I flew onboard a Lufthansa 747-8 from Singapore to Frankfurt; however, while the experience promised so much, it fell short on many levels. Why though? Today, I reviewed the flight and where Lufthansa fell short. In March, I flew Scoot from Melbourne to Singapore aboard their Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the first time. I was lucky enough to board their one-of-a-kind Pokemon jet and experience what it had to offer. So, how did the airline stack up for value for money, was the seat comfortable, and would I fly the airline again? Here's my review of Scoot's 787. Over a month ago, Emirates unveiled their new livery, a refresh on a very iconic design that doesn't have much room for changes. I share my thoughts on the design, go over the fundamental changes made, explain why the Emirates livery always has some limitations and much more. In January, I attempted to travel to Seattle to celebrate with Boeing the final delivery of the iconic 747 series. However, the journey to the city didn't go exactly to plan, with a handful of missed flights, last-minute cancellations, baggage trouble and much more. Here's a documentation of one of my worst travel experiences. In November 2022, I had the pleasure of flying United Airlines onboard their E170 from Newark to Toronto, followed by an A330 with Air Canada from Toronto to Montreal and one more regional CRJ flight after that. This is my review and experiences onboard these aircraft, airlines, and airport visits. In this episode, I cover my nightmarish 14-hour layover in Newark following a flight from San Francisco to Newark Liberty. Today's topics cover dealing with United Airlines baggage staff who could not locate a missing piece of luggage and run-ins with Uber Eats drivers while coping with the madness of Thanksgiving as police escorts, roadblocks and traffic were all present—making for quite 14 hours before eventual departure into Toronto Pearson, Canada. The last 747 emerged from a painting in Portland. However, instead of sporting a retro livery representing that of RA001, the first 747 appeared with a standard Atlas Air livery featuring Apex Logistics decals. Why is this? Alaska Airlines has marked the end of an era by retiring its final Airbus A320, a rapid retirement following previous fleet announcements. The airline had already retired its A319s and now only has 10 Airbus aircraft remaining in its fleet. How it acquired its Airbu...
Melbourne will become the biggest city in Australia by 2030, and with this comes added constraints on an already busy airport. Melbourne will also subsequently overtake fierce rival Sydney. The city that Melbournians will tell you to steer well clear of. A spotlight has been shone on infrastructure, especially in the transportation sector, through the added growth. At the 151st IATA Slot Conference, held at the Melbourne Exhibition Center in the middle of November 2022, delegate...
Lidor Revah is the CEO of Imperium Jets. I had the opportunity to sit down with him to discuss Imperium Jets being a solution for private aviation in the future, focusing on the many positives. 2022 comes to a close, and it's time to reflect on the year, including the many ups and downs from attending the Northern Pacific Airways airline launch event to being fortunate enough to visit the 151st IATA Slot Conference and everything else in between as well. 2022 allowed for interviewing key executives at airports and airlines, alongside much more that wasn't comprehendible initially. I appreciate your support throughout 2022 and am thoroughly excited to see what 2023 brings. &n...
Bring Our Birds Home is a campaign headed by Paul Brennan to bring historic aircraft that once flew with Air New Zealand back to the country where they can be displayed to future generations, and the importance of their role in New Zealand's growth can be understood. Dan sits down with Paul Brennan for what can be best described as an emotional love letter to aviation, understanding why Paul does what he does, the process of obtaining aircraft currently stored around the world, from the Uni...
Dan recently sat down with Andrew Pyne, the CEO of Fly Atlantic, to discuss the carrier in-depth. Fly Atlantic aims to be the newest low-cost transatlantic airline and will be based in Northern Ireland, calling Belfast International home. Discussions surround the airline's challenges presented with a business model that has seen many airlines struggle, from Norwegian to PLAY to Norse and the collapsed WOW Air. Andrew Pyne's journey to becoming the CEO of the new airline, how they're looking...
Last month I had the opportunity to fly on the Boeing 757 with United Airlines for the very first time. Flying from San Francisco to Newark Liberty during thanksgiving week provided me with many twists and turns, including missing luggage, being the final person to board the aircraft, lengthy security queues and running through the airport, to name a few of the exciting moments!
