We talk about the nerves and excitement of playing in front of our drummer, share some Kingwood footage—including Patrick’s merciless roasting of our friend Mike Carr—and explain how Chad utilizes "stem splitting" to clean up live recordings and vancasts. Plus: mistaken soundguy identities, ScotFest and Ireland excitement, and love and well wishes for our friend Dave Hitchcock as he recovers from brain surgery. SlapperCast Episode 394: "Don't Get Mad, Get Evil" This episode was recorded in two bits: first on the road to Beaumont for our Halfway to Paddy's Day show at the Logon Cafe, and then later on the way back to Houston after the gig. It was a GREAT night with a wonderful crowd, and we were all thrilled to be back at it after taking some time off while Patrick was back home in Ireland. This is mostly the same kind of stuff we talk about while driving to-and-from a show when the cameras are off... but in this case, our energy levels were so high that we knew we had to capture it all. Turbo joins us with an update on his knee-replacement recovery and reveals that he’s been writing not one, but TWO autobiographical books, the first one entitled "Just Look Up" and the second tentatively titled "The Lock". Chad's nerdbrain refers to it as Turbo's superhero origin story, and once you read the stories, you'll understand why. Chad then talks about his debut solo album project, Magic Notebook, which he's currently releasing demos of on his Patreon one song at a time (https://www.patreon.com/chadsmalley). We also talk about our recent gig at Blue Lagoon in Houston... a great neighborhood bar in Spring Branch that we were VERY impressed with.
