This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! Once you start tracking time, you'll quickly realize that about 75-90% of the time we spend on our phones and about 25-60%+ of the time we spend on our computers is totally wasted time spent mainly on social media, reading the news, games and other time-wasters, but really, let's be honest, it's really just social media that is the main problem. This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! Just be yourselves, and the rest will follow. When you realize the power behind this expression, you will rediscover the power you have in you. We’ve all been in that place in our lives. The place where we hide and lie to ourselves. The pressure of being successful comes mostly from social media. Every day we spend our lives scrolling up and down, watching other people’s videos, IG stories, posts, and we ask ourselves, ‘Why don’t I live like that?’ or ‘What’s wrong with me’? This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! As any entrepreneur will tell you, failure is a part of the business. Whether it’s a missed sale opportunity or an unexpected bank charge, there’s always something that goes wrong. Sometimes, however, there are moments when failure becomes a major setback. You might be a freelancer who lost a major long-time client or a business owner whose reputation gets damaged because of a comment on social media. This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! While the digital nomad lifestyle can be a fulfilling lifestyle, working from the computer for extended periods of time can wreak havoc on your body. Like other laptop warriors, digital nomads can experience risk injury to their muscles, wrists, eyes, and more from extended computer use. This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! Outsourcing is more than a trend in the business world right now, it’s a necessity, especially with the Coronavirus pandemic. More and more companies are opting for scouting talent online in hopes of reducing staffing costs. There are tons of advantages to outsourcing, such as limitless options, better management, and, most importantly, low costs. On the other side, people are more satisfied with staying at home and working remotely instead of going to a physical office. I don’t think there is a need to list all of the advantages of working from home. (working in your PJ’s from your bed with a cuppa coffee). But how to transition from internal hiring to remote hiring?!? Nathan Hirsch, the founder of Outsourcing School and a successful remotepreneur, is the sensei of outsourcing, and he is here to guide us on how to crack the VA code. This is a podcast article that summarizes what I learned from a fellow remotepreneur that was a guest on the show! For many entrepreneurs, the costs and bureaucratic nightmare that comes 2ith starting a business can be a hassle that challenges even the most optimistic entrepreneur. In many countries, starting a business requires filling out a bunch of forms, paying more taxes, and long wait times as things get approved. Imagine if you were in a country where this process was as simple as filling an online form and a few clicks. Picture yourself paying a small fee to start a business, paying a flat tax no matter how big your profits are, and could handle your taxes for the entire year right from the bathroom (if you wanted to)? Welcome to Estonia. Estonia is a country with a very unique program that could be attractive to digital nomads and remotepreneurs. It’s also one of the most revolutionary ideas that the modern world has ever seen. Let's connect! Instagram: @remotepreneurs Web: https://www.remotepreneurs.com/ RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE

Jesse had the pleasure of working on all levels of the advertising stack, from scaling large in-house SEO teams for both clients, and his own web properties, to personally overseeing the deployment of millions per month in paid ad spend (both in online DTC, international distribution and physical retail). Remotepreneur Insights Always Say ‘Yes’– In the beginning of growing your agency or company, you might need to hustle and take on as many deals as you can until you earn the privilege to turn clients away. Save Money – Once you start growing your companies you might need to hire teams of people to handle the work. You have to pay those people for their services. That’s why it’s important to save up. Keep it Simple – Stay true to your niche. If you want to do graphic design, do only that. If you want to do SEO, just stick to SEO. Don’t stray off because you might end up torn apart by all sides. Quotes “I ended up picking up from my personal network from people that I knew to do kind of growth work on it. I didn’t know what I was doing. I just needed to make money really fast to pay for the hotels I was staying at.” “I put a job offer for someone to help me with my agency. At the time, I just wanted somebody to help with content writing. I just needed some more content . I didn’t want to pay some one off services. So, I did that and it kicked off and did really well.”  “I ended up making the company a lot smaller. I found employees that I let go. Letting people go for me was a sign of defeat. I didn’t want to let my team down. So, I made sure everyone had new jobs and prospects to go to that paid the same amount of money, more often with previous clients. I let clients that consume a lot of time go. I kinda started all over again, this new model of hiring writers, look for more firms and managing them.”  “I think in the early days there is a lot of accepting deals that are potentially toxic because you need the money. It’s not until you got some cash in the bank, things are smooth that you’re comfortable to say no. There are so many people that are on a podcast, Youtube and stuff that are it’s ok to say no. When you’re not making money and you’re broke, you kinda have to say yes to everything. “ “The agency, for a lot of things, was like my own venture capital firm. I was like ‘Can I please have some money?’ and they would give me money. I would deploy it in terms of developing marketing or engineering resources. I take money from the agency and put it into my passion.” “First, save money. Make sure you have some cash because if you’re going to employ anyone, have the responsibility to back them when stuff doesn’t go your way. So, If you have to let employees go, you need to cover that.” “When you go from consulting to an agency, keep it simple. Do it well, keep it simple. Be the best in your class or category, whatever that is. I just do SEO and I’m the best at it. I just do link building and I’m the best at it.” Timestamps 06:30 – What made Jesse become a digital nomad 21:35 – Does Jesse’s agency run without him? 23:12 – Why did Jesse decide to move on from his agency and build a SaaS company y? 30:00 – How Jesse used money from one company into growing another 36:08 – When is a good time to pivot from one business to another 39:10 – How much money should you save before starting an agency 44:14 – Do you need to build a system? 48:00 – How to remove yourself from fulfillment? Vasily Kichigin is one individual that has made a name for himself as a professional freelancer, an amazing and remarkable feat, considering his background as a professional tennis player. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Opt for a Fast Service – If you chose a remote career on Fiverr, go for a service that you can do quickly. That way you will go through more orders in less time. Build Your Personal Brand – If you’re planning to scale your Fiverr career, you should develop your own voice in a personal brand that will be a representation of your best work and services. Focus on Customer Experience – No matter what you’re selling, there will be always customers that might have some questions or complaints about your service. Always do follow-ups, check-ins, replies etc. You have to ensure the customer and that you care. Key Podcast Milestones 04:20 – Why Vasily chose freelancing 07:47 – Vasily’s start on Fiverr 21:50 – How Vasily managed to freelance 0-30 orders per day on Fiverr 33:30 – The moment when Vasily rang the bell on the Stock Exchange 45:00 – What happened when everything collapsed 57:12 – Vasily’s podcast 01:04 – Questions from Vasily’s Instagram live Top Key Quotes “It’s important to know if you go on Fiverr or Upwork, you have to offer something that you could do fast. If it’s going to take you ages, then it’s going to go slow and you have to be patient. So, you have to find something you can do fast.” “It’s important to get out of the comfort zone if you’re going to be building a freelancing career. So, you have to work on your personal brand. It’s not required, but your personal brand is going to scale your freelancing career.” “You have to trust in people. If you don’t trust people, you can’t build a team. So, you have to take a risk but you have to be careful when you’re building a team.  Maybe you’re outsourcing some tasks without giving access to your Fiverr account at the beginning just to build trust.” “I think why it worked out for me is because I was going for customer experience, this is the most important. So, over-deliver, make sure the customer is happy, fast replies and obviously solve the problems.” “When someone orders a gig, you can actually use YouTube. So, create a shortcut to a YouTube video and then you can send it to clients right away as soon as he orders. That way the client is going to ask you less questions and they will use a FAQ where you can create those video messages.” “You can do multiple things very good. You have to pick one or two things, depending on what you do.” “Obviously in business and online space, you have short-term, which are working well, and long-term things. Long-term things, as we mentioned the podcast, for me the podcast would be long-term but it is, I’m still going to be back. But, right now, I’m focusing on writing a book. I actually started writing a book a year ago.” Resources Socials Vasily Kichigin Remotepreneurs https://www.freelancehustle.com/vasily/ - Vasily’s website Apps Whatsup Telegram
Beau Crabill is an Amazon Seller & educator in the Amazon space. He got started off on eBay at the age of 12 selling customized socks online. At age 15 he started with Amazon. Got suspended on amazon for doing business models that were allowed on eBay but not on Amazon. Went to Pepperdine for 5 days, left, and fast forward 7 months hit $1,000,000 in his business. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Spend Time Wisely – People spend a big portion of their day not being aware that what they’re investing is not getting their ROI. That’s why it’s important to even spend less time on things that are going to bring value. Give Yourself Time – Test what you’re doing to see if it’s worth pursuing. Give yourself a long period of time even a year if you have to. Self-reflect – Take some to realize what your long-term goals are. Running and building a business can be easier if you have goals to aspire to. Key Podcast Milestones 03:48 – What inspired Beau to become an entrepreneur 06:02 – Beau’s first attempt at business 11:00 – Beau’s advice on keep on hustling even if you don’t get instant gratification 13:30 – What to do if your business model doesn’t work 15:45 – Is Beau a ‘one-man show’? 20:00 – When it’s the right time to outsource 25:00 – Dropshipping vs. Amazon? 26:20 – Beau’s best Amazon strategy 30:39 – Ways to sell on Amazon 35:32 – How to win the Amazon Buy Box 37:57 – How will COVID-19 change the Amazon business Top Key Quotes “If you look at people who are trying to start a business, everyone has 24h in a day but how much of those hours are wasted towards stuff that is not making you more money or getting to your goals?” “I think people spend a lot of time thinking about themselves, what Is their long-term goal or the impact they are trying to make. Before starting it or before pursuing a lot of action, try to pick apart and see what could go wrong, not in a negative way but try to prove yourself that you’re not the smartest person in the room.” “Give yourself a set period of time. Don’t let it be a month, give yourself six months or a year. Put your entire full focus on something you’re going to work on. If you come across problems, try to figure out is it because you’re not taking a lot of action because you’re not being smart enough or is it because you’re in the wrong business model.” “People that are trying to run a business for a year, five or six years, I know a lot of people in network marketing for several years and are not making any money. I think a lot about self-reflection and at night I think about what are my long-term goals, what am I going to do tomorrow, what am I going to do next month or next four or five years. Give yourself enough time to think about long-term goals. If what you’re doing right now doesn’t fit for that long-term then you may need to reevaluate what you’re doing.” “I actually don’t create my own brand on Amazon, I don’t dropship, I actually source from distributors. Think about Walmart or Target, big box stores or best buy, I practically do what they do. When you think of Best Buy, they sell thousands of thousands of products but they don’t own any of the brands. They source from the manufacturers, buy at a lower price and they sell retail at a higher price.” Resources beaucrabill.com/book Beau Crabill Beau Crabill Remotepreneurs
Anthony Cofrancesco is a 23-year-old travel hacker and entrepreneur based in Manila, Philippines.  In his first year of travel hacking, Anthony leveraged frequent flyer programs and credit card sign-up bonuses to travel over $19,000 for free. 80+ times per year Anthony jumps onto a plane while sleeping over 100+ nights in hotels. Anthony’s goal is to see every country in the world before he turns 25. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Develop Your Skillset – Before you go on to venture into a new business, you need to find what you’re passionate about and develop your skillset. Find the Right Company – The best way to have a successful remote career is to find the company you are passionate about and go for it. Look at The Right Places – Due to the coronavirus, employers are seeking remote workers all across the globe. The Internet offers a large variety of websites you can find a job on. Key Podcast Milestones 04:55 – How did Anthony’s story start 19:17 – What is PickFu? 22:25 – How does PickFu work 24:14 – How much does PickFu cost 26:19 – Should you start a business or work with another business? 29:51 – Anthony’s biggest struggle 33:19 – How to craft your ideal lifestyle 37:19 – Where to find a remote job 39:21 – Did the virus change the digital nomad world 44:22 – Where can you find Anthony Top Key Quotes “I thought that as time goes on this online business environment is not going to go away. Getting rapid feedback from when I build my own website and my own products before, I had million ideas on what might look good. Going with your gut can be a real dagger in your back sometimes. People are going to spend more money for assuring the direction that they want to go in, creative aspect or marketing strategy.” “Nike is not sitting there with millions of units of inventory that just never sells. It might have to discount it 70%. They might need to discount it heavily through different liquidation methods. The reason why average e-commerce sellers might be stuck with a ton of inventory vs. a brand like Nike is that before Nike launches a product they know so incredibly well what the customer is looking for, from the price point to the packaging to all other different aspects of the brand.” “Probably what makes the most sense is to work for someone else. Go find a remote job, something that gives you flexibility. Go and do it in a company that you’re passionate about.” “Getting a remote job is actually very easy especially if you have a real skill set coming from a previous job. What they don’t seem to understand is that you’re going to take a large pay cut in doing it, but it’s also pros and cons. When I walked from my job at Amazon, starting pay at VirtualGraphics was $2000 US a month. But, living in Manila it’s more than you need.” “Getting a remote job is very simple and very easy. It’s just about looking at the right places, looking at remote jobs and pitching yourself in the right way.” “The biggest thing to consider when you’re applying for a remote job is the barrier the employer is going to have when they hire you. They want to make sure if you want to do this lifestyle, you need to keep in mind that this is a bit different than a normal job and it’s going to require a discipline. So, what I would say is when you do find that job is make sure you have answers and questions that they want to ask.” Resources Socials Anthony Cofrancesco Remotepreneurs 🎙️
The virus shook the retail business and a lot of businesses are turning towards the e-commerce business. Be one of the first people that started their own dropshipping business during the COVID-19 crisis. To give us the full report on the current e-commerce waters is Yakir Starosta, a fellow remotepreneur and e-commerce expert who is currently running his dropshipping business from Bali. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Set Up a Shopify Account – Yakir explains why Shopify is one of the best platforms for starting your e-commerce business and tells us what kind of features the platform offers. Don’t Reinvent the Wheel – The best way to find what’s really working is to dabble into your competition’s websites and groups. Go for something that it’s proven to work. Get a Distributer – A major part of the e-commerce business is the distributor. Often times, 80% of the work relies in them because people are waiting for the product and home, which puts a lot of accent on how fast and efficient the distributor is. Good Marketing – It’s needless to say that you need great marketing to get you in front of the competition.  Try running some ads to catch people’s attention but also make them trust you. Key Podcast Milestones 06:20 – How e-commerce changed during the COVID-19 crisis 10:48 – How Yakir got into the e-commerce world 16:00 – What would be the first step to start a dropshipping business from home 23:30 – The second step of building your e-commerce business 29:16 – Importance of reviews in the e-commerce world 31:00 – How to get people to leave reviews 33:05 – Why would somebody close a successful store 37:33 – How much money do you need to automate your e-commerce business 45:36 – What would happen if Asian dropshipping businesses get penalized? 51:09 – The end goal of owning an e-commerce business Top Key Quotes “First, you need to understand that it’s not easy. It’s not as easy as taking $200 and turning into profit. That’s not really profitable these days. What I would really recommend is to think about it differently right now. To really think about where we are right now in the world and how consumer behavior is. Why and what kind of things would they buy?” “The most common way of running dropshipping stores is using Shopify as a host. It’s a great platform to create websites. You don’t need to know any coding. There are built-in themes, where there are drag and drop. If you’re having a little bit of an issue, you can reach out to customer support. They have one of the best customer support there is.” “Seeing dropshipping ads is one of the best ways to really learn and start gaining experience with what’s working and what isn’t. If you see an ad that has really good engagement, like millions of views, they are spending a lot of money on it, then there is no reason for them not to do it if they are not profitable.” “The thing about dropshipping from AliExpress or China is that it’s mostly low-ticket items. By low-ticket, I mean between $30 - $60 USD. So, the main thing is to create an impulsive reaction in the customer and get him to buy on the spot. Most customers don’t buy on the spot but you retarget them with ads. The main thing is to create really good and engaging ads.” Resources Freedom Surfer – Yakir’s recommendation for a website if you’re interested in registering a company Yakir Starosta Remotepreneurs 🎙
We all dream about building a business that will run on its own and traveling world, seeing the wonders of the world. Sometimes we have this notion that the two can’t mix together. Our guest today is here to prove the contrary. Saurav Arya is an IIT graduate who worked as a Vice President at MakeITDeals until he decided to take a gap year and follow his dream of traveling the world. He calls his journey, 'A Year Full Of Sundays'. He managed to spread his AirBnb business through multiple locations all over the world. On top of that, he just became a dad so that’s one more role added to his list of accomplishments. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Reviews Can Make or Break – Arya says that the search engine on Airbnb is designed to catch reviews, the number of listings, the seniority level of your Airbnb business. So, spend some time to get those reviews up for better results. Strike a Deal – Saurav says that he always chooses the profit-sharing model in cases where he is not sure about the market. To avoid putting risk on yourself don’t go for the yearly deal. Hire Staff for Maintenance – Your AirBnb business needs to be ready for upcoming guests. To do that you need a staff that needs to be managed. The best choice is to hire managers and cleaning people locally. Key Podcast Milestones 03:55 – Saurav’s background 07:45 – How Saurav got his first Airbnb property 12:11 – The profit after costs in Airbnb rental 14:33 – The downside of running an Airbnb business 19:15 – Everything you need to maintain your Airbnb business 25:14 – Saurav’s take on remotepreneurship and rental businesses 26:29 – Is Bangalore a good place for digital nomads? 30:13 – How does Saurav keep focused on work while he is traveling 34:22 – Saurav’s story about “Small World” 39:51 – How can you find Saurav Top Key Quotes “The search criteria on Airbnb is complex and it takes into account so many things. One of which is the profile of the host. How many reviews do you have? What are the types of reviews do you have? The number of listings. How senior are you in terms of hosting on Airbnb?” “Depending on the geography and other factors that come into place, if you are venturing into a market you are not sure about the return and you don’t want to put the entire risk on yourself, then it’s better to go with the profit-sharing model. Telling the owner not to go for a yearly deal.” “For different geographies, I have hired a manager who is supervising the housekeeping. I have to hire the housekeepers through an agency. In some cases, I have to hire them through references. They are aware of when they have to go. Also, sometimes the manager has to coordinate with them in case there is a requirement for housekeeping.” “At times you might need to hire in person not remotely. Sometimes it helps to fix up a meeting. For example, if I have to hire someone in Bangalore and just have to have a face-to-face conversation, I can build more trust over hiring someone remotely. “ Resources Socials Saurav Arya Remotepreneurs 🎙️
No matter what level you are on UpWork, you always need something you can improve. That’s why we invited Robert O’Kruk to help us out. Robert O'Kruk is one of the leading educators and coaches for remote workers and digital nomads. He's been privately trained by Google in Canada and has been part of the Upwork Pro Sales & Marketing team as well as their Top Rated freelancer program. He is the founder of the 12,000+ member remote worker community, the Digital Nomads Forum and is also the founder of the Mindful Nomads Retreat, a mindfulness and remote work lifestyle based educational program. Remotrepreneur’s Insights Optimizing Your UpWork Profile – Robert says that your profile on UpWork is your biggest weapon. That’s why it’s crucial to optimize it and polish it to maximize your chance in landing a job. Apply Fast – Time is of the essence even on UpWork. You have to one of the first to apply for a job in order to give you a head start of the competition. Robert explains the importance of timing. The Perfect Proposal – If your profile is your biggest weapon, the proposal should be your ammunition. Robert gives us some tips on crafting the perfect custom-tailored proposal to grab the client’s attention. Key Podcast Milestones 05:00 – How Robert started working on Upwork 09:06 – Four key principles in getting a job on Upwork 10:36 – Principle #1 20:30 – Principle #2 28:10 – Principle #3 31:40 – Principle #4 38:32 – When to know the right time to close the job 47:24 – Where to find Robert and his coaching courses 55:45 – Should you start an agency on UpWork? Top Key Quotes “You have to realize that UpWork is not a computer or an algorithm that’s going to actually hire you. It’s a human. So, you need to learn how to craft your profile, interact with clients on UpWork in a way that’s optimized for the algorithm as well as the actual human and the business that’s going to hire you.” “You can’t have good results on Upwork if you don’t have a good profile optimized for the algorithm and the human” “People post an opportunity on Upwork. Then all the freelancers jump on it and usually 10 to 30 or so people who apply for each job. If you just kinda jump in there with everybody else, you're just in the pile, you have no control. The key to avoiding in being at the bottom is learning to be the first person to apply for the job. On Upwork they give you all sorts of tools to refine and narrow down the entire list of job opportunities they provide.” “The key to a good proposal you have to do two things. The first thing is you have to be time-efficient. You have to send an epic proposal in 3-5 minutes. You have to send a minimum of 10 – 20 if you have no reviews. If you have a crappy profile you have to send some more.” “The proposal has to be custom tailored. We have to remember the human will have to hire you. What do they want to see? They want to see someone who has read the description of their job and they replied in a custom way that acknowledges everything they need. “ “Ideally the proposal is inviting people to have a free 30-minute phone call. Free 30 minute phone call where you just talk with the client to talk if you guys are a good fit. Phone calls give you a higher chance to get hired.” Resources People Gary V Socials Robert O'Kruk - Robert’s website Robert O'Kruk - Robert’s YouTube channel Robert O'Kruk - Robert’s IG Apps Calendly

Doesn’t matter what course you buy, no matter what coach you hire, they are not a magic pill. You still have to take what you learn from them, implement the systems and put it into work.” “When you are running any business, what you want to do is you want to implement a proven system. Whether it’s Michael Jordan, for example, you want to follow the systems he used. It’s important to model what you’re doing after somebody who has already done it.” “If you are in the B2B space, if you have B2B product or service, that’s why you should be on LinkedIn as oppose to those other platforms. What you do there it’s up to you.” “What you want to do on Linkedin is in two phases. No.1 is set it up like a funnel. The funnel leads to an outcome. It’s no matter what you’re doing, whether you have a store in the mall or you have a podcast, you want your listeners/customers to take action. If you have a LinkedIn account and someone is on it, what do you want them to do?” “If you really want to get successful on LinkedIn, you have to put together a strategic outreach strategy that you can run and hustle.” “The first thing you can really do is before you optimize your profile is you really need to think about what it is that you do. Depending on what you do, if you’re a business coach, ask yourself what kind of business coach are you? Who are the people that you help? What is the problem that you solve? What is the solution you offer?” Resources Socials LinkedSalesPros-Michael’s coaching strategies Michael Thompson Remotepreneurs

Then I made a list of books about how to become happy and how to make a difference in the world. I decided to filter out things that would normally discourage me. I would reduce the amount of time on people that weren’t so supportive of this kind of thing.” “In terms of planning sustainability, I just saved up my money, invested it, and decided to reduce my spending drastically. “ “Change is hard, change is also fascinating. I feel like it’s a cliché saying but I couldn’t agree more that life happens outside your comfort zone. That’s where the growth happens. I really challenged myself in various ways.” “I really believe that you need to inspire yourself first. But once you do and you start to help others then in turn that inspires you to be better” Resources Socials https://wNomads Giving Backww.nomadsgivingback.com/ - Tarek’s social enterprise Social Tarek Kholoussy NGB’s Facebook page Remotepreneurs
