We get back to bikes this week, with the "year of riding" review of the Trek Slash 9.8.  Vinny joins us this week, albeit remotely as we discuss the pro and cons of the said bike.  There may even be a soap box or two that will stood upon.
We once again stay with the watery abyss theme, we discuss our recent procurement of not one, but four kayaks and for good measure, we got a trailer as well.   Learn how this came about and came about pretty quickly.  We also recorded this week's episode a little differently.  Do your part and stay safe.
Well, what a week its been, with more uncertainty coming our way.  Just to keep things a little different this week, we leave terra firma and head to the liquid abyss.  Just a fancy way of saying this week we are exploring kayaks and kayaking.  Why?  Well as Jonathan puts it,  "...just another means of transportation and hauling camping gear..."  Plus it's fun.
We're back... so we have been away for the past couple of weeks, don't worry all will be explained.  Plus we go hunting, well Jonathan did... well sorta.  We discuss his adventure looking for Wild Boar.  Is there a new adventure activity in the future... stay tuned.
Do you or don't you? And if you do or do not what do you wear.  This week we discuss footwear and whether or not to clip or not to clip in.
In this week's episode, we talk about Jonathan's latest adventure and his upcoming adventure as well.  We visit the Salton Sea and surrounding areas and discuss the possibility of bike adventures in those areas.  We also discuss Valentine's day and the importance of February the 13 for Jonathan and Trina...
We just can't seem to get away from Joshua Tree, not that that's a bad thing. This week's episode we once again return to J-Tree and talk more about our trip.  The good bad and the windy.  We discuss what lengths we will go to to have a campfire. We learn that a golf ball size knot in your hamstring may not always be a good thing.
This weeks episode we give a more detailed recap of our most recent adventure, the three day trip that we have been planning for the past month or so.  We give you some insights about the trip it self as well as the planning that went into it. A big shout-out is given to Cat and Jacob for letting us use "Camp Five.." And we get an update about the "Year of the Mouse..."  There might be talk that commuting might be in the future...
We are just happy to be back in the studio, so this week we play catch up and discuss the things we have been up to lately.  We tease a little about our most recent trip.  We are excited about the new batch of programs we have coming your way and as always we continue to explore the world of "Bike Camping...."  Yes, its a thing...
This episode we discuss takeaways from our beach trip.  The things we learned and the things we may or may not do differently.  There seems to be an overused phrase in this episode but fear not, all the takeaways are really big...  For our next episode, we plan to record on location in Joshua Tree... Stay tuned.
Greetings and Happy New Year... Welcome to 2020.  We took a little break over the holidays, but we had a pretty cool adventure before we took our break, and this week we discuss what a truly good time we had on our bikes.  So join us as we relive our big Adventure Bike getaway.
The Holiday Season is upon us and we here at Shop Talk want to wish you  and yours a Very Merry Happy Holiday Christmas and Super New year.   Looking forward to the New Year... we are busy planning shows and getting some big things lined up... Cheers Jeff and Jonathan
This week we pull the curtain back on Bicycle Trainers ( the device not a person...)  We explore the types of and how they can best be utilized. We talk about how we have used them and we may or may not go on a few tangents as well...
Vinny is in studio with us again this week, and we talk about his adventure bike in a little more detail.  We discuss the in's and out's of planning  an Adventure Bike Trip, and we begin to settle on a location for our first trip...well sorta...
This week we go back to Joshua Tree National Park to learn more about Jonathon's most recent backpacking trip there.  His hiking partner, adventure partner, as well as his partner in life, joins us as well. Trina gives us her take of their most recent adventure.  She fills us in on some adventures that they have planned.
Vinny joins us once again this week as Jonathon and I discuss our respective "Adventure Bikes."  We discuss the types of "adventure " we are looking to do and  how we plan to equip said bikes. We discuss gear and equipment and what we can or cannot live with out when we hit the open road as it were.  Vinny reveals weather or not if he wants to get into the whole "adventure biking" thing.
This week we discuss the fate of the Amgen Tour of California, and Jon shares some behind the scene secrets of how it was all put on.  We pull the curtain back on bicycle commuting.  What does it take to comment to riding a bicycle EVERYWHERE you go and why don't more people ride to work.
The 25th on the 25th.... Well would you look at that, episode 25.  This week we go to Madison Wisconsin to get the latest from Trek World. Jordan joins us from Madison and gives us all the latest news from Trek World.  Some big news as it pertains to JAX Bicycles and even bigger news about JAX owner.  We discuss our plans for the future episodes and there's a new intro and music.
Ran into more than a few technical difficulties this week,  it took some time and work, but we are back,  Listen to this update and get ready for the 25th on the 25th....
This week we discuss Jonathon's latest Joshua Tree adventure, we also get into some specifics on road bikes.  We break down the different types of road bikes and discuss the importance of weight loss and we get into frame material.  We break down the how and why of costs associated with bicycle maintenance.
