In this episode I meet with Lyosha Gorshkov, Exiled Queer Professor Co-President of RUSA LGBT, NYC and Founder of Brighton Beach Pride! We talk about insularity and homophobia of Brooklyn communities.  Don't forget to come to Brighton Beach Pride parade and to vote in the special election for district 45!
IAMDOV is a hip hop artist, rapper and producer from the Marine Park neighborhood in the southern part of Brooklyn! Dov explains how he honed his craft and sheds light onto the Brooklyn hip hop scene.
In this episode I meet with the Clean Bushwick Initiative. It got me thinking about what is gentrification and what are the modes in which gentrification occurs. Is it just about rent? Or does it encompass other facets of daily life including language, and your built environment. Is concern over garbage a sign of gentrification or is this part of any neighborhood regardless of socioeconomic status?   Attend the Sanitation Town Hall Monday Feb 4, 6pm at PS 376 - 194 Harman St.
Today I set my intentions to create a podcast that dives in to the issues, lives and work of Brooklyn residents. We also play a game of two truths and lie with Brooklyn news headlines. Can’t wait to listen!
