As a cross country truck driver I do enjoy the scenery. the expansive vistas, even the skyline of Manhattan from across the Hudson. I have seen areas that are flooded with billboards and others where I feel liked I'm the only human to be there in 100 years. There was a severe problem with billboards a few years ago where I live on ther Oregon coast. You couldn't see the ocean for all of the billboards. A law was passed reducing the amount allowed on the coast by 95%. Finally you can drive down the US101 and see the ocean. Billboards do have a place. they provide information as well as breaking up the monotony. Just doubt over do ot people.
