This week Tom & Zeus open Season 8 of Shout It Out Loudcast with a review of the most quintessential KISS compilation, the 1978 "Double Platinum!" This SIOL's 12th compilation review. This was KISS' first compilation and came out in a period where KISS would release 7 albums in two years including 2 double albums, one of which is Double Platinum. This compilation covers songs from 1974 - 1977, containing containing 20 songs from the first 6 KISS studio albums. The album was certified platinum and was produced by the great Sean Delaney. He remixed the songs and made some controversial changes to many of the tracks, including a new disco version of "Strutter" called "Strutter '78" but lovingly called "Disco Strutter" on SIOL. The album cover with its silver color KISS logos and red Double Platinum writing is legendary. When opened there were embossed images of the band members that were fascinating to view. The guys breakdown the track selection and then rank the compilation album and cover versus the previous reviewed compilation albums. A classic album from the classic era of KISS. On the 72nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus welcome back special guest Steve Wright, the podcast host of Podder Than Hell, to review the 1986 polarizing album "Turbo," by Judas Priest. Heavy Metal Gods Judas Priest make their first appearance on the Album Review Crew with their most controversial album. This is Judas Priest with their classic lineup, led by charismatic frontman with his legendary vocals, Rob Halford. The dual guitar attack by Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing is amongst the best in heavy metal. Ian Hill on bass and Dave Holland on drums complete the rhythm section. Turbo made it to #17 on Billboard album charts and eventually went platinum. Their videos for Turbo Lover, Locked In & Parental Guidance were in the MTV rotation . Turbo was a vast departure from what Judas Priest fans were used to and caused quite a stir. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2010 solo album from former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, "BK3." BK3 is Bruce Kulick's 3rd solo album. It features a lot of guests, including, KISS members, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer. It also has appearances from Nick Simmons, Steve Lukather and Doug Fieger and also from Bruce's band Union, drummer Brent Fitz and singer John Corabi. The album was filled with a variety of songs and styles. The songs have different singers including Bruce Kulick. Bruce co-wrote all the songs. This is the 8th album by KISS members outside of KISS that SIOL has reviewed.
