On February 24, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Agency announced proposed rules for prescribing controlled substances via telemedicine after the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency expires.   The proposed rules were open for public comment for only thirty days, after which DEA would presumably issue final regulations. The proposal created two new limited options for telemedicine prescribing of controlled substances without a prior in-person exam. The options were complex and more restrictive than what has been allowed for the past three years under the covid waivers.    The DEA’s proposal would discontinue the ability for telemedicine prescribing of controlled substances where the patient never has any in-person exam (with the exception of a prescription period of no more than 30 days’ supply). The initial reactionis the rules are more restrictive than necessary and impose concerning limitations and burdens on clinicians and the patients they treat.   In response to more than 38,000 comments on the proposal, the DEA and the Department of Health and Human Services submitted a draft temporary rule to the Office of Management and Budget that provides a temporary extension of telehealth flexibilities for controlled substance prescriptions. Details about the rule will become public after it is published in the Federal Register. I don't know when that will be.
Testosterone, a hormone primarily associated with the development of male sexual characteristics, plays a role in bone growth and maturation during puberty. However, once a person has reached the end of their puberty and their growth plates have closed, which usually occurs in late adolescence or early adulthood, further increase in height is unlikely, regardless of testosterone levels. During puberty, testosterone promotes the growth and fusion of the long bones, such as those in the arms and legs, which can result in an increase in height. However, once the growth plates at the ends of these bones close, usually by the age of 18-20 years in males, further height increase is not possible as the bones have reached their maximum length. It's important to note that the effects of testosterone on height are influenced by various factors, including genetics, nutrition, and overall health. If you have concerns about your height or development, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized advice and guidance based on your individual circumstances.   TestosteronePodcast.com

Testosterone is a hormone that belongs to a group of hormones called androgens, which are responsible for the development and maintenance of male sexual characteristics. Testosterone is primarily produced in the testes in males, although it is also produced in smaller amounts in the adrenal glands in both males and females. Testosterone exerts its effects in the body by binding to androgen receptors, which are present in various tissues throughout the body. Once testosterone binds to these receptors, it can enter the cell and interact with the cell's DNA, leading to changes in gene expression and protein synthesis. This, in turn, results in a wide range of physiological effects on different tissues and organs in the body. Some of the key functions of testosterone in males include: Development of male sexual characteristics: During puberty, testosterone stimulates the development of primary and secondary male sexual characteristics, such as the growth of the testes, penis, and scrotum, deepening of the voice, growth of facial and body hair, and increased muscle mass. Sperm production: Testosterone is necessary for the production of sperm in the testes, which is essential for fertility. Muscle and bone growth: Testosterone helps to stimulate protein synthesis, leading to increased muscle mass and bone density. Regulation of mood and cognition: Testosterone can influence mood, cognitive function, and energy levels, although the mechanisms underlying these effects are complex and not fully understood. Regulation of red blood cell production: Testosterone stimulates the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, which helps maintain normal hematocrit levels. It's important to note that testosterone levels in the body are regulated by a complex feedback system involving the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and testes. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is a medical intervention that involves supplementing testosterone in individuals with low testosterone levels, under the guidance of a healthcare professional. TRT can be used to treat certain medical conditions related to testosterone deficiency, but it should always be done under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider, as improper use of testosterone or other androgens can have potential risks and side effects.   www.testosteronepodcast.com

How does Prolon work? Why does it work? What even is it?  Today I'm talking with Dr. Joseph Antoun, CEO of L-Nutra, former Director of Health Policy at the University of Chicago, and former Editor in Chief of the Journal of Health Systems and Reform. We'll be talking about a recent study by The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism on the effects of a fasting-mimicking diet (FMD) on type 2 diabetes in adults; and to reveal the findings of which that suggest it is the first-ever nutrition-based program found to promote regression and remission of diabetes and—the truly groundbreaking discovery—support temporary reversal of diabetic nephropathy.    The fasting-mimicking diet has gained recognition in recent years as an approach to weight loss and overall human longevity. Until now, options for slowing the progression of diabetic nephropathy have been limited to controlling glycemia, lipidemia, and blood pressure. This new study suggests a game-changing approach. It's the first time scientists and doctors have discovered an effective reversal of kidney disease through nutrition.   Fasting is not just for diabetic patients. Everyone can benefit from the process and Dr. Antoun explains how and why.   www.testosteronepodcast.com Find a TRT Clinic - All Things Testosterone Podcast

Join our FREE Facebook group below!   On today's episode we discussed the following: Identifying the signs of Low T - Many guys get labs done by a local doctor and are told that they're within normal limits. What's your advice for these guys? Should they request a copy of their labs? Assume their symptoms are unrelated to T levels? Are there certain symptoms that are more indicative than others? I get the "can I drink alcohol while on TRT" question about once a week. So to ensure our health biases are removed from this, let's assume that we're talking about 3 beers every evening. Is there a difference if on TRT? What about a case per evening? Does you body handle alcohol differently when on TRT? On TRT and had vasectomy and ever since, orgasm is off the charts - to the point where I get lightheaded and feel as though I'm gonna pass out. Worse when standing up. Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome - What is it? What causes it? Is TRT safe? So I got my blood results back, Testosterone is 1265 and Estradiol is 17. I’ve only been taking 100mg per week in shot form. Dr just upped me to 150mg, but that was before the test results, my testosterone was 1265 on the 100mg dose. So my question is, do I just stay at 100mg since my testosterone level is so high already? Is there any negative effects I need to be aware of? I am weightlifting as well and it’s really helped. Wanting to start lifting/exercising after a 5 year break. I get throbbing pain in my biceps after lifting any upper body movement. What does it sound like is happening? Is there anything I can take to minimize this? Is creatine safe and effective - on of off TRT, worth it? What about for teen? Wife was prescribed a vaginal estrogen cream. I finally decided to go and get blood work done my total test came in at 246. I feel anxious constantly and just don’t feel like myself and it’s been affecting my relationship. The Dr I’m seeing prescribed cypionate 200mg a week. I don’t have kids yet though I’m engaged and it’s wanted in our future. I’m a full time firefighter so sleep isn’t always the best. I haven’t started the test yet as I’ve been trying to weigh everything out. The doctor says it’s no big deal and I’ll be able to have kids. The only reason it makes me nervous is because it seems like he is a sales person for trt.   Sorry for the long post, what I’m getting at is what would you do in my position? I’d love to feel better and get my life back together.   Chris Stevens - My T level was 72 a few weeks ago. I’m 32 years old. I’ve taken my 4th injection today. I don’t feel any difference at all. Is that normal? I’ve been taking between 200 and 150mg each week.   Not sure how long it takes to see improvement. Energy is okay, zero sex drive, zero thoughts about sex, zero morning erections, focus etc feels not much improved.   TRT RESOURCES - All Things Testosterone Podcast   Ashley Zulch - Has anyone gone off of hcg and just stuck to testosterone? My husband went on hcg in august and off of testosterone so we could conceive and now is off of hcg and only on testosterone. He stopped taking hcg in November and still feels just as bad as he did when on hcg. He gained 40lbs once on the hcg and felt worse than he did before his low t diagnosis. The All Things Testosterone podcast is a product of the TRT Community. We are the world's largest online support system for men and women undergoing Testosterone Replacement Therapy, or "Patients Helping Patients." Join our FREE Facebook group below!   On today's episode we discuss the following:   Semaglutide (Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) TRT Mental Health Benefits Anxiety   TRT Community Post - I posted this short blog, about weight loss drugs in the TRT Community Facebook group. The first sentence was something like, "Losing weight can be an incredibly difficult endeavor…" A fellow responded and informed me that losing weight is not difficult and a conversation ensued.    Just because something has a step process you can follow, doesn't make it easy. I could rebuild a transmission with the proper instructions, but there's a reason specialty shops exist. Have you ever had a pack of clutch plates laying on a work bench???   Topic One: Semaglutide & Tirzepitide Semaglutide - it's sold as Ozempic and Rybelsus for DM treatment and Wegovy for weight loss. Brain uses hormones to regulate functions, including digestion and metabolism Semaglutide mimics the action of GLP-1 class hormones GLP-1, or glucagon like peptide-1 help regulate digestion and metabolism The more GLP-1, the more full you are Side effects - Diarrhea, Nausea, Constipation, vomiting   Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) currently approved for DM treatment Same GLP-1 effects as Semaglutide Also effect on GIP (glucose=dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) GIP enhances the action of GLP-1, which tells the brain to stop eating. The way I think about it is like this: Semaglutide, Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy - it's like having a fellow in your brain telling you to stop eating. Tirzepatide or Mounjaro is like have 2 fellows in your brain TELLING you to stop eating. The most effective weight loss medication ever made available with an average weigh tloss of 22.5% over the course of a year.   Personal experience - started taking Semaglutide about 7 months ago. Lost about 10% BW in a few months and plateaued. Started Tirzepatide this month. Not much side effects. Feeling bloated/full most of the time   Tirzepatide highly effective for weight loss - PubMed (nih.gov)   Facebook Questions:   Did TRT improve your anxiety and confidence? Maybe is the fact that I’m autistic, but all my life Ive been prone to being anxious when interacting with others regardless of how many times I do it. I’m 38 and even if I’m “relaxed” there is still a “slight” anxiety underneath that’s probably unseen by others yet I feel it. Maybe I’m just a nervous person but I have noticed my anxiety has gotten worse compared to 10 years ago. I feel more confident than when I was younger from life experience and maturity but still anxious. I’m also more prone to being fearful than some but I fight it and contain it. I wish I was like those guys seem to have no fear and have nerves of steel. That’s life but who knows maybe i have a bigger weiner or higher IQ than them.  So many folks focus on the physical improvement aspects of TRT. The mental health benefits are what I'm most passionate about. Before TRT - I was anxious daily, no confidence, counting hours before I had to do things like go to work, afraid to speak up, engage people in social situations, seeking validation from other people and manipulating them into providing you with value. I was super impatient. Here's a quick video of my after experience     Before and After Testosterone Replacement Therapy     Thanks for listening! Another great show as usual. So Kenny has me taking 500mg grade seed twice a day ,200mg dim twice a day, 100mg b6 twice a day and 500mg calcium d glucarate twice a day. I’m on 200mg of test weekly and I no longer suffer from acne or oily skin. I have been on trt for about 5 years and the past few months is the first time since starting trt that I haven’t had any acne ! Give it a try hopefully it works for you . God bless

This podcast offers a lot of good helpful advice for those who are new to testosterone replacement, or those who have had problems with it. The presenter is not a physician. He does not offer specific individual advice, and so far, does not try to sell anything. The intended audience is primarily men with low testosterone who desire to safely achieve normal levels, in order relieve symptoms, improve function, or prevent illness. It is not intended for athletes or body builders who want to use steroids in high doses, in order to build bigger muscles.
