Anthony King from Force Ghost Conversations returns to talk about his recent time at Halcy-Con 2025, and event dedicated to fans of Disney's Galactic Starcruiser. Although it had 'sailed' its last time in 2023, many fans loved its immersive experience and have come to this second year of Halcy-Con to keep those memories alive and make some new connections. The 2025 National Sports Collectors Convention drew even larger crowds during its 5 day run at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois from July 30th to August 3rd. All kinds of cards and collectibles were up for sale or purchase. Card shops, card manufacturers, breakers, graders, sports figures, and content creators convened on the show floor and to help me recap all this action I was able to enlist some help:Ian Taylor that card collectors podcast @thatccpod on InstagramKarl Schmidt collector @pileo64 on InstagramSal Barry puck junk podcast @puckjunk on InstagramIan McKesson sketch artist @ianmckesson on instagramIf you have a question or comment, find me on the socials: Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky & Substack, @rebelbasecard Check out the TeePublic store and you can be helping out the show while finding some cool swag. https://www.teepublic.com/user/rebel-base-cardFind me on the Topps Digital Apps like Star Wars Card Trader, Marvel, Disney Collect and BUNT @CORNFEDTECHYou can also help out the show by rating The Rebel Base Card Podcast wherever you get your podcasts. A returning Rebel Base Card podcast series that asks more questions than it answers.Today On Breakfast Pack #108, it’s a little different show as co-host Greg Cass from eyeoncanon.com and I look ahead to what’s coming up in 2026. In order to help out we’ve asked a couple of special guests to help. Dennis Keithly, who is one half of Podcast Stardust comes on in hour one and then Colby Mead of the ColbyCast joins us in hour two. Due to all the great content that has happened just in the last few months, we are not limiting this discussion to STAR WARS, so a lot is on the plate for this Breakfast.Dennis Keithly - Podcast Stardust on RetroZapwww.retrozap.com/?p=57788@djkeithly, @j.snipscosplayColby Mead from the Colbycast@thecolbycast or @crosschecked3Podcast link: https://anchor.fm/colby-meadFind Greg on Instagram and Hive @eyeoncanon and at eyeoncanon.comThrough the glass columns podcast: A Wheel of Time podcasthttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/through-the-glass-columns-a-wheel-of-time-read-along-podcastid1632986026Also as part of the Long Take Review Podcasthttps://thelongtake.substack.com/podcastIf you have a questions for the Breakfast Pack ask on the socials, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, & BlueSky @rebelbasecard. Tom Gross, is the Co-Host of the Teachers in the Dungeon as well as the CWK Pour-Over podcast, but by day he is the Librarian of Washington Community HS, in Washington Illinois and the driving force behind the S.T.E.A.M. events that are held there. Powered by an army of student volunteers, they are coming up on the 10th iteration of this event which promotes Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Reading, and Math, all wrapped in a genre theme. Whereas in the past it has been STAR WARS, it has opened up to others including Marvel, Harry Potter, Fantasy & Gaming and a lot more. Tom returns back to the program to talk about S.T.E.A.M. into the STORYVERSE, which takes place on Saturday, January 10th. Yours truly will once again support the event by doing a podcast live on site and canvasing the area for interviews, but it is always great to sit down with Tom before the day begins. My thanks to Tom, Dan, and all the folks at WCHS for inviting me down to the event again. Hard to believe we’ve gotten to episode 200 of the main Rebel Base Card show but, since March of 2019 it’s been quite a ride. 310 shows in total, between, the Breakfast Pack, Second Breakfast and the main show. Since this falls at the end of the year, I thought I’d try something a little different. Throughout this year I have collected some audio that either didn’t make its own episode or was trimmed from another. But it makes for a nice recap of some of the big events of 2025:C2E2, Star Wars Celebration Japan, the ROTS 20th anniversary, Joliet Star Wars Day London Film and Comic Con and more!So I have several guests on for this 200th episode:Artist: Daniel Govar danielgovar.bigcartel.com Fantha Tracks contributor Ross Hollebon @popstarindy - @fanthatracksMy Breakfast Pack Co-host Gregory Cass from @eyeoncanon Revenge of the Sith for its 20th anniversary.Todd Hoffman of WSTR & Big T & lil’ T @tizzzzodArtist Karl Jones @bumcheeks2Anthony King of @forceghostconversationsMake sure you listen to the end for a special segment! If you have a question or comment, find me on the socials: Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky & Substack, @rebelbasecard Check out the TeePublic store and you can be helping out the show while finding some cool swag. Luke Winchester has hosted stages for MCM Comic Con, EGX and Showmasters, conducting stage and video interviews with renowned actors, puppeteers, game developers, stunt professionals, composers, creators and artists. As he puts it: “I speak to the people who bring the media I love to life.”I had a chance to meet Luke this summer at London Film & Comic Con. He has had a busy schedule since then, but we got to sit down and have a proper chat which I think ties in nicely to the holiday season. Held in the western Chicago Suburb of Carol Stream, Illinois the Chicago Non-Sport Card Show has been a bastion of card goodness for many years now. Over the two day event, attendees could browse several tables of non-sport cards and collectibles. Vendors return year after year to catch up with old friends and to delight attendees. Typically held twice annually, the fall show was held on October 17th and 18th. We talk with vendors Jason Beyer, returning guests Bill Hjelmgren from Lookey Here and Paul Maiellaro, former show runner and board member of Treasurechest.org - a charity he helps support during the show.Jason BeyerSidequestgamesandcollectibles.comsqgamesandcollectibles@gmail.comBill & Celeste Hjelmgren https://www.nonsportcardshows.com/Paul Maiellarohttps://www.treasurechest.org‘At the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, we believe every child fighting cancer deserves a moment of joy. It all started in 1993, when founder Colleen Kisel saw the comfort a small toy brought her son, Martin, during his cancer treatment. That simple gift sparked a big idea: bring smiles and comfort to kids facing the toughest battles. Today, Treasure Chest Programs have been established in 69 pediatric cancer centers across the country — with many still actively serving young patients. After a difficult procedure, each child gets to choose a toy, gift, or gift card — a small reward for their strength and bravery.’If you have a question or comment, find me on the socials: Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky & Substack, @rebelbasecard Check out the TeePublic store and you can be helping out the show while finding some cool swag. https://www.teepublic.com/user/rebel-base-cardFind me on the Topps Digital Apps like Star Wars Card Trader, Marvel, Disney Collect and BUNT @CORNFEDTECHYou can also help out the show by rating The Rebel Base Card Podcast wherever you get your podcasts.
