Do you want a good life or do you want life to go your way? Because honestly, if life went according to my plan and timing, it would be a hot mess. This episode breaks down one of my favorite analogies about life and how to learn to trust in the timing of God's plan for you.
Building body confidence starts with a certain level of respect. Despite popular opinion, respecting your body isn't so much about what you wear or your sexual past, it's about the over/under problem. The simple daily choices you make regarding things like exercise, food, etc. determine the baseline respect you have for your body - and that's where you can start building it.
Marching our way through the Zodiac calendar, once again, we have Taurus who is born between April 20th and May 20th. These dependable earth signs are great friends but will definitely make it obvious if they do not like you! lol listen in for more.
The only reliable source of confidence comes from overcoming challenges. This becomes your "proof" that you can survive (and thrive!) no matter what life throws at you. The best part is you can choose to challenge yourself so that you're prepared when life's challenges comes your way. Listen to this episode to get started in finding small ways to challenge and grow your confidence.
Hot girl confidence means lots of personal growth! If you struggle to take feedback, it might be because you strongly identify with your actions and feel threatened if they're ever questioned or taken the wrong way. In this episode, we're talking about why it's important to be someone who welcomes feedback and how that strengthens your confidence.
Triggers point to your trauma and if you don't face them, they end up owning you. Yikes! Yeah, we're diving into why it's important to face your triggers, heal, and take back the power you have over your own state of mind and emotions. It's hard to be confident if you're constantly living to avoid the pain of your triggers. Ultimately, we need to own our part in healing and seeing our triggers for what they are: stupid daily things that shouldn't effect us!
Question: How do I "know" myself? Doesn't everyone? If you've ever wondered what this really means, tap into this episode as I break down why this is important for developing confidence and protecting your sense of self. Confident women value their privacy and have boundaries on the type of information they share. When you know the value of being close to you, it's only natural to create some barriers so that only the people who put in effort can get the benefit of your closeness. Millennials have been on social media longer than anyone else on the planet - this means I was creeped out when I realized how many years' worth of my life was available publicly online. Rather than go private, I went off the grid! Deleting my Facebook entirely and cleaning out my Instagram posts down to just travel pictures and shining moments with friends or family. Listen to hear my take on this.
You can restart at any time. You don't need to beat yourself up over how long it's been since you last saved money, went to the gym, had a dry weekend, whatever it is! For me, it has been a loooooong time since I felt like posting an episode, but here I am - jumping back in and just getting into it! I've realized one reason I hesitated is because podcasts these days are....quite the production. I mean, multiple camera angles, professional audio equipment, a girl can dream, but this is not my full time job and the budget around here is "free" soooo welcome to my audio blog - I'm rebranding to lower expectations a bit. This is not a PODCAST in the way you might think, but I'm glad you're here and I hope this makes you smile!
Measure progress in your body image by applying this analogy! In this episode, I share a few ways to tell if you're at home in your body, how to feel more at peace, and ways to enjoy your body more. Don't forget this is deeply covered in my book, The Body Image Solution, available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BRC98BBM/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1671798787&sr=1-1
If you struggle with negative self-talk, this is your top priority in growing your confidence. Tearing yourself down is actually a symptom of patriarchy, sexism, and usually racism. It's deeper than you think, which is why nearly EVERY woman on the planet struggles (or struggled at one point in her life) with body image issues! How is that possible?? Find out in this episode.
Don't forget the book recommendation for this episode: The Body Image Solution is on amazon! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BRC98BBM/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1671798787&sr=1-1
Thinness is not the ultimate body goal. I have an issue with body goals in general, but today's episode examines how thinness has become the center of all things health and body. It's important to remove the pursuit of thinness from your health equation if you want a chance of a healthy body relationship and real confidence. Just like the 4B movement helps remind women that men should not be the center of their lives, the body confidence movement should remind women that thinness should not be the center of our health goals. Listen in for the deep dive!
Happiness comes in many forms. For you, it might be a fresh manicure, for Cydney Rechtin, it was selling everything and living in a converted van with her husband for 5 years (on and off). Cydney is a woman living life well! Her life consists of a husband, Christian marriage, COO position at a meal-prep company, and currently choosing to be child-free. There are many ways women can live life confidently, listen to our conversation to get inspiration from my good friend (and former podcast manager!) Cydney.
Hobbies don't need to become businesses. I said it!! Enjoying something and being good at it are two completely different things. On today's episode, I'm diving into this capitalist concept that anything worth doing has to have talent or money tied to it. The truth is you SHOULD do things you're bad at, even just as a reminder that you're not perfect, no one is, and it's completely okay to enjoy something without having the expectation that you're gonna make money or even become a pro.
Nooo! It happens to the best of us. I found myself having fallen out of healthy habits and routines I once had firmly established in my life. The answer? Reconnect with that version of who you used to be. Find those healthy habits again and slowly reintroduce them into your week. In this episode, I'm sharing why this happens, what to do, and things to remember during the process to keep your confidence on track.
Don't forget this podcast is only the beginning! You can order all my books on amazon and get them delivered in just a few days. Here's a link if you want to snoop! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BRC98BBM/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1671798787&sr=1-1
Welcome back to Confidently She! Do you ever wonder if you're growing spiritually? Yes, maybe you're consistent with spiritual disciplines, but how do you tell if there's real growth in your heart? Proverbs says out of the heart the mouth speaks. Your actions will give you direct indications of your spiritual growth. I put together a list of 11 ways I noticed my behavior, mindset, and speech change once I truly started walking with the Lord. You can use these as indicators of your own growth - plus, look out for these characteristics when you're choosing friendships. The character of your friends quickly becomes the character of your own. Remember you can join the discussion on Substack https://open.substack.com/pub/rebekahbuege
Welcome back! Sometimes Christians forget that America is not a Christian nation. It's a nation of religious freedom, which means freedom from religion as well as the right to practice individual religions. This means, as Christians, we should never be shocked or offended when political agendas don't align with our values. It's a presidential election year in the United States, which means the republican party will attempt to harness the religious voting block regardless of their candidate's personal beliefs and values. This episode serves as a reminder, a warning, and an encouragement to prioritize unity over uniformity. Our ultimate aim is not to influence American politics, it's to live in holiness as salt + light to the world, visible through our love. Listen for an honest reality check for what is most important in the midst of an election year.
Welcome back to Confidently She! This episode is a response to 1 Thessalonians where Christians are called to live a quiet life. It feels like this goes directly against much of the themes I see at Christian conferences in America. What does it really look like to live quietly? How are we supposed to impact people when we live quietly in a world that's getting louder and louder each year? I have some thoughts and I hope it helps encourage you. Welcome back to season five of Confidently She. In this episode, I'm walking you through the mindset of enjoyment and why it's important in my walk with God. The gifts God gives are meant to be enjoyed to the fullest. God is not stingy with his gifts. He is not withholding, even though it feels that way to us sometimes. Remember that God is a father and there's nothing parents enjoy more than seeing their child enjoy the gifts they give them. So I'm sharing the 3 necessary shifts I made to fully enjoy gifts from God. I hope you enjoy!
Everyone needs approval. Call it validation, permission, praise, etc. we all crave it. It's just part of the human condition. But why do some people desperately seek the approval of their parents, friends, or strangers on the internet? What is it about that kind of approval we crave? Find out why you seek approval from people in this episode of Confidently She. Don't forget about the Substack, join here: https://open.substack.com/pub/rebekahbuege

Lip fillers are not "cultural appropriation". Big lips are not a culture lol. I do love this podcast but this is grasping if I've ever seen it, and white feminist virtue signaling. Black people did not invent nor are they the sole owners of big lips. Are black women who wear green contacts or dye their hair blonde stealing from white people? It's absurd. Does it ever occur to people that big lips are the beauty standard and instead of blaming women for doing what they've been conditioned to do and follow beauty ideals, maybe you should blame society for holding standards many women can't reach? cultural appropriation = taking credit for cultural aspects you had no part in.
I loathe the hate "basic" girls get! just let them enjoy things, and maybe these edgelords can too.
I absolutely LOVE your podcast. I listen to it almost every morning. Thanks so much for helping me to feel better about it.❤
I love your podcast girl such a high value content. 💖 Thanks Rebekah
