Pastor Jason takes a look at the beautiful prophecy from Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. In this prophecy we see the real meaning of Christmas... a rescue mission.
The following teaching is from the house church that currently meets in Jason and Regina's living room in Lengefeld, Germany. Jason is currently teaching through the Gospel of John. The teachings are given in English and then translated into German. The recording quality isn't always the best, but it hopefully gives you the feeling that you are in the house with them! May God bless you as you listen and may you be drawn closer to Jesus.
Have you ever felt God was a million miles away? Have you ever felt that God was looking on idly while evil seems to run ramped? You are not alone. Habakkuk, a man of God, grappled with the same questions. But, he ends up expressing one of the most incredible proclamations of faith and praise. How did the transformation occur? Listen as Pastor Jason gives an overview of this powerful, little, book. May you be encouraged and full of faith and praise after you hear it
Just a short devotional thought as we approach Christmas. Jesus came to save and is coming again to rule. (please excuse the poor audio quality).
Joshua 3:1-6

Joshua 3:1-6

2021-01-2930:08

This is a special message given at Calvary Chapel Petaluma. Pastor Jason gives a lesson on faith from Joshua 3.
"Choose who you are going to serve. If God is God, follow Him, if Baal is god, follow him; but you cant do both!"- That is the message of Elijah to God's people in this classic chapter. As Pastor Jason points out, it is just as relevant to us today. Though this chapter is about Elijah battling the prophets of Baal, it is really about God battling for the hearts of His people. That same battle rages today. God wants our hearts.
Here in Mark 5, Pastor Jason looks at one of the "weirdest" stories in Jesus' ministry. Though there are some strange details to this encounter, at it's core it is the story of a man who was "sought and saved" by Jesus! It is also a picture of the gospel.
All of us at one time or another will face a crisis. It is in those times that faith is all important. In Isaiah 7, King Ahaz is in the crisis of his life. God sends Isaiah to bring an encouragement and an exhortation.
Feeling overwhelmed? Worried? Stressed? In this life it is so easy to be overwhelmed by anxiety. In 1 Peter 5:7, Peter exhorts us to cast (throw) those anxieties upon the Lord. This is a wonderful text and will no doubt bring you encouragement.
If ever there were a time when the church needs to be awakened again to the power, privilege and priority of prayer, it's now. In Acts 4 we get to join with the early church in a special prayer meeting and learn some important & timely lessons.
Leviticus 27

Leviticus 27

2020-09-2853:21

In this last chapter in Leviticus, Moses passes down regulations regarding "vows". Thought this chapter is something of an "appendix" to what Moses has already delivered, God clearly had more He wanted to communicate. Once more we will find practical application for our lives as well.
Leviticus 26

Leviticus 26

2020-09-2150:28

Someone has said, "Large doors swing on small hinges". The "small hinge" of chapter 26 is the word "if". As we near the end of Leviticus, Moses breaks into a "mini sermon" on the importance of obedience! He tells them very pointedly that if they obey, there would be blessings and if they disobey there would be discipline. Once more we will see how all of this applies to us!
Chapter 25 deals with one of the most unique and wonderful events on the Jewish calendar, the Year of Jubilee. Once more we will see how it all points to Jesus, who is our true "Jubilee"!
Leviticus 24

Leviticus 24

2020-09-0348:21

From the annual feasts to the daily duties of the tabernacle, chapter 24 continues the handing down of the law. Once more we see Jesus in all of the details.
Leviticus 23 The Feasts

Leviticus 23 The Feasts

2020-08-2701:01:06

Pastor Jason takes us through one of the most remarkable chapters in the Bible. Chapter 23 deals with the seven feasts of Israel. However, this  chapter not only provides a calendar for their feasts, it also provides a "Calendar" for God's plan of redemption.
Leviticus 21-22

Leviticus 21-22

2020-08-2050:44

With great privilege and position comes great responsibility. Here in chapters 21-22 of Leviticus, we see that the privilege of being a priest came with a higher degree of expectation in character and conduct. The same is true of us as New Testament  "believer-priests".
There is a big difference between "saying prayers", and "crying out to God"! Pastor Jason take a detour from the Leviticus study to revisit one of the most famous prayers in the Bible. There are times in our lives when we need to passionately cry out to the Lord. May this message encourage you and spur you on in your prayer life.
Leviticus 19-20

Leviticus 19-20

2020-08-1353:54

Pastor Jason continues his study through Leviticus. In this section Moses is communicating various laws related to "Holy Living" or living lives that are "set apart to God". Once more we will see how all of this ties in with us living under the New Covenant.
Chapter 19 seems like a collection of random rules at first glance. But, we will see some very important themes develop as we look closer. Within this section is what Jesus called the second greatest commandment, "love your neighbor as yourself".
Chapter 18 continues a section of of Leviticus dealing with regulations for the Israelites as it related to holy living. God exhorts Israel not to live like they did in Egypt (where they just came from) or like they lived in Canaan (where they were headed), but to live live separated unto HIm. Specifically, this chapter deals with regulations regarding sexual relationships. In a sex-saturated world, this in extremely timely and relevant.
