Dracula, and more.
This week James and Matthew examine the latest nail in Stadia's coffin, and the imminent arrival of Apex Legends on Switch - and hopefully mobile. New releases include The Captain is Dead, Crimson Company, Infinity Kingdom, and more.
James and Matthew go nuts this week - Nuts: A Surveillance Mystery that is - having spent a large chunk of it staring at VHS tapes looking for squirrels. They also take a peek at the the DICE Awards shortlist for Best Mobile Game, and investigate new releases including Dragon Quest Tact, the Android version of Slay the Spire, Bless Mobile, and more.
This week James and Matthew try to imagine what the Bond franchise would look like on mobile, and which mobile studio might make the best Star Wars game. They also cower before the might of super saiyan Bowser. New releases include Dadish 2, Questkeep, Cookie Run: Kingdom, and Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon.
As promised at the end of last year, James and Matthew are back to chat about the horror that was 2020, and the small gaming-shaped glimmers of light and joy that appeared through the overwhelming fog of awful. They also look ahead to the most anticipated mobile games of 2021.
Get 2020 in the bin, see you next year!
It's the morning after The Games Awards 2020. James is well-rested having ignored the entire thing, while Matthew is running on fumes after a late night infusion of 5 hours pure, uncut hype. There's a Just Cause mobile game on the horizon, new characters in Smash Bros. and Fortnite, and of course the results of the Mobile Game of the Year. New releases include the open beta of League of Legends: Wild Rift, Steamworld Quest, and a wee chat about XCOM 2 Collection.
Galactus has been vanquished from Fortnite, and you'll be pleased to hear our heroes James and Matthew had precisely nothing to do with it. In other news, we finally get some info about how the Apple Arcade games are faring in the wild. New releases include sci-fi FMV thriller The Complex, Startup Panic, WWE Undefeated, and more.
Normal service is resumed, with James and Matt back after weeks of digital conferences, online streaming initiatives, and other things that don't involve playing games. Happily there's plenty of news to catch up on, including a new Tomb Raider game, the final chapter in the Apple vs Epic saga, and the sequel to Fruit Ninja that everyone has been waiting for. Right? RIGHT?!
This week, James and Matthew catch Microsoft sneaking beneath the App Store's iron curtain and allowing you to play Xbox games on your iPhone (though perhaps not the way you intended). They also celebrate the first appearance of the original Fire Emblem game in the West, and the deets of the latest Dead Cells mobile update. New releases include Far: Lone Sails, Space Frog Intern, Spooky Squashers, and more.
James and Matt are back with hot Apple news - specifically, the reveal of this year's iPhones and their distinct lack of bundled accessories. They also cover Korn's appearance in World of Tanks: Blitz, and Xcom 2 Collection coming to mobile. New releases include Hot Wheels Unlimited, Poor Thief, Sword Master Story, and more.
