The chase for the Stanley Cup has arrived, and with it Flip and Steele are breaking down every single playoff series round by round while serving up their series X-Factors, best bets, series winners and in how many games, starting with the Atlantic Division that features two juicy matchups. First the Tampa Bay Lightning taking on the Florida Panthers in the battle of Florida that is sure to feature some intense action from start to finish. Can Tampa Bay's experience and Cup caliber reign and will Andrei Vasilevskiy be an X-factor like Steele predicts? The Panthers have struggled a bit down the stretch and considering the fortress that Amalie Arena has been for the Lightning, this could be a very close series from the very beginning. Speaking of which, the Boston Bruins once again take on their "rival" Toronto Maple Leafs, even though the Bruins have basically dominated the Maple Leafs in both the NHL playoffs and regular season. Steele and Flip are both backing the Leafs and both think the Lightning have a good chance over the Panthers, only time will tell. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are in the air and so is a mix of the top stories from around the hockey world that we break down and analyze on the Tuesday episode of the Locked On Fantasy Hockey Podcast. Including the latest on Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and also the impending return of starting netminder of the Vancouver Canucks in Thatcher Demko. Both will obviously be key pieces of both teams' playoff push and both will not have much time to regain game shape. Especially Demko who has been out since early March. Steele and Flip also dig into the meat and potatoes of Tuesday's episode by discussing what is currently impacting the ability of the Colorado Avalanche to get wins, something they've only done in three of their last 10 games at the most critical time of the season. Is Alexander Georgiev pooched already after playing far too many regular season games? Another team being looked at in depth is the New York Rangers, an original-six club that just set a franchise record in wins with 54 and is looking for the Presidents' Trophy.
The final week of the NHL regular season and the fantasy hockey campaign has arrived, as the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin this upcoming Saturday, meaning there is no shortage of top hockey storylines to follow, including the latest on Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid and of course, how the Vegas Golden Knights continue to master the LTIR cap space with Mark Stone once again practicing and aiming for a postseason return to action. Flip and Steele also touch on the Toronto Maple Leafs and the red-hot Auston Matthews who is now sitting on 69 goals for the season. The boys also discuss the upcoming postseason matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche, as the Jets just sent a very big and direct message to the Avs with a sound 7-0 beatdown. We wrap up the show with our full NHL betting breakdown for Monday's NHL betting board. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day. We are free and available on all platforms and make sure to subscribe and follow us for the latest episodes every day!
With the Vegas Golden Knights inking Noah Hanifin to a long-term contract extension on Thursday, they made a big step in securing what is already a beast mode blue line of bruising bad boys - but are they big and bad enough to lock down the final Western Conference playoff spot and make another deep run at the Stanley Cup? With teams like the St. Louis Blues still with a very realistic shot at winning out and taking the spot, only time will tell over the coming days as the season winds to a close. We dive into the Blues a little deeper and give some credit to the two biggest reasons this club is still alive in the western race: Jordan Binnington and Robert Thomas, both of whom are having excellent years while proving they both still carry a ton of fantasy hockey value heading into next season. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day. We are free and available on all platforms and make sure to subscribe and follow us for the latest episodes every day!
Thursday's episode of the Locked On Fantasy Hockey Podcast dives into the hottest topics circulating the fantasy hockey and NHL world, including all of the latest news on the freefalling Philadelphia Flyers who have completely fallen off the map with losses in eight-straight games. Is this all fueled by ill will toward head coach John Tortorella? We discuss that and more, including Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews passing Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin's personal record for most goals in a single season with 65. Mathews now has a 66-piece and is pushing hard for that 70. Should he get it and Edmonton Oilers talisman Connor McDavid hit 100 assists, what would be the more impressive feat in terms of personal accolades? Flip and Steele take a look into the numbers and serve up their takes on what's more impressive: Papi's ginos or Mcjesus' apples. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day. We are free and available on all platforms and make sure to subscribe and follow us for the latest episodes every day!
With NHL teams out of playoff contention, some organizations are giving their prospects a chance to play on the big stage. Now is the time to make notes on whos getting a look and who to look out for in next seasons fantasy draft. Jesper Wallstedt recorded his 1st NHL shutout in his 2nd career NHL game against the Blackhawks. Shane Wright is getting a look in the top six group for Seattle while Olen Zellwegger puts on a show in Anaheim. Along with Big Time Bets we start todays episode with updates on Jack Hughes and Connor McDavid's latest injury. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day. We are free and available on all platforms and make sure to subscribe and follow us for the latest episodes every day!
In addition to breaking down all of the latest injury news from across the NHL that could be impacting your final week as a fantasy hockey GM, including the latest on Tampa Bay Lightning blue-liner Mikhail Sergachev and Detroit Red Wings netminder Ville Husso, Flip and Steele take a look into the top goal scorers in the NHL today. Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and David Pastrnak of the Boston Bruins take the first and second spot but after that, there are a number of intriguing fantasy hockey snipers that make our list. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers deserve the love of being on this list, but so do some other under-the-radar-type players with elite-level goal-scoring ability like Mikko Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche and Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning. We wrap up Tuesday's episode with our daily look into the NHL betting board with our hockey betting analysis and top picks of the night. Thanks for making Locked On Fantasy Hockey your 1st listen, every day.
