This was a very imbalanced message! Are we lifting the name of Jesus? Or the name of one man? The first twelve minutes of this seemed more focused on doing the latter. I understand that he wants us not to be indifferent to loss as it quickly dehumanises us. However, no human being can cope with the contemplation of all death. All day. Every day. We are not capable of it. Death, whether physical or otherwise, is the price we pay for living in an imperfect world. It's cold to say that, but it's true. But Jesus conquered death so all hope is not lost hope when placed in Jesus.

It is SO good to hear responsible teaching on the nature of healing! For those suffering, God is not angry with you, nor is He punishing you. He is calling out through the midst of your suffering to draw your attention to His presence right where you are! He is with you in your worry to strengthen you in your struggle. Don't worry. Struggles don't last. Only eternity lasts.

It makes such a change to hear responsible teaching on good works from a Christian perspective. Our works don't, and never will, get us into heaven; only faith in God through Christ will.

On point teaching, once again, from Pastor Eric. We are going in a direction and even travelling nowhere will take us somewhere. Let's be sure that that "somewhere" is where we're meant to be!

This is why I always love hearing Pastor Bill speak; this man of God's messages are always so timely! God has definitely used this message to remind me why making time in my schedule for my Bible is important every day and not every now and then.

Spoken with true relevance in a time where it is only too easy, even as a Christian, to criticise those in power. Even if we don't agree with everything everybody says, the least we can do is to respect one another's opinions. We are all different so we will never be in complete agreement. Yet we can, believe it or not, co-exist in harmony if we will only lay to rest once in a while our egos and our need to be right.

Some good teaching today from Bill Johnson. It is just sad that some churches have turned the kind of teaching style Bill has brought in this message into a system to abuse people through non-accountability and tolerance when others are abusive towards you. Abuse, in ANY form, is unacceptable today.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with Kris on his comments about God not being in control. Any claim that God is not in control is not only incorrect, it is also a Biblically inaccurate statement to make. To imply that God is not in control because there's murder completely misses the point that it is MAN that sins by committing those heinous acts like murder. You could argue that God murdered His Son, but that is not true as Jesus Himself said that no one takes His life from Him, He willingly lays it down (see John 10v18). The fact is that GOD in His infinite wisdom is able to make all things, note ALL things, work together for the good of them that love Him. Littered throughout scripture are examples of man's sin and God's ability to counter-balance it culminating through the cross and the finished work of Jesus. That doesn't sound like a God who is not in control.

Thank you for your teaching today, Candace. We can spend time telling one another how to love each other better but that should never come at the expense of loving ourselves first. After all, Jesus told us that we are to love one another AS we love ourselves (Mark 12v30-31). Loving others needs to come out of the overflow of us experiencing God's love for us. As God loves US, we can love ourselves and it's not wrong to do that. What IS wrong is keeping that overflow to ourselves instead of passing it on to those around us.

Thank you for your teaching today, Pastor Bill. The way you teach really encourages me and challenges me to be all that God has called me to be. This particular teaching inspires me to press into prayer all the more as I see "the glorious day coming" Titus 2v12-13.
