[00:10] Opting for Organic Psyllium Non-organic psyllium may contain high levels of pesticides due to a loophole in FDA regulations.  Opting for organic psyllium is essential to avoid exposure to harmful chemicals.  Alternatively, one can obtain fiber from natural sources like soaked adzuki beans, which help break down anti-nutrients. [06:30] Microbiome Rejuvenation: Key Insights into Aging and Health Transplanting the microbiome from a young animal to an old one can rejuvenate the older animal, suggesting that the microbiome's composition affects the aging process. A toxic microbiome, characterized by inflammatory lipids, toxic amines, toxic short-chain fatty acids, and poisonous gases, can accelerate cellular senescence and contribute to aging.  To age gracefully, it's crucial to prioritize maintaining a healthy microbiome. [10:40] Optimizing Gut Health Beyond Probiotics and Prebiotics Spencer outlines a hierarchy of strategies for improving gut health. Initially, the focus was on probiotics, but it was found that simply adding more bacteria wasn't always effective. Prebiotics, which feed existing good bacteria, were then explored. However, even with adequate prebiotic support, if there's no space for good bacteria to grow, the bad bacteria dominate. Before introducing probiotics or prebiotics, reducing the population of harmful, gram-negative bacteria is crucial. [20:45] Microbiome Dysregulation Good short-chain fatty acids play a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions by fine-tuning cellular receptors.  Conversely, toxic short-chain fatty acids produced by bad bacteria disrupt these receptors, leading to inflammation, imbalanced immune responses, and a range of health issues, including diabetes, brain fog, and neurodegenerative diseases. Dysbiosis in the gut microbiome can lead to the production of toxic gases like methane, hydrogen sulfide, and ammonia. [30:40] Fermented Foods: Balancing Benefits and Risks for Gut Health Some fermented foods may produce D-lactic acid, which can cause neurological symptoms, especially in individuals with preexisting gut issues.  Additionally, certain bacteria used in fermentation can generate histamine, which may exacerbate problems for those with high amine loads in their gut. [39:30] The Role of Short-Chain Fatty Acids in Cancer Development 80% of cancers are believed to be caused by environmental factors.  Spencer proposes that a fundamental cause of cancer is related to short-chain fatty acids, which are crucial for various bodily functions.  AND MUCH MORE! [14:00] Processed Carbohydrates and Stress: Impact on Visceral Fat Accumulation Dr. O'Mara emphasizes the significant impact of consuming processed carbohydrates, especially ultra-processed ones, on the deposition of visceral fat.  He notes that even a short-term consumption of such foods, like a weekend indulgence in pizza, donuts, or ice cream, can lead to a noticeable accumulation of visceral fat. Dr. O'Mara underscores the role of stress, particularly chronic stress, in promoting visceral fat accumulation. Strategies for managing stress are crucial for effective visceral fat reduction. To combat the negative effects of stress on visceral fat accumulation, Dr. O'Mara recommends high-intensity physical exercise as an effective strategy.  [21:20] Harnessing Physiological Stressors for Health Optimization Dr. O'Mara discusses the concept of stress hormesis, emphasizing the importance of stressors for health optimization. He suggests engaging in high-intensity exercises like sprinting or weightlifting to trigger beneficial physiological responses. While physiological stressors can be beneficial, emotional or cognitive stressors, such as tense interpersonal encounters, may not produce the same positive effects. Dr. O'Mara highlights the need for primarily physiological stressors to reduce cortisol levels and promote visceral fat elimination.  [28:00] Alcohol, Sleep, and Visceral Fat Reduction Dr. O'Mara underscores the detrimental effects of alcohol consumption on visceral fat accumulation.  He emphasizes the importance of eliminating alcohol intake for visceral fat reduction, noting the significant improvements observed in himself and his clients upon cutting out alcohol. Dr. O'Mara draws attention to the gradual realization of the negative impacts of alcohol consumption through lifestyle changes. Dr. O'Mara highlights the importance of quality sleep in preventing visceral fat. Impaired sleep, often caused by conditions like obstructive sleep apnea or benign prostatic hypertrophy, can contribute to visceral fat deposition. [37:10] Unlocking Optimal Health: The Power of Health Stacking Rather than advocating for a single dietary or exercise approach, Dr. O'Mara emphasizes the effectiveness of multiple lifestyle strategies for optimal health. He encourages individuals to adopt a holistic approach by integrating various practices such as dietary modifications, stress management, and exercise routines. Dr. O'Mara discusses the concept of health stacking, where individuals combine multiple lifestyle interventions to maximize health benefits. Today, I am blessed to have Connie Zack, the Co-Owner of Sunlighten. Sunlighten’s story began over 20 years ago when Connie and Aaron Zack watched her brother’s life transform with the help of infrared light—a decade of failing to find relief from a debilitating illness had brought him to a dark place in his health battle with chronic fatigue, mercury poisoning, and spinal injury. A dentist recommended infrared light therapy, and it changed his life. He came to life again, able to create his art and do what he loves once again. He founded Sunlight saunas to share what he had found and bring this healing light to others.  Inspired by his experience, the Zacks harnessed their history as pharmaceutical associates and committed everything they had to grow Sunlighten and mastering infrared light, bringing the most amount of infrared—and most health benefits—into the body so others could live their best lives too. They’ve poured their lives into helping others by innovating and leading the infrared sauna industry. In this episode, Connie dives into the transformative power of infrared heat therapy, particularly emphasizing its efficacy in weight loss, inflammation reduction, and pain relief. She highlights how infrared therapy, such as Sunlighten's, increases core body temperature by absorbing low resonance energy into cells, leading to caloric burn and significant reductions in waist circumference. Plus, Connie discusses how inflammation, a primary contributor to aging, can be regulated through far infrared therapy, promoting overall well-being without the side effects of medications. We explore the energy-boosting effects of infrared sauna therapy and its positive impact on cognitive function and emotional wellness. Tune in as we chat about infrared therapy's versatility and holistic benefits for enhancing overall wellness and productivity. Head to http://www.beamminerals.com and use the coupon code AZADI for a sweet discount!   [00:15] The Power of Infrared Heat Therapy for Weight Loss, Inflammation, and Pain Relief Infrared heat therapy, such as Sunlighten's, can aid in weight loss by increasing the body's core temperature by absorbing low resonance energy into cells. This process causes water molecules to vibrate, elevating the core temperature and converting energy into caloric burn.  Clinical studies have shown significant reductions in waist circumference with infrared therapy, offering a convenient way to burn calories while relaxing at home. Inflammation is identified as a primary contributor to aging, and far infrared therapy has been shown to regulate genes controlling inflammation. Unlike medication, infrared therapy addresses inflammation throughout the body by being absorbed into cells and working with mitochondria, offering a broad-spectrum approach to reducing inflammation without the side effects associated with medications.  Infrared heat therapy can alleviate pain and reduce the need for daily medication, providing relief while promoting overall well-being. [07:30] The Energy Boost of Infrared Sauna Therapy for Weight Loss and Overall Wellness Weight loss through infrared sauna therapy can be seen as a byproduct of upgrading one's overall health and metabolism.  By using infrared saunas regularly, individuals can enhance their metabolic rate and experience increased energy levels, positively impacting their ability to engage in physical activity and maintain a healthier lifestyle. One of the significant benefits of infrared sauna therapy is its boost in energy levels. Many individuals carrying extra weight often struggle with low energy levels, hindering their motivation to exercise or engage in physical activities.  By using infrared saunas, people can experience a surge in energy, making it easier to incorporate movement into their daily routines.  [14:35] The Power of Sauna Therapy for Cognitive Enhancement and Emotional Wellness Infrared sauna therapy consists of different wavelengths, each positively impacting mitochondria. By exposing oneself to multiple wavelengths, such as near-infrared, individuals can optimize the benefits for their mitochondria, enhancing overall brain function and health. Near infrared, being a short wavelength, penetrates the skin deeply and reaches the brain effectively. When absorbed by mitochondria, light energy from near infrared excites these cells, resulting in improved brain function, including heightened cognitive abilities and reduced brain fog. Far infrared therapy, by elevating core body temperature and regulating thermo-regulatory functions, has shown promise in aiding individuals with depression and sleep disorders.  By facilitating the body's natural ability to regulate temperature, far infrared therapy promotes better sleep quality, positively impacting mental health and stability. [26:20] Sunlighten's Patented Infrared Therapy for Maximum Absorption and Therapeutic Benefits Infrared therapy is a complex form of energy that requires precision to deliver effectively. Sunlighten has dedicated years to perfecting its technology, achieving an impressive absorption rate of up to 99%. This high level of infrared absorption ensures that every minute spent in a Sunlighten sauna maximizes the therapeutic benefits for the user. Sunlighten's dedication to excellence is exemplified by its patented technology, which guarantees users the highest quality infrared therapy. The patent provides peace of mind, knowing that Sunlighten saunas deliver unparalleled performance and efficacy compared to other products on the market. While various sources emit infrared energy, not all are equally effective for therapeutic purposes. Sunlighten distinguishes itself by filtering out impurities and delivering infrared energy in its purest form, optimizing absorption rates for maximum benefit to the user. [51:00] Infrared Therapy for Deep Cellular Activation and Holistic Wellness Infrared therapy differs from traditional heat because it penetrates the body deeply rather than merely heating the surrounding air. This allows the heat energy to be absorbed by water molecules and mitochondria within cells, comprising a significant portion of the body's composition.  Infrared therapy activates and works with approximately 60% of the body, leading to a more profound physiological impact. With infrared therapy, particularly in products like the Sunlighten Impulse, users receive a spectrum within a spectrum of energy. This includes far, mid, near, and red wavelengths, each having distinct effects on mitochondria and various bodily systems. The comprehensive spectrum facilitates a biochemical cascade throughout the body, promoting holistic wellness. One of the most significant benefits of infrared therapy is the inclusion of light energy, specifically near-infrared and red light. Unlike traditional heat, infrared therapy provides the body with essential light energy, often lacking in modern lifestyles.  [55:00] Infrared Therapy: Wellness and Productivity Enhancement Infrared therapy has been extensively studied and has shown positive impacts on various aspects of health, including detoxification, heart health, stress reduction, immunity, skin health, and sleep quality. The comprehensive nature of these benefits makes infrared therapy a valuable tool for promoting overall well-being. Unlike traditional saunas, which can be difficult to endure for extended periods due to high temperatures, infrared saunas allow users to enjoy the experience for longer.  Extended enjoyment enables individuals to engage in habit stacking, combining sauna sessions with activities such as breathwork, intention setting, visualization, strategic thinking, or even work planning. Traditional heat and infrared heat activate heat shock proteins, which boost the immune system and strengthen cells. Contrary to common belief, one can maintain high temperatures to activate these proteins. Any form of heat, including hot water or tea, can trigger the production of heat shock proteins. Today, I am blessed to have here with me David Reid. David Reid, a visionary and pioneer in holistic health, is the driving force behind Manna, a revolutionary endeavor dedicated to empowering humanity to reclaim its vitality and well-being through natural means. Ten years ago, David found himself at a crossroads, grappling with a profound sense of disconnection and fatigue, both physically and spiritually. As a former practitioner in the medical field, he recognized the limitations of conventional approaches and embarked on a transformative quest to unearth ancient wisdom and merge it with modern science. Driven by a relentless pursuit of purpose and inner peace, David boldly decided to leave behind his established career and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Little did he know, this decision would lead him to unlock profound secrets buried within the annals of history. Guided by an unwavering commitment to holistic healing, David's vision crystallized into Manna, an all-encompassing supplement crafted from nature's bounty. In this episode, we dive into David's journey of self-discovery and exploration of sacred knowledge; it led him to encounter two powerful substances, Shilajit and Ormus, revered for their health benefits. Through his quest, he crafted Manna, combining these elements to enhance vitality and well-being. Shilajit, hailed for its fertility and vitality-boosting properties, acts as a vital nutrient source, while Manna's transformative effects extend to improved libido and collagen production. Manna's potency stems from its role in optimizing bodily fluids, supported by clinical studies highlighting its impact on mitochondrial ATP production. Tune in as David emphasizes the importance of sourcing quality Shilajit, which varies based on altitude and fulvic acid content. [01:00] David's Odyssey of Self-Discovery and Sacred Knowledge David embarked on a journey driven by a profound desire to uncover fundamental truths about existence, asking deep questions about the purpose of life, human origins, and personal identity. His quest led him to explore various sacred sites worldwide, where he encountered Indigenous peoples who shared knowledge about sacred substances, micronutrients, and ancient practices integral to their cultures and traditions. Through his travels and interactions, David discovered two substances, Shilajit and Ormus, highly revered for their profound effects on health, resilience, and consciousness. Shilajit, sourced from the Himalayas, and Ormus, derived from the sea, stood out to him as particularly significant. David's journey eventually led him to explore the best versions and practices associated with these substances. He sought to refine their use and enhance their benefits, culminating in creating Manna, a product that combines Shilajit and Ormus for the first time, born not out of a commercial endeavor but from a deeply personal quest for self-discovery and improvement. [07:00] The Potency of Shilajit: A Timeless Elixir for Vitality and Well-Being Shilajit has been used in the East for thousands of years and is still prescribed by doctors in regions like the Himalayas and Nepal, where it is considered medicine. Shilajit is packed with micronutrients that are essential for the body. It acts as a "fertilizer for the blood," providing vital nutrients that may be lacking in modern diets due to depleted soils. Shilajit's benefits stem from its impact on the blood, which serves as a carrier for nutrients. It can boost fertility, increase testosterone levels, improve energy and brain performance, support heart and blood health, and enhance cellular longevity. Clinical studies have highlighted Shilajit's antiviral properties and ability to support the body's resilience, contributing to its increased popularity in the West. [14:50] The Transformative Effects of Manna on Body and Relationships Users of Mnana, particularly those who have taken it consistently for a few weeks, have reported increased production of pheromones, leading to heightened attraction from the opposite sex. In regions like Pakistan and Nepal, Manna, containing Shilajit and Ormus, is renowned as a natural alternative to Viagra, with users experiencing significant improvements in sexual performance and vitality. Regular consumption of Manna, typically two or three sachets a day, can lead to noticeable changes in body function and outward interactions.  Users have reported improved bodily functions and increased attractiveness to others. [16:50] The Electrolyte-Rich Elixir of Manna for Optimal Health and Longevity Manna has been subject to clinical studies focusing on its impact on mitochondrial ATP production. Manna's ability to enhance longevity is attributed to its role in optimizing bodily fluid function.  Manna supports overall health and vitality by providing essential micronutrients and electrical charge to bodily fluids. Manna contains ocean plasma and Ormus, potent sources of natural electrolytes. These electrolytes are crucial in cellular functioning, particularly concerning mitochondria and ATP production. [22:45] Shilajit Sourcing and Quality: Nutrient Density and Fulvic Acid Content The quality of Shilajit products can vary based on their sourcing. It's crucial to check the origin of the Shilajit, as some products may come from regions with lower nutrient content.  Shilajit sourced from higher altitudes tends to have higher concentrations of beneficial compounds. Fulvic acid content can serve as a marker of Shilajit quality, with higher percentages indicating superior nutrient density.  Variations in fulvic acid content often correlate with the altitude and location of the Shilajit source. Dr. Herman emphasizes the specificity of treatment using frequency therapy. By identifying the exact frequency of the pathogen causing the disease, they can create a precise remedy or formula called "quantum energized formula" to target and eliminate the infection. Dr. Herman suggests frequency therapy can address many infections, including bacteria like strep throat or H. pylori, fungi like Candida, molds, and even viral infections like the flu. The therapy aims to knock out the pathogen by matching its frequency, leading to the disappearance of symptoms. [07:10] The Power of Frequency Transfer in Targeted Healthcare Scientists found that the energy or frequency of a substance in water could be transferred to another water sample, similar to transferring energy with jumper cables from one battery to another.  The frequency of a substance can be transmitted across distances, potentially offering a method for targeted treatment without the physical presence of the substance itself. Different parts of the body, such as the stomach, heart, lungs, and brain, have their unique frequencies.  Dr. Herman suggests that understanding these individual frequencies allows for targeted treatments specific to each part of the body. [10:30] Toxin Transmission and Targeted Healing with Frequency Therapy Dr. Herman describes how saliva can carry pathogens such as Candida fungus and inflammatory substances from the bloodstream. When these contaminants are present in saliva and swallowed, they can reach various body parts, including the brain and kidneys. The contaminants carried by saliva can be deposited in different organs and tissues, leading to long-term accumulation of toxins. Dr. Herman compares this process to how an air conditioning filter accumulates dust over time, emphasizing the importance of addressing toxin buildup. Dr. Herman highlights the kidneys as a particularly vulnerable organ to toxin deposition from contaminated saliva. He explains that these toxins can cause kidney inflammation and other symptoms, even without apparent urinary tract infections. Dr. Herman discusses using frequency therapy, like homeopathy, to neutralize toxins in the body.  [15:40] Holistic Healing Through Muscle Testing and Biophysics Dr. Herman describes encountering patients with unexplained symptoms, such as numbness in a leg, despite thorough neurological exams and functional medicine testing yielding no conclusive findings. This led him to question the underlying causes of such ailments and seek alternative approaches to understanding and treating them. Dr. Herman shares his journey of skepticism turned conviction in the efficacy of muscle testing, a technique he initially doubted but eventually embraced as a valuable tool in his practice.  Through years of training and refinement, he developed skills in muscle testing, which he now views as a reliable method for assessing and addressing health issues. Dr. Herman recounts numerous cases where his holistic approach, incorporating muscle testing and biophysics work, led to remarkable patient health improvements. From alleviating chronic conditions like migraines, asthma, and heart disease symptoms to resolving skin issues and fatigue, he has witnessed significant transformations in his patients' well-being through targeted treatments. [21:15] Harmony in Health: The Impact of Thoughts on Water and Well-Being Negative thoughts or words create disordered structures, while positive thoughts or words create harmonious structures.  When we consume water while holding negative thoughts, those thoughts may imprint onto the water molecules, potentially impacting our health. Water is essential for hydrating all body parts, from the brain and heart to the skin, bones, organs, muscles, and lymphatic system. Every cell requires hydration, highlighting the importance of maintaining a positive mental state to ensure the health of these vital bodily components. Dr. Herman can identify negative emotions stored in the brain and body through unique emotional impact exams. By addressing and releasing these negative emotions, he has witnessed significant improvements in patients' mental and physical health, including relief from long-standing conditions such as depression, anxiety, stomach pain, headaches, and brain fog. [28:00] Tattooed by Trauma: How Emotional Imprints Shape Behavior and Well-Being Dr. Herman likens negative emotions and traumas to "tattoo ink" that can imprint on the brain and persist over time, affecting behavior and thought patterns. These emotional imprints may result from various experiences, such as childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, or significant losses. Despite efforts to improve their lives through self-help techniques like the law of attraction or positive affirmations, some individuals may find themselves stuck in self-sabotaging patterns.  Dr. Herman suggests deep-seated emotional imprints can hinder personal growth and success, leading to persistent feelings of inadequacy or failure. Just as different drivers operate a car differently, different pathogens in the brain can influence behavior and mood. Dr. Herman explains that removing specific pathogens, like viruses or bacteria, can lead to profound changes in personality and emotional well-being by altering the brain's functioning. Visit http://www.youtube.com/ketokamp  Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States, and most of the world. In the U.S, around 695,000 people die from heart disease every year. Every 33 seconds, someone dies from heart disease in the U.S. The most important question to ask is this… How do you clear out your arteries to prevent this from happening to you? I love the question because it has genius written all over it. Einstein said “Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them.” Good job being a genius. The body clears out arteries via high density lipoproteins (HDL). You’ve probably heard of this type of cholesterol called “good cholesterol.” Think of HDL as your body’s janitorial system which goes to work to sweep out blocked arteries. In this lesson, I’ll be sharing the best foods to help raise your HDL and clear out your arteries. Let’s first start with the worst foods that lower HDL and block your arteries… The first food is a classification of fats called vegetable oils. These fats are also called seed oils, omega 6 fats and linoleic acid.  These fats will arguably create heart disease faster than smoking cigarettes! There’s nine of them you want to avoid, and I’ll be sharing all nine in a minute but first I want you to understand why they are so dangerous to your arteries. These fats contain a chemical structure called double bonds, hence, these fats are polyunsaturated fatty acids.  The word “poly” means many, so they contain many double bonds. The reason this is problematic is because the more double bonds a fat has, the more unstable and reactive they are to heat. Most of these vegetable oils are processed at high heat temperatures, making them rancid. Companies will add chemical agents to mask the smell, and additives to make the oils clear. Then they bottle them up, and they land on the shelf of your grocery store. Beware, some of these vegetable oils have the stamp of approval from the American Heart Association even though they CAUSE HEART DISEASE! When fats oxidize, and we consume them, they end up inflaming our arteries. Think of a car that’s rusting inside and out, this is what vegetable oils are doing to your precious arteries.  Here’s a list of the nine fats you want to avoid. Canola oil (rapeseed oil in the UK) Corn oil Cottonseed oil Soybean oil Safflower oil Sunflower oil Grapeseed oil Rice Bran oil Refined Peanut oil I will share the healthier fats to swap them for which raises HDL and clears your arteries a little bit later. For now, let’s stick with the foods that are lowering HDL and abusing your arteries. The next on the list is processed carbohydrates. These include but are not limited to cereals, donuts, wheat bread, pasta, rice. When you consume high amounts of processed carbohydrates, it raises glucose and insulin levels. Insulin is an energy sensing hormone inside your body, and when it’s elevated this will cause you to store fat, and it will also create inflammation inside your arteries by damaging your blood vessels; this is like having hundreds of little construction workers inside your arteries with mini jack hammers! There’s really only one cause of heart disease, and that is damage to your blood vessel lining. There are multiple causes for damage to your blood vessels, but the number one cause are high levels of insulin! Carbohydrates spike glucose and insulin more than protein and fat. As a matter of fact, fat doesn’t touch the dial of insulin.  Aim to keep your total carbohydrates under 50 grams per day if your goal is ketosis, if not, aim to keep it low carb which is under 125 grams total per day.  Limit your carbohydrate intake, and avoid seed oils. Consume more of the fats and proteins I am about to share with you.  The following foods have been proven to raise HDL, lower your insulin levels and clear out your arteries.  Of course science backs up what I’m about to share, but also I’m living proof that these foods keep your janitorial system of HDL working all the time for you. As you can see on the screen, here are my HDL numbers over the years eating the foods I’m about to share with you.  In 2022 it was optimal at 61, and it continues to improve as you can see it went to 65 and then most recently 74.  Here are my fasting insulin levels over the years as well…. In 2022, it was at 6.6, in 2023 it was 3.6 and most recently in 2024 it was 3.7. You want your insulin in the single digits!  If you’d like to achieve high HDL and low insulin numbers like me, then here are the foods… The first list of foods are saturated fats. I know you’ve been told the opposite is true, and that saturated fats are the boogeyman but this has been proven to be false. Saturated fats contain no double bonds, making them very stable fats, especially when you compare them to the polyunsaturated fats we spoke about. My favorite saturated fats for raising HDL and clearing out arteries are… Grass Fed butter or ghee Nutrient Density: Grass-fed butter and ghee are rich in essential nutrients such as fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K2), omega-3 fatty acids, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). These nutrients play crucial roles in supporting overall health, including immune function, bone health, and heart health. Potential Anti-inflammatory Properties: Grass-fed butter and ghee contain higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants compared to their conventional counterparts. These compounds may help reduce inflammation in the body, which is associated with various chronic diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, and certain types of cancer. Red meat (beef and lamb) High-Quality Protein: Red meat and lamb are excellent sources of high-quality protein, containing all essential amino acids necessary for building and repairing tissues in the body. Adequate protein intake is essential for muscle maintenance, immune function, hormone production, and overall growth and development. Nutrient Density: Red meat and lamb are rich in essential nutrients such as iron, zinc, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6. Iron is particularly abundant in red meat and is a crucial component of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Zinc supports immune function and wound healing, while vitamin B12 and B6 are important for nerve function, red blood cell production, and metabolism. Heme Iron Absorption: Red meat contains heme iron, which is more readily absorbed by the body compared to non-heme iron found in plant-based foods. Heme iron absorption is especially important for individuals at risk of iron deficiency or anemia, as it helps maintain healthy red blood cell levels and prevents fatigue and weakness. Beef tallow (great for cooking)  Organic Pastured Pork (Did someone say bacon?!) Nutritional Quality: Organic pastured pork tends to have a higher nutritional quality compared to conventionally raised pork. It often contains higher levels of beneficial nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart health, brain function, and reducing inflammation. Additionally, organic pastured pork may have higher levels of antioxidants and vitamins due to the pigs' access to a natural diet and outdoor environment. Coconut oil High in Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs): Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), specifically lauric acid, caprylic acid, and capric acid. These MCTs are metabolized differently in the body compared to long-chain fatty acids, leading to various potential health benefits. MCTs are quickly absorbed and converted into energy by the liver, making coconut oil a source of quick energy and potentially supporting weight management. Antimicrobial and Antifungal Properties: Lauric acid, a predominant fatty acid in coconut oil, exhibits antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. It may help combat harmful bacteria, fungi, and viruses, making coconut oil a potential natural remedy for skin infections, candida overgrowth, and certain types of acne. Additionally, applying coconut oil topically may promote wound healing and skin health. Raw dairy. Great for the digestive system, much better than pasteurized dairy which 75% of the adult population in the world cannot digest!  My favorite monounsaturated foods for raising HDL and clearing out arteries are… Wild caught salmon. High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Wild-caught salmon is one of the best dietary sources of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These essential fatty acids play a crucial role in brain health, cardiovascular health, and reducing inflammation in the body. Consuming wild-caught salmon regularly can contribute to a healthy omega-3 intake and support overall well-being. Rich in Protein and Essential Nutrients: Wild-caught salmon is an excellent source of high-qu
I am blessed to have Dr. Nathan Bryan here with me again today. Dr. Bryan is an international leader in molecular medicine and nitric oxide biochemistry. Specifically, Dr. Bryan was the first to describe nitrite and nitrate as indispensable nutrients required for optimal cardiovascular health. He was the first to demonstrate and discover an endocrine function of nitric oxide via the formation of S-nitrosoglutathione and inorganic nitrite. In this episode, Dr. Bryan dives into various aspects of nutrition, health, and physiological processes. He emphasizes the importance of understanding food as fuel and tailoring diets to individual metabolic demands, highlighting the risks of excess carbohydrate consumption for sedentary individuals. Dr. Bryan then discusses the significance of recognizing symptoms as warning signs and reducing sugar intake for better health, advocating for personalized dietary approaches.  He challenges the historical demonization of fats in nutrition and critiques cholesterol-lowering approaches, stressing the essential role of fats in cellular function. Plus, we explore the landscape of intermittent fasting, addressing resistance to new data and the influence of pharmaceutical interests in medicine. Tune in as we chat about the crucial role of nitric oxide as a signaling molecule in various cellular processes, underscoring its importance for cardiovascular health and overall well-being. He highlights that a high-carb diet may be necessary for athletes with high energy demands to sustain their activity levels.  However, for most Americans who lead sedentary lifestyles, consuming excess carbohydrates without sufficient physical activity can lead to metabolic issues. Dr. Bryan points out the sedentary nature of many Americans' daily routines, which contributes to the accumulation of unused energy. This excess energy is stored as fat due to repeated insulin spikes caused by frequent eating, leading to hyperinsulinemia and metabolic disorders. He stresses the individuality of metabolic demands, stating that everyone's metabolism varies based on their level of physical activity and lifestyle. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to diet, and it should be tailored to fit each person's unique needs and activity levels. [14:55] Understanding Symptoms as Warning Signs and Reducing Sugar Intake Dr. Bryan emphasizes the importance of how your body reacts to different foods.  Symptoms such as bloating, acid reflux, and gas are signals that something you ate may be causing inflammation or distress. Ignoring these symptoms and relying solely on medication to mask them can lead to long-term health issues. Similar to how pain alerts us to potential dangers, symptoms serve as warning signs indicating something is not right internally. Ignoring these warning signs can put one's health at risk, leading to severe conditions like cancer or cardiovascular disease. Dr. Bryan recommends reducing sugar and carbohydrate intake as a proactive step towards better health. Lowering intake of these substances can help mitigate symptoms and reduce the risk of developing metabolic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular issues. [17:00] Revisiting Fat: Challenging Historical Demonization in Nutrition Dr. Bryan stresses the essential role of fats in the body, particularly emphasizing the importance of healthy fats.  Fats are vital components of cell membranes and play a crucial role in intracellular signaling, which is essential for proper cellular function. He criticizes the historical demonization of fats in the diet, which began in the 1950s and escalated in the 1980s. This demonization led to public policies and dietary recommendations that vilified fats and cholesterol, despite mounting evidence against such practices. Dr. Bryan highlights the failure of cholesterol-lowering approaches, such as statin medications, to effectively reduce cardiovascular disease rates as predicted. Instead, these approaches have unintended consequences, including metabolic imbalances, hormonal deficiencies, and immune system compromise. [29:00] Intermittent Fasting and Pharmaceutical Influence in Medicine Dr. Bryan emphasizes the substantial body of evidence supporting the benefits of intermittent fasting in improving longevity and healthspan.  Despite the overwhelming evidence, Dr. Bryan acknowledges resistance to accepting new data, especially when it challenges established narratives or interests of influential organizations, such as the pharmaceutical industry. The resistance may lead to efforts to defend existing practices rather than embracing potentially beneficial approaches. Dr. Bryan highlights that medicine is not solely an altruistic practice but also a for-profit business. He suggests that the pharmaceutical industry's primary goal is to retain customers, which may influence the dissemination and interpretation of scientific data. He underscores the importance of objectively and critically approaching scientific data without external entities' bias or influence. Dr. Bryan advocates for individuals to review data independently, make their interpretations, and utilize this information to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyle choices. [40:00] Carbohydrates, Personalized Nutrition, and the Role of Continuous Glucose Monitoring Dr. Bryan explains that all carbohydrates, including whole grains and fruits, are metabolized into sugar in the body. This process is relatively quick and straightforward, as carbohydrates are broken down into glucose, a cell's primary energy source. He illustrates the potential consequences of excessive carbohydrate consumption, highlighting the link between sugar intake and conditions like cancer. Dr. Bryan emphasizes the importance of recognizing individual metabolic differences in response to food.  He discusses continuous glucose monitors as a tool to track real-time blood sugar levels and understand how different foods affect individuals uniquely. This personalized approach allows for tailored dietary choices based on individual responses. [45:00] Nitric Oxide: A Crucial Signaling Molecule in Health and Disease Nitric oxide (NO) is a signaling molecule in the body that facilitates communication between cells. Despite initial skepticism due to its gaseous nature, NO is crucial in various cellular processes. One of NO's primary functions is as a vasodilator, relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. This mechanism enhances oxygen delivery to tissues and organs, which is essential for maintaining optimal cellular function. Dr. Bryan highlights the significance of NO in preventing arterial blockages and regulating blood pressure. Dysfunction in NO production can lead to conditions like cardiovascular disease and hypoxemia, as observed in COVID-19 patients. Beyond vasodilation and oxygen delivery, NO also inhibits inflammation, mobilizes stem cells, and regulates telomere length. These functions contribute to tissue repair, recovery from injury, and overall health maintenance. Did you know there are 7 foods you might be consuming that cause MORE inflammation and a shortened lifespan than smoking cigarettes! I’m going to outline all 7 of these foods, and at the end I will share with you the most important supplement to take every single day to heal your metabolism and lower inflammation. Let’s start with the first food… Wheat Dr William Davis in Wheat Belly showed research on what wheat bread does to spike blood sugar. I’ve had the honor of interviewing Dr William Davis on my Metabolic Freedom Podcast. His research shows that two slices of wheat bread will spike blood sugar as much as a 12 ounce can of soda or a Snickers bar! High levels of blood sugar inside the body will shorten your life. A study showed that an A1C of 7.5% or higher will take 100 days off your life each year it’s at that level. This means, if it remains at this level for 15 years, you lose 4 years off your lifespan! It’s not only the glucose spike from wheat that’s an issue… Most wheat has been sprayed with glyphosate. Glyphosate is a nasty pesticide that chelates minerals from your body, and causes leaky gut. What is a leaky gut? This happens when your mucosal barrier is inflamed to the point where your tight junctions rip open, allowing undigested food particles into your bloodstream. Yes, essentially this means you have poop particles floating around in your blood! This has detrimental effects on your mitochondria health too. Most health experts would agree that the key to aging gracefully, having energy and burning fat; is directly linked to how healthy your mitochondria are. Your mitochondria uses two primary sources for energy production.. Amino acids, and minerals. Your body can make amino acids, and you can get it from quality protein. However, your body does not make minerals. You have to get it from your diet. If you are getting enough minerals from your diet, but eating wheat, this chelates minerals away from your mitochondria. What does this mean for you? You become fatigued, and you gain weight. The wheat in the United States has also been hybridized to become a dwarf wheat. Our metabolism does not process this dwarf wheat efficiently, which impacts our metabolic health.  Additionally, MIT researcher Stephanie Seneff has shown with her studies that glyphosate pushes toxic heavy metals such as mercury and aluminum, deeper into your tissue and brain! Yikes. Their research has also shown strong correlations between the application of glyphosate, and diseases such as diabetes, Alzeihmer’s, dementia, and more. Here is a list of foods that contain wheat… Bread crumbs Bulgur  Couscous  Cereal Einkorn Farro Flour Pasta Matzah Seitan Spelt Sprouted wheat Wheat protein Biscuits Crackers Waffles Pancakes Bread Scones Cookies Kamut  Great alternatives to wheat are the following… Cassava flour Coconut flour Rice flour Tapioca flour  A quick word of caution, other foods high in glyphosate include corn, soy and coffee! Farmed Fish is the next food that destroys your health… Most farmed fish are fed GMO corn, soybean, canola oil, wheat and other animal byproducts.  Farmed fish is naturally gray, so the fish farmers add a pink dye to change its color to look more “natural”. Farmed fish also contain high amounts of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s) which are carcinogenic, and antibiotics which destroy your healthy gut flora.  Get wild caught fish. Remember this too, the smaller the fish, the less toxins. Most big fish (tuna, swordfish, etc) have a higher concentration of toxins.  The safest wild caught fish option is the S.M.A.S.H. acronym. Sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, and herring.  I personally get my seafood and meats from Wild Pasture’s. They only source their food from high quality farmers using regenerative farming, and wild caught seafood. You can get a special deal with them heading to http://www.ketokampmeat.com  Next we have industrialized seed oils, also called vegetable oil. Other names for these toxic fats include linoleic acid, omega 6 fats and polyunsaturated fatty acids. It’s not that all omega 6 fats and seed oils are bad for you, it’s the processing of them that makes them so inflammatory. The reason they are called polyunsaturated fats is because the chemical structure has “many” double bonds. This is what the word “poly” stands for. The more chemical bonds a fat has, the more aggressive it attracts oxygen, and the faster it oxidizes. Think of an apple you bite into and leave on the counter. After a few hours, it turns brown. This is oxidation and exactly what is happening to your cells. They process these unstable fats at high heat which makes the fat go rancid and stink. So they add chemical agents and bleach to hide the smell and change the color. When I interviewed Dr Cate Shanahan on my Metabolic Freedom podcast, I asked her what was worse… smoking, sugar or these bad fats. She said it’s easily the vegetable oils. This is because the oxidized linoleic acid stays in your body for years. It’s estimated that the half life of linoleic acid inside your body is 680 days! Here is a list of the 9 fats you want to avoid… Corn oil (also called rapeseed oil in the UK) Canola oil Cottonseed oil Sunflower oil Safflower oil Soybean oil Grapeseed oil Rice Bran Oil Refined Peanut Oil Fish oil  Swap them for saturated and monounsaturated fats.  The Best Fats For Cooking at High Temps Are The Following Animal Fats: Butter Ghee Beef Tallow Duck Fat Lard (non hydrogenated from pastured pigs) The Best Fats For Salad Dressings, Drips & Low Heat Cooking Are The Following Fruit Based Fats:  Coconut Oil Avocado Oil Extra Virgin Olive Oil What do you do at restaurants? Use the seed oil allergy card! Head to www.seedoilcard.com to get it for free.  Fruit juice and excessive fruits. These are mitochondrial poison! I have interviewed Dr David Perlmutter and Dr Richard Johnson on the Metabolic Freedom Podcast, all about the topic of fructose as it relates to increased uric acid levels and disease.  People with high uric acid levels have an increased risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.  There’s a relationship between these diseases and uric acid.  Uric acid directly leads to insulin resistance. Your Body Is Retaining Uric Acid As A Survival Mechanism   We tend to retain uric acid. Our uric acid levels can be higher as a survival mechanism, thanks to our primate ancestors. We don't hibernate for six months. We don't need to be storing this fat for the winter that never comes.  Individuals with higher uric acid levels have a higher risk of dying from Covid. Your Body Can’t Handle More Than Five Grams of Fructose At A Time Your body can handle some fructose, about five grams at a time.  When your body is presented with high levels of fructose, it overwhelms what the body can do.  When fructose is delivered in the context of fiber, it slows the absorption. Vitamin C aids in uric acid excretion.  Most common way to overdo fructose consumption is by drinking fruit juice.  This is the leading cause of gout. Dr Richard Johnson’s book Nature Wants Us To Be Fat pointed out that animals in the wild will eat a bunch of fruit right before hibernation to pack on as much fat as possible. 90% of fructose is metabolized by the liver. Overtime, the liver becomes fatty. This leads to insulin resistance, then diabetes, and eventually cancer and heart disease.  Avoid fruit juice. Limit or avoid fruit in general until you’ve restored your metabolism, then you can bring fruit back in moderation.  Artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners can disrupt your gut microbiome and increase your hunger.  Studies suggest that artificial sweeteners are not properly metabolized inside of the body, and for some, it can increase insulin levels. The artificial sweeteners to avoid are… Sucralose (Splenda) May 2023 study showed sucralose caused DNA damage. Geno toxic!  Aspartame Acesulfame potassium (Ace K)  Replace these with the following safe and healthy sugar alternat
Today, I am blessed to have Dr. David Harper here with me. As an educator, researcher, and health consultant, Dr. David Harper has studied the impact of diet on human health for many years. The culmination of that extensive work is the BioDiet, a well-formulated ketogenic plan that works with the body’s natural processes to improve health and reverse decades of damage caused by our collective carbohydrate addiction. Dr. Harper and Dale Drewery adopted the BioDiet in 2012 and the weight loss and health improvements they experienced led him to counsel hundreds of people on the Biodiet with similarly consistent and impressive results. Dr. Harper is an associate professor of kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley and a visiting scientist at the BC Cancer Research Center, Terry Fox Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in comparative physiology at the University of Cambridge. He is on the scientific advisory board of the Canadian Clinicians for Therapeutic Nutrition and is a member of the Institute for Personalized Therapeutic Nutrition. In this episode, we cover everything from the potential benefits of ketogenic diets for metastatic breast cancer patients to the intricate workings of the immune system and the therapeutic potential of dietary interventions. Dr. Harper's insights provide a fascinating journey through the complex interplay between diet, metabolism, and disease, offering hope and new perspectives on health and wellness. Tune in as we chat about how ketogenic diets offer a promising therapeutic approach for cancer treatment and neurological conditions by moderating glucose levels, promoting mitochondrial turnover, and enhancing cellular health through AMPK activation and arachidonic acid modulation. This research sheds light on alternative treatment options and highlights the potential of dietary interventions in cancer therapy. Dr. Harper shares a personal connection to cancer, having lost his mother to the disease during his childhood. This personal experience fuels his dedication to cancer research and underscores the widespread impact of cancer on individuals and families. Dr. Harper discusses the ongoing "war on cancer," emphasizing that it is an internal battle within our bodies. This perspective challenges the traditional notion of a war against cancer as an external enemy and underscores the complexity of cancer biology and prevention. [06:45] The Immune System's Role in Disease Dr. Harper outlines the three levels of the immune system: surface barriers, innate immune response, and adaptive immune system. Each level is crucial in identifying and destroying harmful agents, including cancer cells.  Inflammation, mainly through the innate immune response, is intertwined with cancer development. Dr. Harper links chronic diseases like cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and Alzheimer's to metabolic dysfunction.  He highlights obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation as interconnected components of the "axis of illness." Dr. Harper emphasizes the role of diet, particularly high-carbohydrate diets, in exacerbating metabolic dysfunction and chronic disease. He advocates for a ketogenic diet, low in carbohydrates and high in healthy fats, as a means to improve metabolic health, reduce inflammation, and potentially prevent or manage diseases like cancer and diabetes. [22:30] Insulin's Vital Role: Mitochondrial Health and Ketogenic Solutions Dr. Harper emphasizes the importance of insulin as a signaling molecule, crucial for various bodily functions, including protein synthesis, regulating body fluids, and brain function. He highlights the alarming trend of increasing diabetes and pre-diabetes rates among American adults, primarily attributed to lifestyle factors such as poor diet and obesity. Due to poor dietary choices, Dr. Harper argues that dysregulation of mitochondria, the energy converters within cells, is the root cause of many chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. He advocates for a ketogenic diet, high in healthy fats and low in carbohydrates, as a means to reverse metabolic dysfunction, reduce inflammation, and potentially prevent or manage chronic diseases like diabetes and cancer. [29:30] Revolutionizing Eating Habits: A Prescription for a Healthier Lifestyle Dr. Harper emphasizes the importance of consuming various vegetables, particularly those that grow above the ground and are low in carbohydrates. This encourages a nutrient-rich and balanced diet. He suggests replacing high-carbohydrate foods with low-carb, higher-fat options. For instance, opting for unsweetened, high-fat yogurt instead of sugar-laden varieties and using natural sweeteners like allulose instead of sugar. Dr. Harper acknowledges that transitioning to a healthier diet may require more time and effort in sourcing and preparing food. However, he views this as a positive shift, promoting mindfulness and more nutritious eating habits compared to the convenience of fast food. He advocates for a cultural shift towards appreciating food as an essential aspect of human life and culture, promoting communal eating experiences and emphasizing the enjoyment of different flavors and cooking techniques. This perspective contrasts with the convenience-focused, fast-paced eating habits prevalent in modern society. [34:50] Cancer's Weakness: The Therapeutic Potential of Ketogenic Diets Cancer cells rely primarily on glucose for energy due to their inability to undergo oxidative phosphorylation, unlike normal cells, which can utilize various fuel sources. By reducing carbohydrate intake and increasing fat consumption through a ketogenic diet, glucose levels are moderated, depriving cancer cells of their preferred fuel source. Beta-hydroxybutyrate, the primary ketone produced in a ketogenic state, acts as a potent cell signaler with multifaceted effects on cancer cells. Studies, including those conducted with metastatic breast cancer patients, suggest that a ketogenic diet can complement standard cancer treatments by potentially inhibiting tumor growth, improving metabolic health, and enhancing the immune response without adverse effects. [50:45] The Role of Mitophagy, AMPK Activation, and Arachidonic Acid in Ketogenic Diets  Mitophagy, the process of breaking down old mitochondria and generating new ones, is promoted by exercise by activating AMPK.  Like exercise, ketogenic diets activate AMPK, potentially contributing to mitochondrial turnover and overall cellular health. Changes in arachidonic acid levels induced by ketogenic diets may influence the fluidity of cell membranes. This alteration could be linked to the efficacy of ketogenic diets in treating neurological conditions, such as epilepsy, by affecting cellular signaling and function. Ketogenic diets have shown promising results in improving various neurological conditions, including epilepsy, depression, bipolar disorder, Parkinson's disease, and possibly autism. These positive outcomes suggest a link between mitochondrial function, cellular health, and neurological well-being. I’m going to share with you a 7 day protocol that you would repeat weekly to lose 1 pound of fat per day. No, you don’t have to suffer. No, you don’t have to even count calories. No, you don’t have to rely on willpower.  In fact, this will be easy.  The first step is an optimal eating window, and fasting window.  I understand that asking you to practice fasting may sound like me telling you to hold your breath for 10 minutes, but allow me to simplify this for you! You have hundreds of hormones inside your body. Hormones are chemical messengers. Some hormones activate fat burning, some hormones help with energy, some hormones help with longevity, but ONLY ONE HORMONE causes fat storage (and shuts off fat burning). This hormone is called insulin. Insulin is an energy sensor (amongst other things), and when you activate the insulin troops, your fat burning hormones are GONE. Insulin is the bully of the block. You might be wondering, “How do you lower insulin?”  Great question! Intermittent fasting! 18/6 daily fasting schedule, but the key is to eat between 8am-2pm (3 meals) Tuesday - Sunday (18/6 schedule) 8am - 2pm) with 3 meals. We will discuss what you are eating next.  Sunday - Monday 24 hour fast 2pm - 2pm  The next step is to do this once per week. One day per week throw in a 24 hour fast… Sunday you are done eating at 2pm, Monday go until 2pm.  Get in cardio during your 24 hour fast.  What can you have during your fasting window? A simple 3 dietary exchange…. Exchange 1: Remove The Following Insulin Spiking & High Plant Toxin Foods Wheat All grains Brown rice Millet White Rice Oats (Includes oatmeal) Barley Corn Soy Pasteurized Cow Dairy Spinach Kale Tomato Almonds & Almond flour Eggplants  Pepper Peanuts & Peanut butter Replace With Following Insulin Friend & Low Plant Toxin Foods Cauliflower rice Squash rice Cabbage rice Sheep & goat dairy Coconut milk (unsweetened) Macadamia nut milk (unsweetened) Walnuts Pecans Pili Nuts Macadamia nuts  Arugula Asparagus  Exchange 2, replace inflammatory fats with healthy fats Remove The Following Bad Fats… Canola Oil Corn Oil (Rapeseed oil in the UK) Cottonseed Oil Safflower Oil Sunflower Oil Soybean Oil Rice Bran Oil Refined Peanut Oil Grapeseed Oil  Fish Oil  Please note, it’s not that omega 6 fats are bad for you, it’s the processed omega 6 fats that are extremely damaging to your cells. Replace With The Following Stable Fats (Saturated & Monounsaturated Fats)  The Best Fats For Cooking at High Temps Are The Following Animal Fats: Butter Ghee Beef Tallow Duck Fat Lard (non hydrogenated from pastured pigs) The Best Fats For Salad Dressings, Drips & Low Heat Cooking Are The Following Fruit Based Fats:  Coconut Oil Avocado Oil Extra Virgin Olive Oil What do you do at restaurants? Use the seed oil allergy card! Head to www.seedoilcard.com to get it for free.  The third exchange is to replace sugar and artificial sweeteners with healthier choices. Remove the following Raw Sugar Processed Sugar Fruit Juice Evaporated Cane Juice Agave Nectar Sucralose (Splenda) Aspartame  Replace these with the following safe and healthy sugar alternatives… Stevia Monk Fruit Allulose Xylitol Erythritol  Raw Honey (limited) Mention Keto Kamp Blueprint Grocery Shopping List: http://www.ketokampblueprint.com (Free Download) Fat burning coffee bio-hack.  Coffee’s most powerful polyphenol, chlorogenic acid, or CGA, tells your body’s fat cells to burn their fatty acids for fuel. This is the same mechanism that statin drugs use to lower your cholesterol, without potential side effects. CGA cuts cravings, suppresses appetite and activates the liver to produce more bile, aiding in detoxing your cells. It helps the liver to process fats and glucose more efficiently by lowering triglyceride levels and stabilizing blood sugars.  The effect of this blood sugar balancing act decreases your risk for metabolic syndrome and diabetes while inhibiting the growth of new fat cells. Working together with the caffeine in coffee, CGA helps to reduce belly fat by increasing the number of cells that are burned for energy. It even works while you’re sleeping! A Norwegian study found that women who drank high-CGA coffee dropped three times more weight than those who consumed lower CGA brews. You want to choose a medium roast as opposed to a dark one. Once the beans are roasted beyond medium, they’ve lost a whopping 75 percent of their fat-blasting polyphenols. Also, coffee grown in high altitudes with extreme temperature changes produces the most polyphenols. My favorite clean coffee is from Purity Coffee. Get their coffee here http://www.ketokampcoffee.com and use the coupon code KETOKAMP at checkout for a nice discount. African Mango to promote weight loss especially around your waist and hips. Raspberry Ketones which may help increase production of adiponectin, your body’s fat-producing hormone. L-Carnitine to increase your mitochondria’s ability to burn fat for energy. Green Tea Leaf extract contains a rich source of EGCG to help kick your metabolism into overdrive. Forskolin Extract derived from mint plants to aid weight loss by helping to balance your body’s appetite hormone, leptin. You can purchase these ingredients all separately, or get them from Uni Key’s Radical metabolism product:  https://unikeyhealth.com/?sscid=41k8_21hl5  Study shows people who sleep 8.5 hours burn 400 more calories each day than those who sleep less than 6.5 hours.  Sleep is a big player here. Delta sleep achieves fat burning sleep. The goal is 90 minutes per night. Banana Tea Cold Bedroom Sleep Mask Mouth Taping When you don’t get quality sleep, you will have higher levels of glucose, cortisol follows, and the cortisol belly ensues. Ghrelin peaks, leptin decrease. All bad.  Eating earlier in the day will help tremendously with deep, delta sleep.  Here are the resources mentioned on today's interview: ☕ My favorite clean coffee is from Purity Coffee. This personal experience shapes his understanding and empathy towards patients facing similar challenges. Despite excelling academically and professionally, Dr. Palmer's health deteriorates, leading to metabolic syndrome despite following conventional medical advice diligently. His frustration with traditional treatments, including medication and therapy, mirrors the experiences of many patients who feel failed by the system. Dr. Palmer's skepticism towards the Atkins diet initially gives way to curiosity when faced with his health challenges. Despite doubts, he tries the diet and experiences profound improvements in his physical health and mood, energy levels, and overall well-being. Over time, Dr. Palmer cautiously incorporates the ketogenic diet into his psychiatric practice, observing remarkable improvements in patients with various mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and even schizophrenia. Despite initial skepticism, he witnesses firsthand the transformative potential of dietary interventions in mental health treatment. [23:00] Insights into the Ketogenic Diet's Potential for Mental Health Dr. Palmer emphasizes that while there are numerous mechanisms through which the ketogenic diet may affect health, they are all interconnected and relevant to mental illness.  He underscores the multifaceted nature of dietary interventions and their potential impact on brain function. The gut microbiome, brain metabolism, insulin signaling, glucose regulation, and neurotransmitters are all interconnected aspects of health that the ketogenic diet can influence. Dr. Palmer highlights the importance of understanding these connections in addressing mental health disorders. He explains how the ketogenic diet stimulates processes like mitophagy (the removal of old mitochondria) and mitochondrial biogenesis (the production of new mitochondria), which he believes are crucial for aiding individuals with mental illness in their healing and recovery journey. [24:45] Rare Disorders, Biomarkers, and the Future of Personalized Treatment Dr. Palmer highlights the importance of considering rare genetic disorders like glucose transport deficiency syndrome when determining candidacy for the ketogenic diet. For individuals with these disorders, the ketogenic diet can be a life-saving treatment due to their inability to metabolize glucose effectively. Dr. Palmer acknowledges the lack of definitive biomarkers for identifying candidates for the diet in the context of mental illness or seizures. Current biomarkers are limited and primarily relevant to extreme cases with evident metabolic dysfunction. Dr. Palmer emphasizes that brain metabolism differs from peripheral metabolism, suggesting that factors like blood type or insulin signaling are unreliable indicators of ketogenic diet compatibility. Insulin resistance in the brain can occur independently of peripheral blood sugar levels, complicating the search for biomarkers. Despite the current limitations in biomarker identification, Dr. Palmer expresses hope for future advancements in this area. Improved biomarkers could enhance the ability to predict individual responses to ketogenic therapies, facilitating more personalized treatment approaches. [29:30] Precision in Ketosis Monitoring: Optimizing Therapeutic Benefits Dr. Palmer discusses the limitations of urine strips and breath meters in accurately measuring ketosis levels.  He recommends blood monitoring for his patients to ensure a precise assessment of ketone levels, emphasizing the importance of achieving and maintaining optimal ketosis for therapeutic benefits. Sustaining higher ketone levels for a couple of months is crucial for realizing therapeutic effects. Patients undergoing dietary changes often notice a correlation between decreasing ketone levels and the recurrence of mental health symptoms, such as hallucinations, delusions, mood instability, and OCD symptoms. This underscores the importance of maintaining ketosis for symptom management. [36:25] Navigating Mental Health and the Ketogenic Diet Dr. Palmer emphasizes the importance of a three-month commitment from patients undergoing dietary interventions for mental health. This timeframe allows for a comprehensive assessment of symptom improvement and helps patients understand the potential benefits over time. Patients often experience dramatic improvements in symptoms and quality of life after committing to the ketogenic diet for three months. Despite initial reluctance, many patients express gratitude for the positive changes and are willing to continue the diet long-term to maintain their improved mental health. Dr. Palmer highlights the potential dangers of keto-adaptation for individuals with severe mental health conditions.  Keto adaptation involves significant metabolic changes that can exacerbate symptoms such as insomnia, hallucinations, and mood instability, making medical supervision essential during this phase. [43:00] The Role of Exogenous Ketones in Health  Dr. Palmer emphasizes that exogenous ketones are not equivalent to the ketogenic diet and cannot be substituted for it. They do not address underlying metabolic issues like insulin resistance or inflammation. Despite widespread interest, case reports need to be published demonstrating the effectiveness of exogenous ketones alone in controlling seizures. This highlights the importance of distinguishing between exogenous ketones and the ketogenic diet in clinical practice. Exogenous ketones may have a role as adjunctive therapy for individuals already following a ketogenic diet, especially if they struggle to achieve desired ketone levels. They may also benefit athletes seeking performance enhancement. Dr. Palmer underscores the growing body of research on exogenous ketones for various conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and substance use disorders.  AND MUCH MORE! 88%+ are deficient in this single molecule which helps with neurotransmitters, cardiovascular health, lowering inflammation, metabolism, erections / sexual function, energy and MANY more important functions inside the human body.  This molecule is gas called nitric oxide.  Nitric oxide (NO) is a molecule that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes in the human body, including inflammation. It is a gaseous signaling molecule that acts as a vasodilator, meaning it helps to relax and widen blood vessels. When the blood vessels widen it allows oxygen and nutrients to EVERY cell inside the body. Nitric oxide is produced by various cells, including endothelial cells (cells lining blood vessels), immune system (macrophages), and brain cells (neurons). Controls mitochondria and telomeres. It helps your body recover from injury and workouts. It’s been called the holy grail of anti-aging medicine.  Nitric oxide can also have anti-inflammatory effects. It can modulate the immune response by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Additionally, nitric oxide can regulate the activity of immune cells, such as T cells and neutrophils, to prevent excessive inflammation and tissue damage. In 1992 the journal of science called it the molecule of the year It’s how cells communicate with each other. Imagine if you are trying to call your best friend to warn them about an intruder coming to their house, but your communication lines have been cut.  Things will go wrong! The most common symptoms of nitric oxide deficiency include High blood pressure Erectile dysfunction Cardiovascular disease Alzeihmers Dementia Insulin resistance Type 2 diabetes Weight Gain Why are so many people nitric oxide deficient? Let’s get into the top 6 causes of low nitric oxide levels and the solutions for each… Antiseptic Mouthwash (Scope, Listerine, etc) and Fluoride toothpaste  - Dr Nathan Bryan has published research showing when you use mouthwash it kills the oral microbiome that responsible for making nitric oxide, your blood pressure goes up and you develop erectile dysfunction. This dramatic decrease in NO levels happens within days of using mouthwash.  Swap to essential oils. My go to toothpaste is Revitin (see link below), and my go to mouthwash is from Doterra (link below) A diet high in carbohydrates will raise high blood sugar levels leading to glycation of nitric oxide synthase enzyme - A better diet would be low carb, keto and fasting. The 10 best foods for nitric oxide are ….  Leafy greens: Vegetables like spinach, kale, arugula, and Swiss chard are high in nitrates, which are converted into nitric oxide in the body. These greens also contain other beneficial nutrients like vitamins C and K, which support overall vascular health. Beets: Beets and beetroot juice are well-known for their high nitrate content. Consuming beets can help increase nitric oxide production and improve blood flow, potentially enhancing exercise performance and cardiovascular health. Garlic: Garlic contains allicin, a compound that can stimulate nitric oxide production and help relax blood vessels. Incorporating garlic into your diet, whether raw or cooked, can be beneficial for cardiovascular health. Citrus fruits: Fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are rich in vitamin C, which is a cofactor for the enzyme that produces nitric oxide. Including citrus fruits in your diet can support nitric oxide synthesis and promote vascular health. Pomegranate: Pomegranates are packed with antioxidants, including polyphenols, which have been shown to enhance nitric oxide production and improve endothelial function. Nuts and seeds: Almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds are good sources of arginine, an amino acid that serves as a precursor to nitric oxide synthesis. These foods can help boost nitric oxide levels in the body. Dark chocolate: High-quality dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70% or more contains flavonoids that promote nitric oxide production and improve blood flow. Enjoying moderate amounts of dark chocolate can have cardiovascular benefits. Watermelon: Watermelon is rich in citrulline, an amino acid that converts to arginine in the body, thus supporting nitric oxide production and vascular health. Fish: Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and trout are good sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties and can improve endothelial function, indirectly supporting nitric oxide production. Green tea: Green tea contains catechins, polyphenolic compounds that have been shown to enhance nitric oxide production and improve vascular function. Proton pump inhibitors Antacids - in 2015 studies showed that people on PPI’s for 3-5 years have a 35% higher incidence in heart attack or strokes because of what it does to shut down nitric oxide. They are extremely dangerous long term. If you are dealing with heartburn, most of the time it’s NOT a problem of too much acid, it's a problem with too little and the LES (lower esophageal spincter) is not functioning well. Getting into a parasympathetic state before eating can help, humming ( Humming also helps with NO. When you hum you produce nasal NO) and gratitude before eating helps, also adding 1 tablespoon of acv before meals.  Mouth breathing - Nitric oxide is released in the nasal airways in humans when you breathe through your nostrils. When you primarily breath through your mouth, it prevents NO from being produced. Focus on nostril breathing throughout the day, and mouth tape at night. I personally use Somnifix, I will drop a link below for them.  Sedentary lifestyle - Yo’ve heard sitting is the new smoking, it’s true. If you don’t use it, you lose it. Get 10k steps per day, and the best exercises for NO are sprinting, strength training, bonus points if you do it outside getting sunshine. Also, a good general protocol is 20-30 minutes of aerobic exercise 2-3 times per week.  Statins disrupt lipid rafts and cell signaling and mitochondria. When you lower your cholesterol below 200, it blocks nitric oxide from binding to the cell receptors. Cholesterol is not the boogeyman , it is vital for liver and hormone health. But the statin industry made 15.4 billion last year so why would they want you to know this? Your cell membrane is made of cholesterol! Lastly, nitric oxide supplementation can help. He highlights heart disease as the leading cause of death in the United States, emphasizing the frequency of fatalities attributed to it. Despite questionable research methods and flawed conclusions, Ben dives into the history of Ancel Keys, a pivotal figure in shaping the belief that fats cause heart disease. Also, Ben challenges the conventional wisdom linking cholesterol to heart attacks, arguing that cholesterol plays a crucial role in the body's functions. He cites Dr. Philip Ovadia, a heart surgeon, who asserts that damage to blood vessels is the sole cause of heart disease. Overall, Ben advocates for reevaluating commonly held beliefs about nutrition and health. Empowering Health: Insulin Sensitivity and Self-Healing Ben emphasizes the critical importance of insulin sensitivity, highlighting it as the initial factor preceding the onset of various diseases. He urges individuals to prioritize testing their fasting insulin levels, aiming for single-digit readings to indicate sensitivity. Ben warns against the dangers of insulin resistance, which can develop over 14 years before diabetes diagnosis. He challenges the traditional approach to managing health conditions, particularly regarding cholesterol, citing the profitability of the statin industry despite evidence suggesting that normal to low cholesterol levels can still lead to heart attacks. Ben advocates for empowering individuals and communities to take control of their health, emphasizing the body's innate ability to self-heal.  Purpose, Ketosis, and Metabolic Transformation Ben highlights the correlation between Monday mornings and a higher incidence of heart attacks, attributing this phenomenon to the stress and lack of purpose that many people experience in their daily lives. He emphasizes the importance of living purposefully as a significant biohack for overall health. Ben discusses the protective effects of ketosis on the heart, dispelling misconceptions about keto diets and heart health. He explains how ketones signal mitochondrial reproduction and influence various cellular processes beyond cardiac energetics. Ben presents alarming statistics on the metabolic health of Americans, indicating a high prevalence of metabolic inflexibility and obesity. He shares his journey of overcoming obesity and depression through lifestyle changes, emphasizing the potential for anyone to transform their health with dedication and responsibility. Insights on Metabolic Dysfunction and Disease Prevention Ben discusses the root causes of metabolic dysfunction and disease, starting with toxins. He highlights the pervasive presence of environmental toxins, citing alarming statistics about newborns' exposure to toxic chemicals. Ben emphasizes the importance of avoiding plastic consumption and thermal receipts containing BPA. He challenges the conventional belief that obesity is solely a result of overeating, stressing the role of toxins in metabolic dysfunction and diabetes. Next, Ben addresses adulterated seed oils, emphasizing their harmful effects on health and advocating for their replacement with healthier alternatives like saturated and monounsaturated fats. He provides practical tips for avoiding these harmful oils when cooking and dining out. Ben then discusses glyphosate, linking its application to various diseases, including dementia, diabetes, autism, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's. He encourages consuming organic, non-GMO foods and suggests using B minerals like fulvic and humic acids to mitigate glyphosate exposure. Ben emphasizes the need for awareness and proactive measures to address these root causes of metabolic dysfunction and disease, advocating for lifestyle changes and healthier choices to promote overall well-being. The Cycle of Sickness in American Society Ben dives into the concept of "sick care" prevalent in American society, where individuals are sold and subjected to sickness. He illustrates this cycle, where people consume unhealthy processed foods, experience symptoms, receive prescriptions, and continue the unhealthy cycle. Symptoms, Ben argues, are not the problem but instead signals from the body to address underlying issues. He emphasizes the need to view symptoms as gifts and to address root causes rather than masking them with medication. Ben highlights the influence of mainstream media and advertising, particularly by pharmaceutical companies and fast food chains, in shaping beliefs and behaviors related to health. He stresses the importance of understanding how the environment influences beliefs, thoughts, actions, and destiny.   Mastering the Mind: The Power of Thought in Health and Well-being Ben dives into the profound influence of thoughts on one's health and well-being. He reveals that the average person entertains a staggering 60,000 thoughts daily, with most of these thoughts being repetitive and negative. Quoting Zig Ziglar, he highlights the detrimental impact of negative thinking on one's aspirations, likening it to "stinking thinking" that shrinks dreams. Ben engages the audience by asking how many talk to themselves, emphasizing that all individuals engage in self-dialogue, consciously or not. He distinguishes between mental activity and conscious thinking, citing George Bernard Shaw's observation that only a tiny percentage of people actively engage in genuine thought. [04:09] Metabolic Flexibility and Macronutrients Carbohydrates and fats are two of the four major fuels for the body and are often referred to as macronutrients. Many people struggle to process and burn carbs and fats efficiently, frequently favoring one fuel source over another. Metabolic inflexibility refers to the body's inability to process both carbs and fats effectively, whereas metabolic flexibility refers to the body's ability to burn both carbs and fats efficiently. The Met Flex Diet is a six-week program that teaches the body how to effectively burn both fuels by exposing it to carbs and fats and incorporating keto and carb-loading elements. According to scientific evidence, cyclical keto cycling (alternating between periods of ketosis and carbohydrate consumption) can help improve metabolic flexibility. [08:07] Intermittent Fasting: Achieving Metabolic Flexibility Intermittent fasting helps to shift the body into fat-burning mode. Fasting depletes the body of energy from food and glycogen, allowing it to use stored fat as an energy source. By depleting energy from food and glycogen, intermittent fasting attempts to use stored fat as an energy source. A simple approach for beginners or those new to fasting is to wait a few hours after waking up before eating the day's first meal. Sleeping is a form of fasting because no food is consumed during that time. Extending the fasting period after waking up allows for more fat-burning time. [15:04] How do Fasted Cardio Workouts Enhance Fat Burning Fasted cardio involves working out on an empty stomach, usually without eating before the workout and for about an hour afterwards. Fasted cardio may not be appropriate for everyone, so pay attention to your body's signals and adjust accordingly. With depleted stored glucose (glycogen) and no food energy available during a fast, the body relies on fats for energy during the workout. The energy demand during exercise is significantly increased, prompting the body to draw even more energy from fat stores to meet the increased energy requirements. [18:51] Balancing Sleep and Workouts for Fat Loss Sleep is necessary for metabolic flexibility, hormonal rhythms, and body restoration. For optimal health and weight management, it is critical to maintain good sleep hygiene and prioritize adequate sleep. Morning workouts are appealing because they provide the benefits of endorphin release and fewer distractions. However, if morning workouts interfere with your sleep, consider switching to an afternoon workout or finding alternative times that work best for your schedule. Eating a high-calorie meal before bedtime causes excess calories stored as fat. Avoiding late-night eating allows the body to draw energy from fat stores while sleeping. The body is more likely to use fat as an energy source overnight if there is a gap between eating and sleeping. [23:09] Metabolic Boosters: Protein and B12 Consumption Increased protein consumption can boost metabolism due to the increased work required by the body to digest protein. Although lean protein is preferred, plant-based proteins such as beans and legumes are also beneficial. Protein from natural food sources is more bioavailable than protein supplements, ensuring that the body can use a higher percentage of the protein. The difficulty of breaking down protein signals the body to increase metabolic activity. Adequate B12 levels promote optimal metabolism and health. Prioritizing natural, protein-rich foods and getting enough B12 can improve metabolic function and help you lose weight. [33:17] Focusing on Food-Based Nutrition The desire to obtain nutrients through food stems from the belief that natural nutrients are more bioavailable and safer for the body than synthetic products. Natural nutrients in their natural state contain additional beneficial compounds and a more complete nutrient package than whole foods. While some supplementation may be required, caution should be exercised due to the market's proclivity for over-supplementation. Before beginning any supplementation regimen, individuals should thoroughly read and comprehend product labels. AND MUCH MORE! Daniel advocates for critical reevaluation of health advice based on evolving scientific understanding. [20:45] The Impact of Lifestyle Factors on Arterial Health -       Daniel explains how smoking and specific dietary components like carbohydrates, sugars, and oils can damage the glycocalyx, the protective layer lining artery walls. This damage compromises the glycocalyx's ability to defend against harmful LDL particles, leading to plaque buildup and inflammation. -       He emphasizes the importance of assessing inflammation markers to gauge arterial health accurately. Daniel underlines the need for comprehensive testing to evaluate cardiovascular risk. -       Daniel shares his personal experience of being undiagnosed with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), highlighting the importance of understanding and addressing these conditions. He reveals the elevated GGT (gamma-glutamyl transferase) levels associated with NAFLD, underscoring its significance as a predictor of cardiovascular risk and all-cause mortality. -       Hidden Dangers of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS): Daniel points out the detrimental effects of HFCS on liver health, citing his own experience of unknowingly consuming it in various food products. [29:00] Redefining Cholesterol: Navigating Longevity and Arterial Health -       Daniel challenges the conventional wisdom surrounding cholesterol, highlighting research suggesting that higher cholesterol levels may be associated with longevity. In comparison, lower levels may be linked to increased mortality, particularly from cancer. -       He emphasizes the importance of understanding the nuances of cholesterol, including differentiating between pattern A and pattern B LDL particles. -       He stresses the significance of assessing specific markers, such as small dense LDL particles, to evaluate arterial health accurately. -       Daniel advocates for comprehensive testing, including the NMR LipoProfile, to better understand cardiovascular risk factors. [39:30] Profit over Health: Industry Priorities and Advocating for Informed Healthcare Decisions -       Daniel highlights how industries prioritize profits over human well-being, creating addictive foods and promoting unnecessary medical procedures for financial gain. He underscores the need to recognize these profit-driven motives in shaping health recommendations and decisions. -       Daniel points out the significant financial incentives tied to invasive medical procedures, with the majority performed for non-emergency reasons. -       He suggests that eliminating unnecessary procedures could threaten the livelihoods of certain healthcare professionals and institutions heavily invested in these practices. -       He advocates for individuals to educate themselves about the efficacy of medical interventions, such as invasive procedures, by referencing scientific studies and seeking second opinions from reputable healthcare providers. [44:30] Cardiovascular Testing: Specialized Assessments and Understanding the CAC Paradox -       Daniel highlights the significance of specialized tests, such as the echolucent plaque and coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan, in assessing cardiovascular health. -       He emphasizes the need to go beyond traditional cholesterol tests and consider factors like soft plaque accumulation, which is a significant contributor to heart attacks and strokes. -       He explains the CAC paradox, where individuals may see an increase in their CAC score despite adopting healthier lifestyles. Daniel clarifies that this increase in calcium deposits may indicate a positive response to lifestyle changes, as the body lays down calcium to stabilize arteries affected by soft plaque. -       He advocates for patient education on the nuances of cardiovascular testing, encouraging individuals to seek information from reputable sources like the Cleveland Clinic and the American College of Cardiology. [56:40] Empowering Health through Online Resources -       Daniel expresses gratitude for discovering experts in the health and wellness field who provided valuable insights and information he previously lacked. -       He emphasizes the importance of seeking reputable sources to learn effective healing methods. -       Daniel highlights the power of online platforms, particularly YouTube, in connecting individuals with experts and valuable information. -       He acknowledges the role of digital resources in empowering individuals to take control of their health and well-being. Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr Lee Know. He is a licensed naturopathic doctor and Cannanda's co-founder and Managing Director. This company manufactures Natural Health Products to assist people and animals in living long and happy lives. Dr Lee has always been interested in health and medicine. He thought that, just like others, he would go to a conventional medical school. However, he truly desires to study nutrition, botanical medicine, and all other types of traditional medicine. The problem is that he doesn’t know the path towards it. Moving forward, Dr Lee met a person who introduced him the naturopathic medicine. Since then, he has continued to study the field of medicine he is interested in. Dr Lee Know is also the author of Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine: The Key to Understanding Disease, Chronic Illness, Aging, and Life Itself. This book dives deeper into the scientific understanding of what mitochondria is and how it affects medicine in the future. In this episode, Dr Lee discusses how mitochondria and the ketogenic diet are linked. He also shares tips on how to take care of our mitochondria. Dr. Lee shares his journey in building his company, Cannanda. Aside from that, he talks about what Endocannabinoid System is. Furthermore, Dr Lee tells the difference between THC and CBD and how to ease a dog's anxiety using one of their top-selling products. Tune in as we chat about the mitochondria, ketogenic diet, endocannabinoid system, cannabis, and his company, Cannanda.   Get Cannanda products here (coupon code applied) https://www.cannanda.com/KETOKAMP Order Keto Flex: http://www.ketoflexbook.com -------------------------------------------------------- Download your FREE Vegetable Oil Allergy Card here: https://onlineoffer.lpages.co/vegetable-oil-allergy-card-download/ / / E P I S O D E   S P ON S O R S  ⭐ Bioptimizers Magnesium Breakthrough. Mitochondria is very heavily involved in the ketogenic diet, or the benefits of the ketogenic diet really heavily weigh on the mitochondria. There is a strong link between the benefits of the ketogenic diet and how it improves the functioning of the mitochondria. There are incredible success stories of people with Alzheimer's improving their condition by going on a ketogenic diet. Studies on the ketogenic diet and calorie restriction found that you can reverse type two diabetes.  [18:15] Are Worried About Your Mitochondria? Get Physically Active and Take Care of It! A sedentary lifestyle has a huge negative impact on the mitochondria Being physically active is the greatest thing you can do for your mitochondria. You need to ensure that you feed your body with the nutrients it needs, but not in the way you introduce excessive calories.  The more mitochondria you have, the better everything else works. [27:46] Dr Lee’s Excellent Journey in Building His Company, Cannanda Dr Lee has always been interested in studying the Endocannabinoid system's influence on health. The endocannabinoid system and the mitochondria are both related to homeostasis. Anytime something goes wrong in the body, the endocannabinoid system's job is to jump into action and start the processes needed to bring about healing or bring those processes back towards their balanced state.  Medicinal use of cannabis was legalized in Canada, which allowed him to study more, and grew his interest in this field. Dr Lee realizes the need to create a more accessible and economical business for customers to buy. [33:53] How to Activate Endocannabinoid System to Regulate Our Nervous System? The two main components of the Endocannabinoid System are the cannabinoid compounds that our bodies make and the cannabinoid receptors.  Cannabinoid receptors have two main types that are often talked about, and that is cannabinoid receptor type one or CB1, and cannabinoid receptor type two or CB2. When you use cannabis and THC, that activates the CB1 receptors, and that's what gets people high. CB2 brings a lot of health benefits when activated. The difference in CB1 is that you won’t be intoxicated. The Endocannabinoid system regulates the nervous system by sending inhibitory signals up the chain. [41:05] THC and CBD: What Is Their Difference and How It Affects The Benefits You Could Get? CBD actually doesn't activate CB1 or CB2 receptors. Unlike THC, which can activate both CB1 and CB2 receptors, when you get CB2 activated from using cannabis, it's actually coming from THC. The best type of product is what they call a full spectrum extract because the full spectrum will have the THC, and that's where the CB2 receptor activation and many of the health benefits will actually come from. Dr Lee’s product is a selective CB2 agonist or an activator. And that means it activates CB2 receptors without activating the CB1. Hence, you get all the health or physiological benefits of activating CB2 receptors but none of the intoxications that comes with CB1 activation.  [47:44] Dog Anxiety: How to Safely Use Cannabis to Help Your Dog Every vertebrate mammal has an endocannabinoid system.  Dr Lee has a product called Dog Ease CB2, their top seller on Amazon. Dog Ease CB2 have healthcare approval. People use Dog Ease CB2 for stress-related behavior in dogs, whether it's separation anxiety, thunders, or anything that makes a dog nervous.  Cats also metabolize terpenes at a much slower rate than humans and dogs. The dose given to cats is a fraction of what the dog label says.  AND MUCH MORE!
