There was a pretty good movie of "The Other." Similar to "The Bad Seed." Also there was "The Birds" long before the 70s. Also on the youth front.."The Wild Ones" and pearl clutching over flappers on the 20s.
I don't think Anger knew Crowley personally since he was in England until 1947, but was introduced to his books while in college.
