Description

Sean & Cathy a.k.a. "the illest couple" are working to end mental health stigma one super awkward conversation at a time. We believe it is crucial to communicate openly about our own mental health struggles so that we can better navigate the waters of life, and... well... marriage... but we also believe in jokes about butts (because butts are funny.)

By calling or texting 988, you’ll connect with mental health professionals with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Veterans can press “1” after dialing 988 to connect directly to the Veterans Crisis Lifeline which serves our nation’s Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them. For texts, Veterans should continue to text the Veterans Crisis Lifeline shortcode: 838255.Thank you our amazing patrons! We love you!Support the show

Hey everyone, Sean's back! With all of the recent mass shootings, we felt it was our responsibility to do as we'd promised in the beginning of this project - work to mental health stigma. With that being said, there was no way we were going to sit by quietly, while (once again) the worst among us would try to unjustifiably point the finger of these issues directly at mental health and mental illness.Mass shootings have 1 singular thing in common, and we ALL know what that is.Not all mass shooters have mental illness. Not everyone with mental illness is a mass shooter (or even violent.)But enough description reading... Let's have a super awkward - HONEST conversation about it.Support the show

Getting better! Very good stuff. It really is a topic that should be more discussed. The thought of how brave you are crossed my mind as well. And I thought of how that should not be. It wouldn't be brave to talk of a chronic non mental illness. Glad this is being changed.
