THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST

In this episode of The Troubadour Podcast, hosts Jared Pete Gile and Carly Evans sit down for a candid, long-form conversation with Texas Red Dirt standout William Clark Green about his deeply personal seventh studio album, Watterson Hall. Released in March 2026 on Bill Grease Records and produced by Logan Wall, the 14-track record marks a mature evolution in Green's songwriting, drawing from his life as a husband and father while exploring themes of family, love, loss, and resilience across standout cuts like the title track "Watterson Hall (Me & You)," "Whole Lotta Lubbock," "Where The Wild Things Are," and "Stubborn and Remains."   Green opens up about stepping outside his usual lane, including powerful co-writes with Travis Meadows (notably on "Stubborn and Remains" and "I Am the Kite"), as well as collaborations with Gary Stanton, Sean McConnell, and others, plus the real-life dancehall inspiration behind the project's heartfelt core. The conversation also shines a light on Green's passion for giving back through Cotton Fest—the annual three-day country music festival he founded in Lubbock, Texas (taking place June 25-27, 2026 at Cook's Garage with a stacked lineup including Flatland Cavalry, 49 Winchester, Josh Abbott Band, and more)—and the High Cotton Relief Fund, the 501(c)(3) he helped establish in 2018 to support West Texas cotton farmers and their families facing hardships like medical bills, funeral costs, and farm needs. Today's episode is the next in a group of interviews we recorded at Steamboat Music Fest this past January.  In this episode we interview Andy Hedges.  Andy is a songster, reciter, storyteller, guitarist, and collector of cowboy songs and poems. The son of an Italian schoolteacher and a rodeo cowboy turned preacher, Andy was born in Lubbock, Texas, in the spring of 1980. He grew up in the small community of Tokio, Texas, where his family paid rent on an old farmhouse by looking after a few head of cattle. It was there that Andy fell in love with traditional music by listening to his father's cassettes of cowboy songs.  Andy has had the honor of performing at places like the Grand Ole Opry and the Newport Folk Festival.  Andy is also a podcaster and hosts Cowboy Crossroads with Andy Hedges featuring his interviews with everyone from cowboy poets and musicians to working cowboys.  Enjoy the show! Today's episode is the next in a group of interviews we recorded at Steamboat Music Fest this past January.  In this episode we interview Doug Moreland.  Doug is an accomplished musician and chainsaw artist.  He's led an interesting life and is one of the funniest guys you'll ever meet.  I first saw Doug perform about 25 years ago at one of Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnics and he's still out there making people laugh, playing great music and making some amazing art through his chainsaw carvings.  It was great to have him on the show!   You can listen to all of our 200+ previous episodes by getting a  BACKSTAGE PASS by visiting our PATREON PAGE LINK https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=9861160&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thetroubadourpodcast.com%2Fsupport%2F&utm_medium=widget   GET HEALTHY WITH PETE LINK https://plexusworldwide.com/products?culture=en-US&sponsor=petegile   SWEETWATER AFFILIATE LINK  - Buy your gear using our affiliate link! https://www.sweetwater.com/?irclickid=zqw17qUMKxyNTm0SiXUTAXRYUkAzsJUCS0eM0I0&irgwc=1&utm_source=Impact&utm_medium=The%20Troubadour%20Podcast&utm_campaign=Online%20Tracking%20Link
