I grew in Weare and I learn it from my mom he also grew up in town and hae learned it in school in town
Tall Barney sounds like a mean drunk and a bully. I'd rather admire Ethan Allen Crawford, "Giant of the Mountains."
William "The Refrigerator" Perry wasn't a running back, he was a defensive lineman who they used a few times for short yardage. Think Mike Vrable, a linebacker who played Tight end a couple of times a year and caught 10 TD passes from Brady.
What a terrfic Halloween gift! Thanks for the performance, guys!
I always wondered if my dad’s story about this place was true. Great episode!
Love this show, thanks for Jim Harold for turning me onto the show. That being said, are you every going to do the legend of Giles Corey's curse?
It seems like you always do folklore from european settler communities, I would really like to hear some new england folk lore from native American communities! They have some really good stories.
I don't think it's fair to call him a murderer. Or maybe it is, but should still be remembered because his culture was decimated by european diseases, and then his only son died (maybe) by mistake.
I really appreciate this podcast, thank you for putting these together!
yaay! I knew we had folk lore.
Awesome podcast!! Happy I found it! Interesting topics and the hosts are really great! 👌
im from.west haven too.
Awesome and intriguing topics! I love how you both tell these amazing stories!
Cool :)
Decent until episode 39 or so. The intro and outro get annoyingly lengthy after this, the Patreon panhandling is grating, and the stories feel shorter. It ends up feeling like a waste of 5 minutes with 8 minutes of actual content.
Just found this podcast and so far it's great, hope it gains more listeners and continues on.
