This episode dives into a game-changing productivity tool: The Eisenhower Matrix (also known as the Urgent-Important Matrix). This four-quadrant framework challenges the common mistake business owners make of confusing mere urgency with true importance. You’ll hear me break down the four quadrants: Do, Schedule, Delegate, and Delete – and illustrate the importance of protecting your time by correctly classifying tasks. To help you dedicate proper time to these high-value activities, I introduce the concept of the Deep Work Block. This is a scheduled, distraction-free time slot—typically 2-3 hours—dedicated only to demanding tasks that move your business forward. You’ll also learn powerful techniques for implementing your own Deep Work Block, including the “Creation Before Consumption” Rule and creating a Sensory Deprivation Chamber. To fully understand the power of this matrix and follow along with the examples, be sure to visit the show notes page where you’ll find the complete Eisenhower Matrix graphic, at: prosperouspetbusiness.com/podcast166. Today’s coaching client is Randye, a pet business owner in Pennsylvania who is pivoting her .. business to create a totally different type of service: she wants to create a mobile cat nail trimming business.  The good news: she has no competitors in her area and in the past she created a successful service-based pet business.  The challenge: This is a brand-new service in her area cat owners are not even aware of exists. Many of the cat owners she may be trying to reach are likely having their cat’s nails cut by a groomer or vet – or they are doing it themselves. It’s also a very different type of service than her prior business, so that requires a different start up strategy. But, more good news: Randye is motivated, passionate and ready to do the work to start and grow her new business!  If you’d like to add a new service to your current business, or you’re thinking about starting a brand-new pet business, this episode will help you. If you’re struggling to make money and/or you’ve got a scarcity mindset that is making you feel hopeless about your financial future (example: “there’s not enough”, “I can’t earn enough”, “I’ll never earn enough”, etc.), or you just want to give yourself a leg up when it comes to improving your financial situation, affirmations can help! Affirmations are an empowering way to reprogram the brain and get the neuropathways in a groove that is more in alignment with what you want, rather than what you may be telling yourself with negative thought loops.  It can take 21 days to build a habit or strengthen mental muscles, so I encourage you to say affirmations every day for 3 weeks.  Affirmations can also help motivate actions so notice and act on any inspired actions that may come to mind as you build this 21-day “healthy relationship to money” habit.  Visit the show notes page at: www.prosperouspetbusiness.com/money-affirmations Click to apply to be coached on the Prosperous Pet Business podcast. Luis has been in business for 12 years in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He has a thriving dog walking business. Lately his clients have been using his pet service as more of a ‘ride share app” (using his services periodically instead of consistently) which has made planning very difficult because his clients aren’t being consistent and scheduling regular, ongoing service like they used to do. Many have also been requesting his service during his off hours (early in the morning and late at night) which is creating a lot of stress for him and his team.  He wants to provide an easeful experience for his clients but not if it continues to cause stress the way it has been lately. If you are struggling with setting boundaries with your clients, you won’t want to miss this episode!
