The date was 19th October 2020 the venue was a sweaty boxing gym in Grantham, The Reverend vs The Watkinator the unholy war had been hyped more than Fury vs Wilder, were they really going to trade blows? If you didn’t hear about this then you probably don’t spend anytime on social media, each side had their own promoters, there were promo videos, teasers of training camps and even an official betting partner. Many estate agents were asking what was going on so we thought we would unpack it today.
Today’s guest joins the show for his second appearance, nearly three years to the day from his first time around. He’s an expert in estate agency, as well as both trade and the wider media and we’re here to talk about why the media does its best to scare the world into submission, and how to make sense of the sensational. He is the co founder of the I am property group and MD of the largest auction house in the country with I am Sold. Since launching with his uni friend Ben Ridgeway in 2009, he has grown I am Sold to an industry heavyweight and they now work with over 2,500 branches across the UK. During the week his passion is changing the landscape of auctions to make them more mainstream, at the weekend it is spending time with his family, BBQ roaring with a glass of red in hand.
Todays guest established one of South Manchester and Cheshire's leading estate agencies back in 1990 and grew the brand to 18 branches before being acquired by Connells in 2015. Since then he’s has remained at the helm, further developing the brand and has now grown the company to 22 branches in some of the North West’s most prestigious locations.

We’re joined today by a man who’s chalking up his 11th year in property. He’s had experience in corporate agency, online agency, proptech, independent and franchise and today is consistently selling homes for street and area records in and around the best pockets of Surrey. He’s the head of sales for Century 21 Luxe Residential in Cobham, Shane Bay, welcome to the world class agency podcast.
Ben Moore (The one with the beard) is not your traditional, estate agent. He does it very much his own way with cool glasses and a strong hat game and is having loads of fun producing content for his own agency utilising the self employed model, he is very much the modern day estate agent. He spent his lockdown making social media videos for other agencies to keep himself busy and has recently posted some crazy stats for engagement on Facebook. A  great chat  about what it takes to regularly produce engaging content without losing sight of some of the 'basics' required to be a World Class Estate Agent.
