Podcast production costs, podcast ROI, podcasting for financial professionals, podcast marketing budget, done-for-you podcast production — if you’ve ever wondered whether your podcast is worth the time and money you’re putting into it, this episode will give you clarity. In this solo episode of Podcasting for Financial Professionals, I break down how much financial advisors, CPAs, and service-based professionals should realistically invest in podcast production — and how to evaluate whether that investment is actually paying off in authority, leads, and long-term growth.  Ready to see exactly what a serious, ROI-focused podcast looks like for your firm? Just answer these 3 questions. You'll receive an email from me with custom instructions. Podcast Production Strategies That Actually Grow Your Financial Firm  Most financial professionals understand investment vs. return — but when it comes to podcasting, many are flying blind. In this episode, I walk you through how to think about your podcast like a true business asset, not a hobby, and how to decide when it makes sense to keep things DIY versus when it’s time to outsource for leverage and growth.  In this episode, you’ll learn:  How podcast spending correlates with audience growth and visibility  What “reasonable” production investment looks like at different stages of business  Why production quality, consistency, and repurposing impact ROI more than downloads alone      From DIY to Done-For-You: Smart Investments for Financial Podcasts  (00:01:58) Podcast Spending vs. Growth  (00:02:30) Hobby Podcast vs. Business Asset  (00:03:10) What Production Actually Costs  (00:05:45) When DIY Stops Working  (00:07:03) Authority as ROI  (00:07:45) Top-of-Funnel Strategy  (00:08:43) Mid-Funnel Strategy    Turning Your Podcast into a Business Asset That Attracts More Clients and Referrals  If you want your podcast to support your business — not drain it — start here:  Audit Your Current Investment  Look at what you’re spending in time and money. If you’re investing hours every week but still inconsistent or invisible, that’s a cost too.  Define ROI Beyond Downloads  For financial professionals, ROI looks like:  Shorter sales cycles  Better-qualified leads  Increased authority and trust  Content that supports client education and retention  Benchmark Your Spend  Many small businesses spend up to 10% of revenue on marketing. Podcasting is part of that ecosystem — not a separate experiment. As revenue grows, the percentage may shrink, but the strategy should sharpen.  Decide What to Outsource First  Editing, show notes, publishing, and repurposing are often the biggest leverage points. You don’t need to outsource everything — just the things slowing you down or holding you back.  Build Sustainability, Not Hustle  Your podcast should give you breathing room — not force you into late nights, skipped vacations, or burnout. Strategic production creates consistency without grind.    Why Your Podcast Production Budget Matters More Than You Think  The data is clear: podcasters who invest — either with time, money, or both — are far less likely to stay stuck with low visibility and minimal impact. As a financial professional, your podcast isn’t just content. It’s a trust-building engine, a client education tool, and a long-term authority play.  If you’re unsure whether your messaging, structure, or production is supporting that goal, start with clarity first.  Ready to attract more listeners?  Download my free Attraction Messaging Blueprint—it’ll help you nail intros, outros, and trailers so every episode speaks right to what your audience is searching for (and desperate to hear).  Free Download: https://podcastabundance.com/attraction-messaging-blueprint/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Edit them into blog-style posts with headings, bullets, quotes, and one clear call-to-action.  Audit Your Website Messaging  Make sure your homepage and service pages clearly state who you help, what problem you solve, and what to do next.  Use Podcast Guesting Strategically  Guesting earns high-quality backlinks and fast authority. Make sure every appearance links back to your site.  Create Content That Answers Real Questions  Publish FAQs, client scenarios, and case studies—these perform better for both SEO and AI search than surface-level content.  Think Long-Term, Not Viral  One strong post per month that actually helps your audience will outperform constant “busy” content.  Backlinks, Meta Descriptions, and AI: Must-Know SEO Tactics  SEO doesn’t have to feel secretive, technical, or overwhelming. When your podcast, website, and messaging are aligned, your content compounds—bringing visibility, trust, and qualified leads over time.  This episode is a reminder that podcasting is only half the equation. What you do after you hit publish—how you format, position, and repurpose your content—is what determines whether your show quietly exists or actively grows your business.  And if you want help dialing in the messaging that ties all of this together, don’t forget to download my free workbook, The Attraction Messaging Blueprint, to craft podcast intros, outros, and content that actually convert.  Follow Barb Davids:   https://compassdigitalstrategies.com/  https://www.linkedin.com/in/barb-davids/  https://www.youtube.com/@compassdigitalstrategies  Ready to attract more listeners?  Download my free Attraction Messaging Blueprint—it’ll help you nail intros, outros, and trailers so every episode speaks right to what your audience is searching for (and desperate to hear).  Free Download: https://podcastabundance.com/attraction-messaging-blueprint/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Podcasting for financial professionals, trust-based marketing, service-first podcasting, financial literacy, and authority building are at the center of this episode of Podcasting for Financial Professionals. I sit down with Stoy Hall, CFP®, CEO and Founder of Black Mammoth and host of the No BS Wealth podcast, to unpack how podcasting can be used as a tool for education, relationship-building, and real impact—especially when serving underrepresented communities—without turning your show into a sales pitch machine.  Podcasting for Advisors Building Influence, Not Just Downloads  If you’ve ever felt pressure to make your podcast “convert” faster, louder, or more aggressively, this episode offers a powerful reframe. Stoy shares how he intentionally built No BS Wealth as a service-driven platform—designed to educate, build trust, and meet people at their real financial pain points—while allowing business growth to happen naturally.  Want to leap ahead by applying the principles in this episode to your situation with custom guidance? Just answer these 3 questions. You'll receive an email with personalized recommendations based on your answers.    In this conversation, you’ll hear how podcasting can:  Build authority without sacrificing authenticity  Create long-term trust in communities historically underserved by financial services  Support your advisory practice without becoming a direct sales funnel  Position you as a credible educator first and a business owner second  This episode is especially valuable if you work with minority, women-owned, or LGBTQIA businesses—or if you want your content to stand for something deeper than lead generation alone.  The Long-Game Podcast Strategy for Financial Professionals  (00:04:41) From Single Parent Income to Becoming a Wealth Manager  (00:11:25) Balancing Values vs Chasing Bigger AUM Clients  (00:14:08) Breaking Barriers in the Community Through Trust and Education  (00:21:55) Organically Building Relationships with a Collective  (00:27:44) A Sports Podcast as an Experiment in Podcasting   (00:34:27) Using AI Tools for Better Communication  (00:36:02) Podcast Guest Management Tips  (00:39:36) First-Hand experience: Podcast Editing and Guesting Advice   (00:41:48) Getting Clients by Meeting People Where They Are    Podcasting as a Relationship-Building Tool for Financial Advisors  If you’re considering launching a podcast—or rethinking how your current show supports your business—start here:  Design Your Podcast Around Service, Not Sales  Shift your mindset from “How do I convert listeners?” to “How do I genuinely help them?” Trust accelerates when education and empathy lead the conversation.  Create Depth Through Collaboration, Not Random Guests  Consider a vetted circle or collective of professionals you trust. Repeated voices allow for deeper conversations, richer storytelling, and stronger credibility.  Let Authenticity Replace Perfection  Leave the polished scripts behind. Honest dialogue, lived experience, and real stories connect far more than flawless delivery.  Batch Content to Support Sustainability  Record in seasons or batches so your podcast supports your life—not the other way around. Consistency should feel sustainable, not exhausting.  Meet Your Audience Where They Already Are  Distribute your podcast across platforms your audience actually uses—audio, video, social clips, and email—so your message travels farther without more effort.  How Service-First Podcasting Builds Trust in Financial Services  Stoy Hall’s approach is a reminder that podcasting in financial services doesn’t have to follow a rigid, transactional formula. When your show is rooted in service, community, and honest conversation, trust becomes your greatest asset—and business growth becomes a natural byproduct, not the sole objective.  If you’re ready to design a podcast that reflects your values, supports your clients, and builds authority without compromising authenticity, this episode will expand what you believe is possible behind the mic.    Follow Stoy Hall:   https://www.blackmammoth.com/  https://www.linkedin.com/in/stoyhall/  https://nobswealth.com/  Ready to attract more listeners?  Download my free Attraction Messaging Blueprint—it’ll help you nail intros, outros, and trailers so every episode speaks right to what your audience is searching for (and desperate to hear).  Free Download: https://podcastabundance.com/attraction-messaging-blueprint/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Video podcasting, financial professionals, podcast growth strategy, podcast discoverability, video marketing for advisors. Only 25% of podcasters are using video, yet those shows consistently grow faster, build trust sooner, and create stronger audience connection. This episode breaks down why video matters now, how financial professionals can adopt it without overwhelm, and what the data tells us about visibility, authority, and sustainable growth.  If you’ve been unsure whether video is worth the time, cost, or learning curve, this conversation will help you decide how to use video strategically — without turning your podcast into a second full-time job.    Why Video Accelerates Trust, Visibility, and Authority  Video isn’t about chasing algorithms — it’s about human connection. For financial professionals, seeing your expressions, confidence, and credibility builds trust long before someone ever books a call.  In this episode, I walk through:  Why platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram actively reward video  How video shortens the “trust runway” for service-based businesses  Why adding video doesn’t require studio lighting or a production team  You’ll also hear real examples of how video podcasting has helped financial and insurance professionals attract conversations offline — in offices, gyms, and everyday life.    How Video Multiplies Podcast Discoverability  Adding video doesn’t just create another format — it creates multiple entry points for your content. One episode becomes many ways for the right listener to find you.  Find out:  How YouTube, Google, and social platforms scan video titles, captions, and transcripts  Why short-form video dramatically expands reach beyond your existing audience  How repurposing video clips fuels email, social, and website traffic  You’ll hear how shows like The Vital Strategies Podcast and Insurance Agency Success use video clips to drive discovery from external sources like email, social media, and websites — not just podcast apps.    Low-Lift Ways to Add Video Without Overwhelm  If the idea of being on camera makes you cringe, this episode gives you permission to start small.  I cover three beginner-friendly approaches:  Recording remote interviews with high-quality audio and video  Using audiograms or motion graphics instead of full on-camera clips  Creating short, video-only touchpoints between podcast episodes  These options allow you to build visibility and trust without changing how you already record.    The Real Power of Video: Repurposing  Once video exists, your content starts working harder for you.  One episode can become:  A full YouTube video  Multiple short-form clips for LinkedIn and Instagram  Website content pulled from show notes  Emails that educate and nurture your list  I also share how my team at Podcast Abundance supports financial professionals with done-for-you podcast production and strategic social media repurposing — so your content actually stops the scroll instead of announcing, “New episode out today.”    Key Moments to Listen For  (00:02:18) Why video builds trust faster   (00:03:05) YouTube shorts driving discovery   (00:04:06) How repurposing affects reach  (00:05:07) Discoverability from external sources   (00:06:24) 3 Low-lift ways to incorporate video into your workflow   (00:08:20) Endless repurposing ideas once you record video  (00:09:04) Done-for-you videos for social media    Action Steps for Financial Professionals  If you want your podcast to grow without adding chaos to your calendar, start here:  Add video strategically, not perfectly — clips on social mesia count!  Design your workflow first, then choose tools  Repurpose intentionally so one recording fuels multiple platforms  Focus on trust, not trends — your face matters  For help tightening your messaging before adding video, download my free workbook, The Attraction Messaging Blueprint. It walks you through intros, outros, and trailers that pull listeners in and keep them engaged.    Resources mentioned in this episode:   2025 Independent Podcaster Report by Alitu
Podcasting for financial professionals, business growth, content strategy, and consistency don’t require hours of work to create momentum. In this episode, I sit down with TEDx speaker and Happy Healthy Hustle podcast host Dr. Christiane Schroeter to unpack her Petite Practice Framework—a method built on small, strategic actions that create sustainable growth without overwhelm.  “I listen to what people ask me, and I have a binder next to me during client conversations where I write down the frequently asked questions and then make a podcast episode out of it.” - Dr. Christiane Schroeter  If you’ve ever felt stuck, behind, or unsure how to move your podcast or marketing forward without burning yourself out, this conversation will reframe how you think about consistency, funnels, and authority-building.    Why Small Actions Matter More Than Big Plans  Most high-achieving professionals don’t struggle with ideas—they struggle with execution that fits real life. Christiane shares how just 1–5 minutes of focused action can compound into meaningful business growth, especially for financial professionals balancing clients, compliance, and content creation.  You’ll hear how to:  Build momentum without perfection  Create content that actually connects with listeners  Turn podcast conversations into leads and long-term relationships  This episode gives you permission to start small—and stay strategic.    Podcast Growth & Funnel Strategy in Action  (00:02:16) Academic to Entrepreneur  (00:07:21) Petite Practice Explained  (00:09:10) Repurposing to Launch  (00:13:33) Funnel Integration  (00:17:04) Custom Coaching Approach  (00:21:45) Turning Listeners into Leads  (00:26:13) Ignoring Vanity Metrics  (00:37:01) Consistency Without Burnout    Action Steps to Strengthen Client Attraction via Your Content  If you want your podcast (or content idea) to support your business instead of draining it, start here:  Shrink the Commitment: Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Commit to short, repeatable actions that fit into your real schedule.  Build One Clear Funnel: Every episode should guide listeners toward one next step—an email list, resource, or conversation.  Create from Real Questions: Let client questions and conversations dictate your episode topics. Relevance beats creativity.  Measure Impact, Not Downloads: Focus on engagement, replies, and client conversations—not rankings or vanity metrics.  Design for Sustainability: Consistency should feel doable. If it doesn’t, your system—not your discipline—is the problem.  Designing a Podcast That Supports Your Business  This conversation is a reminder that growth doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from doing the right things consistently. Interview those who’ve succeeded in your field and get expert coaching from day one.  Prioritize character when hiring: Build your team around integrity and passion, rather than just financial expertise; you can always teach the technical parts.  Delegate and focus on your strengths: Make your calendar reflect what you do best and enjoy most—delegate everything else to unlock exponential growth.  Lead with storytelling: Share your real-life financial wins and losses. Use your story (via podcast or book) as your marketing card; transparency builds trust.  Consider writing a book: A book clarifies your core values, attracts ideal clients, and doubles as a legacy tool for future generations.  Teach money skills to younger generations: Pay it forward through teaching, mentoring, or nonprofit work—you’ll enrich your brand and community impact.  Grow through genuine client relationships: Start with outstanding service and connection—your happiest clients will naturally refer others.  Creating a financial business and brand that stands out starts with relationships, purpose, and sharing your story. Take a cue from Dr. Nicholas Michels: begin with mentorship, build a strong values-driven team, tell your unique story, and always look for ways to pay it forward. Are ads and sponsors actually helping? Or just distracting listeners from your business?   Your goal in having a podcast is to build trust, elevate YOUR brand, and generate qualified leads for your business. So, why try to monetize with others’ offers for pennies when running mattress ads only distracts your audience from your core message, values, and purpose?  Many business owners think podcast sponsors are the key to making money, but that’s a myth. The real value comes from using your podcast to build authority, nurture trust, and guide your ideal listeners straight into your world.   Forget chasing ads—focus on crafting content that turns listeners into warm leads and loyal clients. Your expertise is the asset, not ad space. If you’re ready to transform your podcast into a lead-generating machine, this episode will help you start thinking like a CEO and make every episode work for your business.  Why Sponsorships Are Overrated for Financial Podcasts and What Actually Generates Client Leads  Setting your podcast up for sustainable monetization isn’t about the sponsor hunt—it’s about smart strategy, clear messaging, and building deeper relationships with the right listeners. Here’s what you should know:  Your Audience Is Too Valuable for Pennies Selling ad space to sponsors means sacrificing the depth of connection you’ve built. Advertisers pay by volume, not by trust, which means niche audiences like yours get undervalued. Sponsorships Distract—Not Convert Ads break up your message and send listeners in too many directions. When your call to action competes with a sponsor’s product, you lose focus. Listen in for a case study where 98% of revenue came from their signature course—not “perfect-fit” sponsors. Your Podcast Is a Relationship Engine You’re not running an entertainment show. You’re building authority, expanding reach, and nurturing leads—all without needing millions of downloads or influencer status. The Smarter Path to Monetize Your Podcast for Financial Professionals   So, What’s the Smarter Monetization Path?  Here are three ways you can actually make money with your podcast:  Referrals: Listeners confidently recommend you because they know your expertise and values from your episodes.  Intentional Email List Growth: Offer helpful downloads (think calculators, checklists, mini-trainings) as lead magnets so you can nurture contacts—no algorithms required.  Selling Financial Services: Your episodes build trust and shorten your sales cycle. By the time listeners get in touch, they’re already primed to work with you.  Sponsorship Isn’t the Golden Ticket—Here’s What Truly Makes Podcasts Profitable  You don’t need to sound salesy to create traction. A simple, clear call to action—like “Grab my free guide” or “Book a call if you want help applying this”—goes a long way when your value is front and center.  Ready to Upgrade Your Podcast Strategy? Stop thinking like a content creator chasing ad dollars. Start treating your show as the business asset it is. Your authority, visibility, and client pipeline will thank you.  Shows & Financial Professionals mentioned in this episode:   Money Skills for Therapists: https://moneynutsandbolts.com/podcast/  Smart College Buyer:  https://www.youtube.com/@smartcollegebuyer  Ready to attract more listeners?  Download my free Attraction Messaging Blueprint—it’ll help you nail intros, outros, and trailers so every episode speaks right to what your audience is searching for (and desperate to hear).  Free Download: https://podcastabundance.com/attraction-messaging-blueprint/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! We covered how to build trust, why clear communication is key in a crisis, and how niching down your podcast can attract the right clients. If you're ready to elevate your authority and protect your business, you’ll want to hear this.  Behind the Scenes: Branding, Podcast Production, and Crisis Messaging for Financial Advisors  Ever wondered how you can proactively protect your business reputation AND strengthen client trust? We went deep into practical crisis planning, standing out in a saturated market, and how podcasting can nurture communities and authority.  Takeaways for Financial Professionals & Podcasters:  Build simple, repeatable crisis response frameworks—don’t let your plan gather dust.  Keep your messaging genuine and ready: “The real mistake is responding too slowly, or saying nothing.”  Use industry headlines as an opportunity for transparent conversations with your audience.  Don’t underestimate the power of a niche podcast and authentic, behind-the-scenes content.  Lean on your team’s strengths—especially your next-gen employees—to stay agile as marketing channels evolve.    Wondering how you can apply Mike's excellent advice to your brand? Just answer these 3 questions to receive custom guidance in your inbox.    Growing Your Financial Practice: Podcasting Strategies and Crisis Communication Best Practices  (00:03:33) A Simplicity Strategy to Handle Impending Crisis  (00:09:10) Protecting Trust and Accountability in Business  (00:13:02) Reputation Impact in Competitive Markets  (00:14:30) Opportunistic Marketing Through Competitor Crises  (00:22:40) Podcasting for Niche Audience Growth  (00:28:35) Leveraging LinkedIn for Marketing  (00:34:40) Growing Community Through In-Person Events  (00:37:06) Creating a Concept the Public is Excited to Get Behind  (00:46:34) Why You’ll Attract Unexpected Listeners Outside Your Niche  Crisis Trak for Financial Firms: Essential Planning Advice from PR Veteran Mike Swenson  Crisis, especially in finance, isn’t always caused by you. A partner’s scandal or a client’s negative publicity by association can affect your reputation. Mike Swenson provided some real-world examples, underscoring that the damage often comes not from the event, but from mishandling the response.  "If something happens to a financial advising company or someone in our space, that also happens to us because now customers are reading or hearing about that, seeing it on social media platforms. And so naturally, as a customer, I'm going to go, well, I know that's company A over here and I'm with company B, but it plants a slight seed of doubt. Could that happen to my advisor?" - Mike Swenson  If your communication is slow or tone-deaf, you'll lose trust, which hits your bottom line more than the crisis itself. That's why proactive outreach, especially when competitors stumble, can be a powerful brand-building moment. No one is immune, but everyone can choose how they respond.  Follow Mike Swenson:  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikeswenson1/  Company: https://crisistrak.com/  Podcast: https://www.kcmarketinglegends.com/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! What if your podcast wasn’t meant to bring clients into your advisory firm at all?  This episode explores a different, highly intentional approach—using podcasting as a standalone business asset that builds credibility, supports compliance, and creates diversified income outside your firm.  Meet Shari Rash, host of Everyone’s Talkin’ Money, and listen to us unpack a very different podcast strategy. Her podcast is not designed to attract advisory clients. Instead, it operates as an Outside Business Activity (OBA)—a separate brand that generates income through sponsorships, book sales, and speaking engagements.  Shari launched her show during the early days of the pandemic after purchasing a client list and needing a scalable way to stay connected. What started as private client communication evolved into a public platform—one that allowed her to establish credibility as a money expert without crossing compliance lines tied to her advisory firm.  “I’m not trying to give financial advice. I’m trying to cut through the junk and help people understand why they’re stuck.” — Shari Rash  This episode is especially valuable if you’ve ever wondered whether podcasting has to be about lead generation—or if there’s another, equally strategic path available.  Diversifying Income as a Financial Advisor: Creating an OBA, Navigating Compliance, & Attracting Sponsors  (00:05:50) Taking Your Financial Advisory Practice Online  (00:09:38) Your Show’s Natural Evolution from Attractor to Nurturer  (00:11:28) Reevaluating Your Podcast’s Purpose  (00:15:29) Engineering Trust-Building Content  (00:20:41) Finding Forward-Thinking Mentors in Financial Services  (00:25:56) Structuring Content to Guide, Not Advise  (00:30:44) Solo versus Guest Interview Frequency  (00:32:22) The Early Struggles of Recording Solo Episodes  (00:37:10) Maintaining Efficiency with Podcasting through Repurposing Content  A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Podcasting as an Outside Business Activity  A Podcast Can Be a Business Asset—Not Just Marketing Shari’s podcast began as a way to communicate with clients but evolved into a separate income stream. If you’re creative and strategic, your show can serve purposes beyond lead generation. Clear Separation Reduces Compliance Friction By keeping her podcast and advisory firm completely separate—no cross-selling, no financial product promotion—Shari protects trust and avoids regulatory headaches. Structuring a Podcast as an OBA Shari’s approach includes: A separate LLC for the podcast  No advisory services promoted on the show  Content focused on behavior, mindset, and real-life money conversations  Monetization Without Client Confusion Instead of advisory leads, Shari monetizes through aligned lifestyle sponsors, book sales, and speaking—opening doors many advisors never consider. The Reality of High-Output Podcasting Shari produces three episodes per week, largely solo. It’s not for everyone—but her transparency around efficiency, batching, and audience feedback is eye-opening. A Smart Way To Use Podcasting in a Regulated Industry  Podcasting doesn’t have to fit into one box. If you’re intentional about structure, messaging, and compliance, your show can become a creative outlet, a credibility engine, and a legitimate revenue stream—without ever acting as a client funnel.  If you’ve felt boxed in by the “your podcast must generate leads” narrative, this episode will expand what you believe is possible.  Follow Shari Rash:  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shari-rash/  Company: https://www.gwawealth.com/  Podcast: https://www.everyonestalkinmoneypodcast.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/everyonestalkinmoney/  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Tired of seeing the same listener numbers in your host account? Wondering how to get NEW listeners to tune in?   Most podcast hosts think people discover shows through search, but only 19% do. The truth is, your titles and content need to tap straight into what your audience is worried about—not jargon or textbook answers, but real-life problems and curiosity, especially when it comes to financial content.   "Financial professionals can't rely on algorithmic discovery the way that entertainment podcasters do. Think about it. Most people are not typing in something like ‘Fiduciary Advisor near me’ or ‘how to optimize my tax strategy’ into Spotify. They're searching for what hurts." - Virginia Elder    Get Noticed & Attract New Clients Using Discovery Strategies That Work  Focus on catchy, emotional titles, use the language your listeners use, and share your message in short, attention-grabbing videos. And remember, visibility is about being found by the right people, not getting lost chasing vanity metrics. If you want to be discovered, it all starts with strategy.  After working with hundreds of finance professionals, I can tell you: if you’re counting on algorithms to do the heavy lifting, you’re missing out on your best prospects.    The Podcast SEO Blueprint Every Financial Advisor Needs  Speak How They Search (Not How You Think): People aren’t typing “Fiduciary Advisor Near Me” into Spotify—they’re searching for solutions to real, everyday problems, like “how to handle pop-up expenses” or “how to manage financial stress.” Make sure your episode titles and hooks mirror these pain points and everyday language. Get Specific, Get Noticed: Broad topics blend into the background. Instead, get hyper-relevant! Look at Joe Curry’s podcast: When he pivoted from general retirement topics to “Retirement for Canadians Only” and zeroed in on issues like brain health or prepaying for a funeral, his engagement skyrocketed. Master Emotionally-Compelling Titles: A great title works like a movie trailer. Try “How to retire without fear when your financial plan falls apart,” or “Why most families never reach financial freedom.” Give listeners the instant “that’s me!” moment. Optimize for Search—Podcast SEO Matters: Use phrases your listeners would type, not just industry jargon. Instead of “Understanding Indexed Universal Life Insurance,” consider “Is life insurance a smart investment or a trap?” This is the language people use in YouTube or Google—and your show will start popping up exactly where you want it. Don’t Sleep on Video: Text is out, video is in. Just a quick clip repurposed from your episode (no Hollywood production needed!) increases reach and authority more than ever.   Podcast Discovery for Financial Pros: How to Get Found When Algorithms Don’t Work  Rather than crossing your fingers for your content to be found – EVEN IF you and I know it’s great – and relying on hope, the algorithm, and asking folks to share it, it’s time to take matters into your own hands. By structuring your content based on thoughts (especially the fearful ones) your ideal client already has and titling your episodes using language THEY use, you’re teaching the algorithm to work for you.   Here’s 5 simple steps to execute this beautifully:  Start with your listener’s thought pattern, not your service offering.  Create emotionally compelling, curiosity-driven titles.  Use podcast SEO in your descriptions/show notes—write the way listeners speak.  Add video, even short-form, for expanded reach and connection.  Repeat consistently—it’s a long game, but it works.    Discovery is a long game, but it’s about being found by the right people—the ones already primed for your message and ready for your help.    Shows & Financial Professionals mentioned in this episode:   Your Retirement Planning Simplified by Joe Curry Social Impact Level Up by Wendie Veloz Loan with Jen by Jennifer Hernandez   Ready to attract more listeners?  Download my free Attraction Messaging Blueprint—it’ll help you nail intros, outros, and trailers so every episode speaks right to what your audience is searching for (and desperate to hear).    This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! AI is everywhere and if you’re not currently exploring how to integrate it in your business, you’re panicking about where to start. This episode helps explain how AI can amplify your voice while keeping your client data safe, and how you can turn your podcast content into real business results.   Leveraging AI for Storytelling and Compliance in Financial Podcasting  Mike Montague of Avenue 9, host of the Human-First AI Marketing podcast, joined me to dig into the power of storytelling, share behind-the-scenes tools for engaging new leads, and streamline your content creation with AI. If you're ready to build trust faster, boost your authority, and use smart AI tools to help you reach your goals more easily (Write your book? Launch a podcast?) while remaining in compliance, you won't want to miss all of his AI tips!  Here’s a BIG one:  “Don't put any actual numbers, financial information, or client details into any AI system [without first anonymizing it]. Whether it says it's private and secure or not, they all seem to be leaking and training models with them and they are not secure in the way that we would talk about banking secure." - Mike Montague  Turning Listener Trust into Leads: Smart AI and Podcast Marketing for Advisors  (00:08:05) Crafting Personalized Buyer Narratives  (00:10:49) Personalized Financial Planning with AI  (00:14:40) Refining AI for Personalized Prompts  (00:26:13) Marketing Strategy and Format Decisions  (00:31:35) Create Content Your Own Way  (00:37:15) Building a Book Through Curation  (00:41:04) Using AI Like Iron Man Rather Than Terminator  (00:43:55) Interviewing Strategic Guests for Business Growth  (00:48:50) Using Quizzes as a Lead Magnet  (00:49:44) Start Conversations from Your Posts Likes    How Financial Advisors Can Amplify Their Podcast Reach with Smart AI Tools  Respect Client Privacy with AI: Never put real client data into AI tools. Instead, use anonymized scenarios and lean into “You might be…” storytelling to create relatable, compliant case studies that build trust—without making compliance nervous.  Efficiency Through Custom AI Set-Up: Set up custom instructions or even a custom GPT to capture your voice, expertise, and style. Upload your website, LinkedIn profile, or outlines once—and let AI produce content in your voice, saving massive time on podcast summaries, LinkedIn posts, and more.  Podcast Content = Lead Generator: Use your episodes and clips on social media, then take an extra step—respond directly to every comment and message on LinkedIn. Or drive listeners to an engaging quiz or toolkit (like our Conference Toolkit for lead follow-up!) to nurture relationships beyond the mic.  Curious how to get started? Pay for the right tools, build your “human-first” strategy, and let your podcast amplify your authority—while AI (and a solid production team 😉) takes care of the heavy lifting.    Follow Mike Montague:  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikedmontague/  Company: https://avenue9.com/  Podcast: https://podcast.avenue9.com/2435068/        This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Podcasting for Financial Professionals isn’t just another show about microphones and editing software. This show is your strategic podcasting resource, made specifically for financial advisors, planners, and professionals who want to use podcasting as a powerful business tool.   Following this podcast means you’ll hear weekly episodes unpacking strategic video and audio podcast moves that work, sometimes through interviews with other financial professionals or successful business owners – all through the lens of how hosting their own podcast helped their business grow. Some episodes will be directly from me as your podcast strategist.    This video podcast sets the stage for you to leverage podcasting as a powerful marketing tool in your business. I’m here, practicing what I preach and “in the arena” alongside you, offering guidance, support, and actionable insights to make your podcasting journey effective, manageable, and a little fun.    What to Expect from the Podcasting for Financial Professionals Show  As you tune in to learn about podcasting and improve your approach to online marketing, you’ll find strategic, no-fluff, actionable advice you can implement right away in each episode.  Plus, you’ll hear from financial professionals who have successfully integrated podcasting into their business. - giving you the opportunity to learn about mistakes they made, what’s working well, and what they’d do if they were starting a podcast from scratch today.  Through it all, you'll gain insight about podcast SEO, content repurposing, messaging and branding guidance, and time-saving systems for your podcast audio and video production, plus tips on guesting and growth. Use your time most wisely by using the free downloads, equipment recommendations, and step-by-step guides at podcastabundance.com/resources.    The Podcast Abundance Approach: Values and Support  My team at Podcast Abundance is built on five core values:  Simplicity: We streamline the process so you can focus on your expertise.  Responsibility: We handle the technical and production details for you.  Trustworthiness: We ensure your content and reputation are in safe hands.  Lifelong Learning: We stay ahead of trends and best practices.  Over-Communication: We keep you informed and supported at every step.    Podcasting is more than a marketing tactic—it’s a business asset that works for you around the clock. For financial professionals, it’s a way to build trust, authority, and a steady stream of leads, all while sharing your expertise in a format that resonates.     Studies show that most podcasters feel like they don’t have a solid strategy, which is bad news from a business perspective – especially since you expect to build your business through podcasting as a marketing arm. Rather than fall into that trap, consider partnering with a specialized strategist (oh, me! 👋 ) and reliable production team (yep, go that too! ✅). This allows you to focus on your business’s growth through rich content, not editing and publishing.    Follow this podcast on your favorite audio platform: https://pod.link/1478414077  Subscribe to this show on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@PodcastingForFinancialPros  Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/virginiaelder/  Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/podcastabundance/  Explore free stuff, tips, and my services at https://podcastabundance.com

Are you a financial professional who feels like compliance is building walls between you and your dream podcast? You’re not alone — but you’re also not stuck.  Compliance guidelines exist to protect consumers—especially in regulated industries like financial advice, accounting, or tax services. Yet, it’s incredibly common for compliance officers, especially those new to podcasting, to approach this format with suspicion. If you happen to be in a firm where you’re the first to host a podcast, expect extra scrutiny—not because you’re breaking rules, but simply because compliance needs education on the medium itself.    Compliance Tips for Financial Podcast Hosts: Education, Storytelling, and Staying True to Your Brand  Instead of asking, “Can we do this?” shift to “How can we do this?” That subtle change unlocks possibility, transforming compliance from a creativity-killer to a guide for delivering value within the rules.  Compliance is Structure, Not a Roadblock: Most compliance reviews are straightforward — in years of submitting podcasts, I’ve never had an episode outright denied. With a collaborative approach, edits are rarely extensive.  You Can Create Engaging, Compliant Content: Educational episodes, mindset conversations, anonymized client stories, behind-the-scenes insights, and value-driven narratives all help you stand out while staying compliant.  Authenticity Doesn’t Require Oversharing: Using analogies and relatable stories from everyday life (without revealing private details) allows you to be genuine and approachable — which is exactly what listeners want.    From Compliance Fears to Podcasting Success: Proven Strategies for Financial Experts  In this episode, I share several ideas for compliance-approved episode topics, including educational content, mindset, safe storytelling, and behind-the-scenes episodes. Plus, potential clients would love to hear about your values and how they influence the unique ways you run your business!    (00:06:08) Approaching Compliance with a Collaborative Mindset  (00:08:45) Brainstorming Compliant Content   (00:12:24) Educational Episodes and Storytelling to Establish Trust  (00:15:29) Being Relatable without Revealing Personal Details  (00:18:34) Example Topics for Authenticity and Authority  (00:21:33) Podcast Recording & Scheduling with Compliance in the Mix  (00:24:59) Compliance is Not Your Enemy    Behind the Scenes of Compliant Podcast Production for Financial Professionals: Process, Pitfalls, and Possibilities  If your firm requires pre-approval for every episode, flexibility is key. I recommend batching: record several episodes monthly to build a buffer. This allows you to stay ahead—even if compliance reviews push back a release. And remember, in six years of podcast production, full episode rejections are virtually nonexistent; minor tweaks are the norm.  Tune in to learn how we keep the lines of communication open with compliance from day one, and the process becomes routine rather than a roadblock.    This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Ready to break out of the compliance trap and finally get your content and podcast working FOR your financial business?   Tired of thinking in circles about the type of client you want to attract to your practice?  If you’ve been wanting to host your own podcast, but feel held back by compliance fears or wondering how to attract QUALIFIED leads, listen in to hear how Jeff has done it with multiple shows for different niches of clients he serves.   Jeff Kikel, host of the Freedom Nation Podcast (plus a few others), and owner of Freedom Day Wealth Management, joins me this week to reveal his proven strategies for creating content that builds long-term trust—even if compliance feels intimidating. We busted the myth that compliance has to hold you back, revealed the power of hyper-niching and community-building on LinkedIn, and talked practical ways to streamline your production so your focus stays on client relationships and creating value-driven content.  "For 2,000 episodes, I got up every morning, I recorded a podcast, and I posted that podcast online until I got to 2,000 shows. And I was successful in that process." - Jeff Kikel  Podcasting (or even writing a book) might not deliver clients overnight. But it’s powerful social proof that builds deep trust. Prospects will research you—and if your name turns up with real, valuable content? That’s what sets you apart.    Unlocking Podcast Success for Financial Services: Niching, AI, and Outsourcing Production  (00:08:37) Navigating Pushback from Compliance and Gathering Social Proof  (00:11:36) Focus on One Big Goal for a Year  (00:13:57) Copy This Streamlined Content Creation Process  (00:20:41) Marketing Tips for Financial Advisors  (00:23:32) How to Teach AI to Mimics Your Writing Style  (00:29:51) Live Radio Risk vs Having an Edited Podcast  (00:34:42) Building Niche Podcast Audiences  (00:37:39) Using Your Podcast for Leads & Growing Your Business  (00:40:59) Strategies for Creating Business Retirement & Tax Content      The Financial Advisor’s Behind-the-Scenes Blueprint to a Powerful Podcast Presence  Podcasting is more than just an audio trend for today’s financial professionals—it’s a foundational tool for trust, authority, and client acquisition. The long game matters most. Expect it to take 70+ episodes (or 1-2 years) before you really see traction. But if you stick with it, batch strategically, and lean on your support team, you’ll find your audience and authority snowball—just as Jeff Kikel has. For any financial pro ready to get serious with podcasting, these are the lessons—and the roadmap—to follow.  Why compliance shouldn’t be the end of your podcast dreams. Jeff gets real about the myths that hold most advisors back and shares exactly how he shifted from broker-dealer world to independent RIA for simpler, sane compliance. (Hint: An independent compliance firm costs a fraction of what you think!)  How to get started – without overwhelm. The secret isn't doing everything—it's picking ONE content format (blog, podcast, YouTube) and doing it consistently for a year. Jeff’s own story is proof that reps, not perfection, build authority (even if episode #1, 20, or 50 all feel like no one’s listening yet).  Leveraging AI, team, and systems for content you actually enjoy creating. Stop trying to be the editor, producer, and marketer. Outsource what you can and keep your genius focused on client work and authentic storytelling. (You’ll hear how Jeff uses ChatGPT and other tools to accelerate content AND keep it true to his voice.)  Hyper-niching and LinkedIn strategies to build an audience that’s ready for your services. Jeff’s approach to LinkedIn is all about building a tribe of right-fit prospects, without wasting hours scrolling or spamming.  Turning content into trust, not just leads. Your podcast or book isn’t just a lead magnet— it’s “social online proof” for the client who Googles you. Jeff gets clients FROM content, but never directly—because it’s their way to know him before trust (and assets) are transferred.    Follow Jeff Kikel:   Freedom Day Wealth Management: https://www.freedomdaywealth.com/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffkikel/  Sure Horizon Retirement Planning: https://www.surehorizonretirement.com/  Freedom Nation Podcast: https://www.freedomnationpodcast.com/     This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Have you ever thought about whether your content is accessible to those with a disability?  TRUTH: Up to 4% of the US population (that’s about 8 million people) can’t read the content you work so hard to produce.   And what if there’s a direct correlation between your content’s accessibility and your site’s SEO rankings? Well, there is!  If you’ve ever wished for more visibility, more visitors, or higher rankings in search, making your website and the content you’ve worked so hard to create accessible is your easiest and best first step.   Your Key to Search Engine Optimization: An Inclusive Website  When you add image alt text, button descriptions, and proper headings throughout your website, you’ll not only provide a better experience to visitors using screen readers or magnification tools, but you’re providing more context to search engines, resulting in higher domain authority for your site’s keywords and topics.   Why Ignoring Accessibility Could Cost You More Than You Think  According to surveys 1 in 6 people have a disability, and many of them use navigation, magnification, or reading assistance technology to search the internet, find service providers (that includes finding financial help!), and shop online. A much larger number of the aging population who don’t identify as disabled do use or will soon be using that same assistance technology to function online as they navigate retirement and old age.   (00:07:21) "When you improve accessibility, you usually will improve the user experience of everybody who doesn't have a disability." - Maxwell Ivey (The Blind Blogger)  Making Your Website Work for Everyone: Essential Tips for Accessibility Success  Accessibility in web design is not just a trend or a buzzword, it's a crucial aspect that can make or break the user experience for many individuals. In today's digital age, ensuring that your website is accessible to all users is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense.  By working with an accessibility consultant like Max, business owners can ensure that their websites comply with accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This not only helps to make the website more inclusive for all users but also reduces the risk of potential legal issues related to accessibility compliance.  Accessible Podcasting Software Max Recommends:  Streamyard: For Live-streaming and podcast recording. It integrates well with LinkedIn and YouTube for Live presentations/collaborations  Blubrry: A podcast host platform where your podcast files and show notes are uploaded and distributed to podcast player apps  Less Annoying CRM: A customer relationship management tool where you can track your conversations with potential clients, proposals, and conversions.   Calendly: Make it easy for podcast guests and potential clients to book a call with you, based on your availability.   *the above are NOT affiliate links  PodMatch: A guesting platform where you can be a guest on others’ podcasts or find guests for your own show. *this IS an affiliate link  Follow Maxwell Ivey:  Maxwell Ivey is a prominent advocate in the field of accessibility in web design, leveraging his extensive experience since 2007 to advance the cause of inclusivity online. As the host of The Accessibility Advantage podcast, Ivey emphasizes the significant benefits of accessible websites, such as improved user experience and enhanced search engine rankings. He believes that accessibility is not just about complying with regulations but is a strategic advantage for small and medium-sized businesses, enabling them to tap into a loyal consumer base of individuals with disabilities.  Email Max at maxwell@theaccessibilityadvantage.com  Listen to The Accessibility Advantage Podcast: https://lnns.co/-t0gLsrbuCD  This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Podcast guesting, whether you’re hosting guests or being the guest yourself, is still one of the BEST ways to grow your audience, build brand traction, and grow your email list. But if you’re sending emails or DMs, you’re getting overlooked.  Spray-and-pray messages, AI-written pitches, and misaligned PR requests are killing your chances, even though you’re (probably) not the culprit. Podcasters of every niche are sending guest email pitches straight to Trash and Spam without reading them because deciphering “guest fit” on 15+ AI emails a day isn’t worth the time – especially when 90% of those pitches are so obviously NOT a fit, it’s clear no one even evaluated the match.  So, how do you get those hosts to actually see & read your pitch?   How do you find aligned, perfect-fit guests for your show?     Stop the Spam: How to Land Podcast Guest Spots Without Cold Pitching  Why cold-pitching podcast hosts by email is a waste of time in today’s inbox climate  The problem with free “guest lists” and why they don’t solve the real issue  How PodMatch streamlines the process of finding shows and guests that are truly aligned  Action steps for both podcast hosts and aspiring guests to define their “perfect fit” before reaching out or signing up for matching  How attending conferences and podcasting guesting strategies work together to build lasting relationships  (00:03:06) "When you're the guest, you borrow the trust that the host has already built with their audience, and that shortcut is worth millions." - Virginia Elder    How To Stand Out in the Podcast Guest Arena  (00:03:06) Navigating Podcast Guesting Challenges Efficiently  (00:09:10) Streamlining Guesting Process with PodMatch  (00:14:24) Strategic Guest Selection for Podcast Success    From Inbox Overload to Guesting Done Right: The Smarter Way to Get on Podcasts  I found a guest-matching platform that removes email and DMs from the equation, housing all profiles, communication, pitching, scheduling, and even getting your waiver signed INSIDE the account. As you help others with their money, your impact creates a ripple effect through their families, friends, and anyone they’re in contact with, right?   Chris Miles had that in mind as he learned the hard way about investing in real estate versus 401K-style traditional investments, life insurance policies, and building a business. Finally, when he retired the second time at 39 years old, Money Ripples became the passion project he couldn’t stop talking about.   He’s all about creating true financial freedom through passive income, helping high-income earners crack the code on becoming wealthy, and allowing folks to enjoy life now instead of waiting decades for traditional retirement.     Podcasting and Life Insurance Hacks – Tried and True by Chris Miles  (00:06:15) Reevaluating Traditional Financial Planning Advice Through Experience  (00:17:40) Personalized Main Street Consulting Program for Investments  (00:19:28) Client-Centered Transparency for Business Growth  (00:24:59) Building Trust Through Long-Term Podcasting  (00:30:57) Personalized Approach for Client Growth and Engagement  (00:40:48) Effective Lead Generation through Strategic Incentives  (00:51:19) Creating Financial Impact through Money Ripples    Building Trust Through Long-Term Podcasting & Refining His Strategy Along The Way (11 Years!)  After being on the radio and creating other successful podcasts starting back in 2008, Chris started the Money Ripples podcast in 2014, growing it to the top 1.5% worldwide. Now, podcasting is the primary marketing arm of his business, pulling in 80-90% of his clients.   “What happened is my business doubled, but my profits octupled. You know, by doing that, I just went all in on podcasting.” - Chris Miles One primary lesson learned from that much podcasting experience is to demonstrate value through stories and examples to connect with listeners/viewers. While story is the first element, including a call-to-action is the second. Your podcast’s CTA should be to a lead magnet (think video course or calculator) where you’ll collect their name and email address in exchange for access. This helps qualify leads and steer them towards high-ticket offerings, resulting in a more engaged and profitable client base.    Podcasting Advice to Help Grow Your Financial Podcast:  Convert your “lessons” into stories that teach the lesson. Your followers will retain a lesson much more when they’re presented with a story containing a character they identify with in some way.   Integrate AI into your marketing beyond just using the free version of Chat GPT. With technology changing so quickly now, set aside 1 hour weekly to “play” with a new AI platform like Napkin.ai. When you find one that will be helpful to your business, customize your account until it produces in your voice/style.  Create online, evergreen, and one-to-many lead magnets like webinars, podcasts, books, and similar items that attract qualified leads without requiring additional hours of your time. A book or e-book can be a lead magnet through a “just pay shipping” promotion.   If you feel stuck, unmotivated, or unclear take physical action in the form of a walk or workout. Inspiration and answers often come while you’re engaged in activity because while your physical body is moving, your mind opens to creativity and imagination.       Follow Chris Miles:   Learn about Infinite Banking: https://moneyripples.com/  Listen to the Money Ripples Podcast: https://moneyripples.com/podcast-2/  Watch Chris on YouTube: www.youtube.com/@moneyrippleswithchrismiles  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chriscmiles/    Resources discussed in this episode:   AI Tools -   https://chatgpt.com/  https://askgpt.app/ai/direct-claude  https://www.napkin.ai/  Whiteboard for your shower thoughts: https://www.amazon.com/Whiteboard-Suction-Waterproof-Writing-Bathroom/dp/B09SYS1DDM      This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too! Most often, when you feel like your marketing is “missing something,” that something is the strategy. The behind-the-scenes thought process, perspective, and intention as you create the content, invite guests, reach out to potential power partners, and create social media posts is paramount to WHO you’re attracting and the price-level at which they purchase.     Don’t worry, this isn’t one of those episodes where we just tell you to make more cold calls, email blast strangers, or double your prices. Two key quotes from Ann made me do a double-take:   (00:18:04) "Anybody that's booked up needs to level up. We should never be booked up. We should always have a really high end offer that you can deliver with a leveraged model that does not take away all of your time." - Ann Carden    (00:27:50) "Content is for buyers, it's not for engagers." - Ann Carden    Actionable Steps to Reach High-Profile Clients Effectively:  Leverage podcasting, speaking engagements, and virtual events to attract clients in a one-to-many scenario, creating bigger impact in your business in exchange for your time/energy.  Focus on a clear content production strategy tailored to your specific situation & workload for sustainability  Select podcast hosts (where you’d guest on their show) and podcast guests (you’d have on your show) strategically to attract high-level clients  Create (compliant and) educational content to build relationships and influence buyers  Position yourself as a strategic partner and trusted ally for personalized strategies  Invest in professional branding elements to attract premium clients  Optimize your LinkedIn profile and leverage business-focused tools to reach high-level clients        Follow Ann Carden:   Her website: https://annlcarden.com/  Connect on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anncarden-business-consultant-coach/      This podcast is edited and managed by the team at PodcastAbundance.com and we’d love to produce your podcast too!
