In honor of Juneteenth, we wanted to re-air an episode we produced a few years ago. In this episode, we discuss systematic racism, particularly what that has looked like in our local context of Dallas, Texas, and why the Church today should care. We’re also joined by Charlie Dates, senior pastor of Progressive Baptist Church in Chicago for a conversation on the topic. While this episode wasn't recorded recently, the topics are very much relevant today.

In this episode, Elizabeth is joined by a few friends to discuss some of the misconceptions surrounding singleness in both secular and Christian culture. They share their personal experiences navigating singleness and address harmful lies that often creep into the conversation, such as the notion that being single means something is wrong with you or that marriage is the only path to sanctification. Additionally, we explore a biblical view of singleness and sexuality in a post-christian culture that holds sexual expression as integral to being truly human.

I'm with Kelsey, the wave sucks. The only thing that's worse is the people that woo at baseball games.
at least half of this episode has got to be just approving mmmmmmmmms.
Well, some of these coronavirus takes did not age well. 😬
A lot of evangelicals WANT to be told what to believe. We don't want to actually seek out truth and verify information. We like the safety net of being able to say, "well someone told me this..." Then we have someone to pass the blame on to. I see it often with biblical truth as well. Believers asking questions but not seeking out the answers biblically, or even with sound logic.
Right after listening to this episode in 2020 I heard Greg Daniels on another podcast pitching his new show called Upload about living on by uploading brain data. 😳

I had no idea Jonathan Edwards owned slaves! I've been blessed and challenged by his writing and planned to teach our teenagers at church about him in Sunday School as one of the leading lights of the Gospel. I still will but along side the powerful messages in his writing I can teach the teens that God, in His mercy, uses us, flawed as we are. Thank you for an honest and thoughtful discussion on this podcast.
