Gene Ressler is the software guy for the Bridge Design Contest. That's full stack designer and developer plus system operating engineer. He has a couple of other, more limited open source offerings: Sketch, a processor for a small 3d modeling language that emits LaTeX for simple but beautiful diagrams and figures.
