Description

Creativity Wasted is a podcast where a group of creative people get together, and we each share an idea that we're not planning on pursuing in real life, such as an invention idea that's outside our area of expertise, a futuristic sci-fi movie idea, or an evil prank idea. And rather than just letting the idea quietly slip away, we get some fun out of it by joking about it together.

Idea: A murder mystery movie set at a Valentine's Day standup comedy and karaoke show where a male comic who's the love interest of the two female show-runners is murdered on stage by a cupid's arrow. Also: the physics of killing someone with a cupid's arrow; wondering about the mythological cupid's motivation; making your funeral fun instead of trying to maximizing how much people grieve for you; who in the local comedy scene would be cast in the movie Pam Krugman (facebook.com/pam.krugman youtube.com/@pamkrugman6858) Yogi Singh (facebook.com/theyogmeister instagram.com/theyogmeister) Brandon Birk Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A restaurant that specializes in White Castle style sliders (which Brandon knows how to cook) and is themed around dirty jokes relating to "sliding into someone's DMs" and sexting, such as "DICK PICKles", ketchup packets labelled as "Sup?", and placemats with people's faces on them so you can get sauce all over them. Also: ordering the food via text using dirty talk and emojis; the wait staff could either "play it straight", talk dirty and use dirty jokes and puns, or act super offended; having a separate room behind a video store style beaded doorway for the more explicitly adult-themed jokes and menu, so normal people and maybe even kids can feel comfortable in the main area of the restaurant Pam Krugman (facebook.com/pam.krugman youtube.com/@pamkrugman6858) Yogi Singh (facebook.com/theyogmeister instagram.com/theyogmeister) Brandon Birk Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: To train artificial intelligence (AI) based on your jokes (i.e. nobody else's jokes) and have it suggest new jokes for you based on your style. Also: incorporating audience reaction to your jokes in the AI training algorithm; configuring the AI to suggest jokes slightly outside of your usual style (for example, dirtier jokes); bad AI and privacy concerns on Netflix and social media; having AI generate smells based on audio/visual input, including fart smells based on the sound of the fart (FartGPT) Pam Krugman (facebook.com/pam.krugman youtube.com/@pamkrugman6858) Yogi Singh (facebook.com/theyogmeister instagram.com/theyogmeister) Brandon Birk Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A very long rollercoaster divided into 5 track segments, where each segment is it's own ride (with, for example, a jungle theme or a space theme), and the lines for the 5 rides criss-cross and get occasionally switched up, so you don't know which track segment of the rollercoaster you're gonna ride, and therefore you don't know how many hills or loops you'll experience. Also, the audio/visual/effects around the rollercoaster could be reprogrammed to instantly update/change the theme of the ride. The goal is to make a simple rollercoaster always feel fresh and new and unpredictable. Also: customizing the rollercoaster visuals for a wedding proposal; occasionally having an extra-long ride that uses more than one track segment; passing out on rollercoasters (and other places) Niko Lukoff (linktr.ee/LaughYourLukoff) Justin Hicks (facebook.com/justin.hicks.92798) Skippy Rose (instagram.com/skippyrosecomedy youtube.com/@SkippyRoseComedy) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Ideas: A dustpan with a hand-powered pump/suction attachment to suck up the last line of dirt; a periscope for short people to use at concerts to see the stage. Also: preventing people from using the concert periscope upside-down for lewd voyeuristic purposes; sitting on someone's shoulders during a concert is a dick move; the joy of watching animals freak out during an eclipse and the despair of failing to see the Northern Lights in Michigan Niko Lukoff (linktr.ee/LaughYourLukoff) Justin Hicks (facebook.com/justin.hicks.92798) Skippy Rose (instagram.com/skippyrosecomedy youtube.com/@SkippyRoseComedy) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A gritty, realistic, HBO-style drama about an amoral social expert/negotiator/facilitator who works on contract to help solve problems for people or organizations, such as facilitating illegal commerce, helping a president avoid a scandal, helping someone get a date, etc. Also: avoiding the hacky network TV "genius protagonist" procedural format ("Lie to Me", "The Pretender", "Numb3rs", etc.) where the main character is too smart/powerful or making the main character's skill(s) relevant to each episode/plotline stretches believability; a backstory in which the main character honed his social skills in the mob but then the mob dissolved and so he went solo; the main character is like James Bond making witty comments at the Baccarat table but then there's no gunfight and everyone just peacefully walks away (like a Bond movie made in a world where movie violence isn't allowed); maybe the main character has almost supernatural social skills but can't get along with his family and repeatedly bombs at standup comedy open mics Niko Lukoff (linktr.ee/LaughYourLukoff) Justin Hicks (facebook.com/justin.hicks.92798) Skippy Rose (instagram.com/skippyrosecomedy youtube.com/@SkippyRoseComedy) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A delayed-release pill or drink to give you energy in 5 hours so (for example) you can wake up with full energy instead of having to make coffee and wait for it to kick in. Also: it could also contain instant-release Melatonin to both help you sleep now and help you wake up later; springing up when you wake up like Bruce Willis in "Pulp Fiction" and sending the pet who was sleeping on your chest flying across the room; using it on your shared-custody kids so their energy kicks in shortly after you drop them off; similar products called "In 5 Hours Alcohol" to mellow you out during an early afternoon work meeting and "In 5 Hours Nicotine" to help you cope with the stress of a visit to the in-laws Niko Lukoff (linktr.ee/LaughYourLukoff) Justin Hicks (facebook.com/justin.hicks.92798) Skippy Rose (instagram.com/skippyrosecomedy youtube.com/@SkippyRoseComedy) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: To give prisoners the option to get out early if we amputate their arms (or put them in arm-locking exoskeletons) and give them AI robots to monitor them and care for them. Because if these robots of the near-future can do everything, not having arms would no longer be debilitating. Also: robots or exoskeletons with cameras and AI could monitor you while you're on probation, and detect, for example, if a white collar criminal tries to violate the terms of their probation by using a computer; the risk of the family members of armless prisoners on probation taunting them mercilessly because they can no longer fight back; using AI robots to monitor and care for those with mental disabilities; a previous idea on this podcast that offended people on social media (like this idea might do) Justin Siekierka (instagram.com/random_banana_entertainment_) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: To withhold announcing the cause of someone's death until their funeral so people can try to guess the cause of death and win prize(s) (maybe even the inheritance). Also: 'cause of death' reveal presentations; the family could take a percentage of the bets to help pay for the funeral; a back-and-forth discussion on whether this would lead to less or more murder; being peer-pressured into having an interesting death; Tom's guess of Justin's cause of death almost already happened in a close call Justin Siekierka (instagram.com/random_banana_entertainment_) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: "Night lights" to help you go to the bathroom at night without turning on bright lights and fully waking you up, including both glow-in-the-dark footprints leading to the toilet and a glow-in-the-dark ring around the inside of the toilet. Also: questioning whether toilet night lights already exist in some form, possibly as a bidet with a light on it; the risk of an assassin moving the glow-in-the-dark footprints in order to lead someone to their doom Mark Hamilton (facebook.com/mgamarkhamilton instagram.com/markhamilton6352) Tommy Cook (instagram.com/tommycooklol https://tommycooklol.carrd.co/) Angela Verges (facebook.com/angela.verges https://linktr.ee/HottFlash) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A tiny house where almost everything in the house (even furniture) is on hangers, and robots move the stuff on hangers across a series of interconnected racks/rods (including power lines that also function as hanger rods), so it can easily be stored in the ceiling or sent to a neighborhood warehouse to be stored and/or cleaned. Also: keeping bugs and pets on the ground from reaching your stuff; transporting stuff on power lines would prevent package thieves from stealing it; since everything is on hangers you could lift up the top of the tiny house and slide in a themed bottom part; curing the modern epidemic of stubbed and mangled toes Brian Atkinson (https://brianacomedian.com facebook.com/BrianAcomedian) Amanda VK (instagram.com/amandavk_does_comedy) C-Dub (instagram.com/budsfromcdub) Morgan Sterling (facebook.com/morgbot) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: Scented candles with scents that most people would find bad, but which you enjoy, such as gasoline, lawn clippings, Newports (which smell like home), etc. Also: a prank candle that smells like natural gas; using a foul-smelling scented candle to intentionally end a bad Netflix-and-Chill session; a scented candle made from belly button lint that sparkles when the small hairs ignite Brian Atkinson (https://brianacomedian.com facebook.com/BrianAcomedian) Amanda VK (instagram.com/amandavk_does_comedy) C-Dub (instagram.com/budsfromcdub) Morgan Sterling (facebook.com/morgbot) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A movie about evil mooses (sic), possibly a zombie-moose-infused remake of the movie The Sound of Music. Also: Cocaine Bear but with moose and pot; evil moose attacking a mall during Christmas; using AI to recreate old movies scenes but then having evil moose kill everybody; why Tom thinks that almost every movie made before 1984 sucks Brian Atkinson (https://brianacomedian.com facebook.com/BrianAcomedian) Amanda VK (instagram.com/amandavk_does_comedy) C-Dub (instagram.com/budsfromcdub) Morgan Sterling (facebook.com/morgbot) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A TV show like Californication starring a senior-aged but still attractive and promiscuous protagonist, only in this case, it's a woman. Also: there should more female equivalents of a "silver fox" who's "still in the game" and "all the dudes still drool over"; an awkwardly long conversation about older actresses we find attractive and whether they'd be a good fits for the role, such as Jennifer Coolidge, Emma Thompson, Annette Bening, and Andie MacDowell; brainstorming a plot, such as a sex addiction counselor who has to hide her own sex addition, a show similar to "Poker Face" where a woman uses her attraction to bad men to help her solves crimes, and a show about a conservative female politician's embarrassingly wild mother who's actions repeatedly put her daughter's political career at risk Brian Atkinson (https://brianacomedian.com facebook.com/BrianAcomedian) Amanda VK (instagram.com/amandavk_does_comedy) C-Dub (instagram.com/budsfromcdub) Morgan Sterling (facebook.com/morgbot) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A product (Mucinex pill, nasal spray, etc.) that gives your phlegm a delicious flavor of your choosing when you have a cold. Also: causing Amanda to get more and more grossed out by the idea; romantic partners using complementary flavors before getting intimate; "hocking a loogie" and how dogs would want to lick it up if it was flavored Brian Atkinson (https://brianacomedian.com facebook.com/BrianAcomedian) Amanda VK (instagram.com/amandavk_does_comedy) C-Dub (instagram.com/budsfromcdub) Morgan Sterling (facebook.com/morgbot) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A large battering ram for police to use to conduct raids where their body is safely inside the bulletproof battering ram. Also: a dog-like or centipede-like battering ram with robotic legs where one cop lays down inside of it; a multi-person parade-dragon-style battering ram where their upper bodies are inside of it and their lower bodies are protected by bulletproof boots and bulletproof hoop skirts; it could also be used for animal control, firefighters, or for camping inside of it; it's kind of like an above-ground version of that ill-fated deep-water submarine if it was powered by the Flintstones Mark Hamilton (facebook.com/mgamarkhamilton instagram.com/markhamilton6352) Tommy Cook (instagram.com/tommycooklol https://tommycooklol.carrd.co/) Angela Verges (facebook.com/angela.verges https://linktr.ee/HottFlash) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A social media app to show off and/or request karaoke or lip-syncing videos from your friends or from celebs. Also: paying people to help them overcome their shyness to do karaoke for you; the app could only allow the recipient to see the video once or only allow the singer to attempt the song once; wanting to see other people sing badly but not wanting to do it yourself Mark Hamilton (facebook.com/mgamarkhamilton instagram.com/markhamilton6352) Tommy Cook (instagram.com/tommycooklol https://tommycooklol.carrd.co/) Angela Verges (facebook.com/angela.verges https://linktr.ee/HottFlash) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A smart watch that monitors a menopausal woman's body and alerts her (and optionally her husband on his "Man-On-Pause" device) if her mood or body temperature is about to change. Also: things that bring on hot flashes; the device could include controls for (or it could automatically adjust) the temperature of a room or mattress, play calming music, etc.; a menopause-themed party game; a horror movie where social media accidentally causes the menstrual cycles of all the women of the world to sync up Mark Hamilton (facebook.com/mgamarkhamilton instagram.com/markhamilton6352) Tommy Cook (instagram.com/tommycooklol https://tommycooklol.carrd.co/) Angela Verges (facebook.com/angela.verges https://linktr.ee/HottFlash) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: A straw to use to suck up popcorn so you don't get butter or salt on your hands. Also: A romantic popcorn straw for two, which might accidentally create a competition for the popcorn that harms the relationship; accessories such as a popcorn shovel, a filter so you don't choke on the popcorn when sucking it through the straw, etc.; a popcorn straw helmet, which might cause the people sitting behind you to steal your popcorn Mark Hamilton (facebook.com/mgamarkhamilton instagram.com/markhamilton6352) Tommy Cook (instagram.com/tommycooklol https://tommycooklol.carrd.co/) Angela Verges (facebook.com/angela.verges https://linktr.ee/HottFlash) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetant.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Idea: For the US to save money by no longer making nickels, but to keep making pennies, because prices ending in .99 are cool, and you can just use five pennies instead of a nickel. Also: keeping pennies because Lincoln (who's on the penny) is better than Jefferson (who's on the nickel); getting annoyed by parking meters which require apps or don't take pennies; destroying Scott's pep by not agreeing with him about the nickel thing Shilpa Rege (facebook.com/shilparege instagram.com/shilparege) Scott Sviland (instagram.com/allergy_probs facebook.com/scott.sviland) Devarron Thomas (facebook.com/devarron instagram.com/skinnyfatdude1) Chase Richard (linktr.ee/imchaserichard youtube.com/@dogcomicproductions) Tom Walma (https://creativitywasted.com twitter.com/thomaswalma twitch.tv/gameymcfitness) This podcast is part of Planet Ant Podcasts (https://planetantpodcasts.com) This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
