Kelly is the newest general manager of The Edge Magazine out of Minneapolis. "The magazine is about spiritual practices and stories." Katy Vernon is a Minneapolis-based musician. “I write honest songs but accompany myself on the ukulele; it's a bouncy, fun instrument. And I’msinging about alcoholism and mental health.” Katy started writing music at a young age. “I started writing poems and songs when I was twelve; it was a way for me to express my inner thoughts and feelings.”Katy moved to the States when she met and married her husband, and she started taking music seriously during that time. “I’ve been writing and performing music for over twenty years.” Katy also performs in an ABBA tribute band, as well as solo projects and band projects. Gaelynn Lea is a violinist, vocalist, composer, and activist. She’s played in a few bands in Duluth, including Murder of Crows (with Allan Sparhawk of Low), Sobarn, and her own solo projects. She started playing violin in school and continued into adulthood. “I hold it like a cello.” Gaelynn gained more traction with activism when she gave a speech in Duluth about living with a disability. “I was surprised just how many people didn’t understand or even realize.” Since then, Gaelynn has been able to travel with her husband, Paul, doing shows, speeches, and theater. “Community and Inclusiveness are my main focus. Greg Schneider is a longtime photographer out of California. Originally based in St. Paul, Minnesota, Greg’s family moved to CA when he was five. “My father owned a window washing business with his brother…So I’ve always had a squeegee in my hand.” ”My family came over right before World War 2, 1938 .” Greg got into photography in high school and hasn’t stopped since. “I worked for church organizations after ten years at the newspaper. I am freelance now; after being let go because of cancel culture.” Greg still does amazing work, capturing people at the right moment. Karen Jean is travel blogger from Detroit. She grew up hearing the sounds of early 60's rock. "When the British Invasion happened, I at least knew of England and Liverpool." But growing up in the projects, Karen never thought traveling outside the USA would happen for her. Through hard work, dedication, and education she was able to obtain what seemed impossible. Lynette is an author, teacher, activist, and wife of musician Venus De Mars. She finally put pen to paper; and wrote about her life and partnership in the late 80's/early 90's. This memoir takes you through; struggles, understanding, and joy of marriage; but marriage with a twist. Lynette is married to a punk rocker.
