Rashid Jahan was an Indian writer and practising medical doctor known for her Urdu literature, feminist stories, plays, and social commentaries. She wrote short stories and plays and contributed to  Angarey, a 1932 collection of unconventional short stories in collaboration with other writers, often seen as the start of the  Progressive Writers Movement. Angarey was subsequently banned from publication and distribution.  'Mard Aur Aurat' is a one-act play by Rashid Jahan; a dialogue between an unnamed couple about the gender hierarchies, economic freedom of women and equal responsibilities of man and woman in child rearing -  topics still hotly debated in the 'modern' times we live in.    @Arti Jain is a storyteller, filmmaker and podcaster who is currently the Digital  Editor at Nayi Dhara - one of the oldest Hindi literary magazines in  India.
