YouTube tried to erase us — but they can’t kill the tape Halfway through our live breakdown of The L.A. Riot Spectacular (2005), the broadcast suddenly disappeared with zero warning while we were still on air, still talking, still laughing at the mysteriously empty viewer count. No strike notice. No explanation. Just gone. So here it is — the full, resurrected episode. We finally dig into one of the strangest spoof comedies ever made: an Airplane-style gag movie about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Directed by music-video veteran Marc Klasfeld and starring Snoop Dogg, Emilio Estevez, and T.K. Carter, the film plays like ZAZ chaos dropped straight into one of the most combustible moments in modern American history. We break down how it got made, what works (if anything), what absolutely doesn’t, and why this thing even exists — plus what actually happened when the original stream vanished mid-recording. PLUS: Battle of the Bands, What We’ve Been Watching, and the content YouTube was TOO AFRAID to air.----- Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
Subscribe to Movie Melt TV On Youtube - I WANT MY MMTV!! Before we’ve even covered a straight-up W.A.V.E. movie, in true Movie Melt fashion we went the deep-cut route — diving into the W.A.V.E. Productions extended universe through one of their oldschool regulars who went on to make her own fascinating work: Pamela Sutch. We went LIVE on YouTube to discuss Pamela’s GENETICS (2008) — a SOV body-swap vanity project extraordinaire. We also get into other New Jersey DIY films that refuse to die, and Gary Whitson’s W.A.V.E. influence in the mix. Recorded LIVE with listeners in the chat as it happened. It's our casual 10-year celebration of the show with more vanity project insanity from a man who calls himself Jah and his gangster-buddy-heist passion project. Things get contentious (and kinda thirsty) when we discuss our fashion red lines in the sand, and somehow it all comes back to deez nuts. Plus a battle of the bands! Join our Patreon if you can! It’s a full-on wiener roast as we nerd out with The Baron Against the Demons, a Spanish fantasy oddity that plays like The Dark Crystal colliding with the Star Wars prequels and an all-consuming fertility obsession. It’s puppets, miniatures, foam-muscle warriors, green screens, archaic CGI, and body horror pushed as far as $200 can possibly go. We're pouring ourselves a nice warm cup of Sheitan (2006) — the nasty French holiday horror where twitchy Satanist Vincent Cassel plays the backwoods host-with-the-most, throwing a group of Parisian club kids the most aggressively uncomfortable Christmas they've ever been trapped at. Drink it hot. Drink it fast. Because it's a mean cup of Sheitan! PLUS: Battle of the Bands: Holiday Edition, Russian-Dub Karaoke, and way too much eggnog! Our hero Youfonso Martindale karate-chops and side-kicks his way through a plot that technically exists somewhere under all the noise… and we are the only podcast manly enough to take it on. For Hallweenus we venture into the black hole of early-2000s DTV — where a melodramatic group of mid-thirtysomething “teens” are haunted by a pajama-wearing Headless Horseman who looks like a Phish tourhead. A wrestler, a madman with a super-powered rubber glove, and a space princess with an Ewok sidekick walk into a neon-lit fever dream. What do they find? Chubby motorcycle luchadores, bald men with ponytails, and an El Santo movie tailor-made for the early ’90s. This week, CDR beams with national pride as pleather-clad Canadian hero Vampiro sinks his fangs into the role he was genetically engineered to play: himself! MM#210 Evil Toons (1992)

2025-07-1704:31:15

We’ve name-dropped him dozens of times… and yet this is our first actual Fred Olen Ray episode?! Unbelievable, but true. Carlo stays up way past his bedtime to tell us all about Evil Toons (1992)—a movie full of unkept promises. It definitely does have a haunted book, Monique Gabrielle, and 45 seconds of a bad scary wolf that’s animated though! Plus: Gary Coleman news, Heather rearranging magnets on her fridge in an effort to not lose her mind, what we’ve been watching, and so much more! Join our Patreon if you can! Too much gay crashed Matt’s hard drive (yes, another one!), and so our final 2025 Pride episode is dropping on the 4th of July. Fitting, because what’s more American than repressed senators dating twink heirs to a popcorn fortune? Just like this week's movie: Traveling to Olympia (2001), a queer shot-on-video headscratcher set in the Pacific Northwest—the Wakanda for Gays, apparently. We follow Johnny, a traumatized twink with a duffel bag and one facial expression, as he washes dishes, processes trauma, and parties at gay cowboy bars—with beautiful musical interludes from the PNW greatest crooners. This is a weird one! Follow Gerald's horrorslumberparty Follow Cory's Self-Help Youtube Mixtapes Hope This Helps Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
Happy Pride! We get probed by Suroh: Alien Hitchhiker (1996)—the queer, trippy, E.T. sci-fi oddity about interdimensional lust, alien contact, and sexual awakening in the Arizona desert. Plus: A gay Battle of the Bands, Auntie Boy (!), orgone energy, what we’ve been watching, and more! Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
Possibly the greatest vanity project ever made... again! We’re revisiting GetEven (aka Champagne & Bullets, aka Road to Revenge)—a redux of Episode 3 where we first stumbled into one of the most tippy-top-shelf vanity projects in existence. This episode’s a three-fer. It puts a temporary end to our evil "feel-bad" movie streak. It gives us a chance to revisit a film we love. And it continues our tribute to the patron saint of the podcast, Wings Hauser. This one’s got heavy hitters—William Smith, Pamela Bryant, Wings—and at the center of it all, a man with an ego... err... dream, trial lawyer John Isaac De Hart III. Plus: Battle of the Bands, what we’ve been watching, slick stuff, neat stuff, etc.! Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
Carlo takes us into the cosmic void with Rat Scratch Fever (2011)—Jeff Leroy’s creature-feature about mutant rats from Mars that rip through Los Angeles using every special effect known to man: CGI, practical gore, puppets, stop-motion, green screen, etc. It’s an ambitious no-budget feat that must be seen to be believed! Plus: what we’ve been watching, 20,000 calorie meals, coochie rats, and more! Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
We hit the filthy, scum-ridden streets of Los Angeles alongside our late patron saint and cult icon, Wings Hauser, in Street Asylum (1990). It’s got all the things we love—Wings Hauser, fascistic police brutality, and G. Gordon Liddy having kinky S&M sex. This is our toilet-humor tribute to the man we love most. The Sensitive Boys™ are back to discuss Menahem Golan’s attempt at Cannon Films 2.0! It’s sleazy, brainless, and probably funded by the Russian mob—a pants-falling-down, mid-slam-dunk spectacle starring Billy Drago, Joe Lara, and Richard Lynch: DEATH GAME! Synopsis: A young man is a growing basketball star in his school. The Mob decides to initiate him and manage him. He likes the presents, money and girls, but his coach does not. When things go too far, only his coach can do what must be done. Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!
