Middle East Comics & Geek Podcast

The biggest question fans - and naysayers, investors, critics and the world - have after watching the behemoth that was Avengers: Endgame is this: What next? What happens after Endgame? Which movies? Which superheroes? Which TV shows? What is Disney+?  In short: HOW WILL WE SURVIVE? In this episode I list the entire roster of known films and TV shows in production or announced as confirmed, as well as those strongly assured to go into production at some point as part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This is it. The end of all things. 22 movies, 11 years, countless heroes and stories, all culminating here. The Avengers: Endgame. And this is the podcast that uncovers all the Easter Eggs you may have missed, not the ones we know you know. :) The wallpaper art I've used was designed by HOPIZ:  https://hopiz.artstation.com/projects/EVNW84

There is nothing closer to my heart than bringing child abusers to justice.  That's why when I heard about Reality Girl, it piqued my interest. A series created by one of the women behind Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and one of the producers of Burqa Avenger, Reality Girl is Pakistan's latest superhero, focused around Sara, a girl of privilege who discovers her life is simply protecting her from the reality of others' problems, particularly children. She then devotes her life to fighting crimes against kids and to bringing child abusers to justice - or bringing them justice of her own. In this podcast I speak with the creators behind Reality Girl about women in comics and the release of their new character.

In this episode I was lucky to have Khaya Ahmed, one of the creators of the Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel universe. She shares her thoughts on women in comics, what Ms. Marvel means to girls like her and what went into the creation of Kamala Khan.

This is the first in a series of podcasts on women in the comics industry - whether as characters, creators or readers. This inaugural episode last year in the series featured Sonia J Ashraf, one of Pakistan's leading voices in cosplay and women in comics. Sonia is an avowed Green Lantern fan and a major Jessica Cruz fangirl.
