Description

A prospector is a person who digs for minerals of value . A prospector often uses a pickaxe, a tool that is used to break apart rock to find the valuable minerals inside. This podcast is about doing just that, as a leader and a person, mining for human potential. As a high school principal, I do this everyday. As educators, we all do this everyday. We will discuss books on leadership, inspirational stories, educational issues, and together discover how to mine our own human potential.

Welcome to our second installment of the State of Our School.   Today, we focus on The Arts and Student Activities.  This presentation will be about concrete examples of the incredible things that we have done here in our school and community during the 21 - 22 school year.  The time has come to change the narrative surrounding Apache Junction High School and to set the record straight on the outstanding abilities and talents of our students and our staff.   I think that the best way to do this is to focus on the areas of Academics, the Arts and Student Activities; Athletics, Facilities and Curriculum,  and Students, Staff, and Faculty Honors and Awards, and our plans moving forward to continue to demonstrate improvement and provide students with a world-class educational experience.   We will present this information in a series of weekly video installments throughout the summer.
This is a letter collaboratively written by Pat Smith (Principal at Desert Vista Elementary School), Natalie Clement (Principal at Peralta Trail Elementary School), Phyllis Bellemere (Principal at Four Peaks Elementary School), Chad Cantrell (Principal at Cactus Canyon Junior High), and me, Chris Lineberry, Principal at Apache Junction High School.   We offered this during public comment at our last board meeting and wanted to be sure that you all know how valued you are.  This  is our expression of thanks to all of our students, teachers, and school communities.   Beyond that, this is a thank you to educators across our country, who have revealed their character in unprecedented times to be rock solid and undaunted.

The idea of this podcast is to share positivity and inspiration while staying connected as The Prospector Nation.    I would love to hear from you about how you are staying positive, staying engaged, and growing as individuals.   I want to share our stories and stay connected as we go through the challenge of the Corona Virus, we are stronger together than as individuals.   Email me your thoughts if you want to be a guest on my podcast, together we will prevail.   I cannot do this without your help, parents, students, teachers, staff all of you are invited to engage and share.
