Sometimes I Worry

This is a very special episode and a first for us, as we are joined by our wonderful friend Lauren! In this episode all about hair, she gives us the rundown on all the worries that come with having lustrous locks, and we discuss the myriad concerns caused by lockdown including those all-important homemade haircuts. We hope you enjoy!

We just had so many more things to talk about after language part 1, we had to do a part 2! In this episode we discuss the fear of getting caught out by words we don't fully understand (and real examples of childhood humiliation), a new way to make job roles gender neutral, the murky world of YouTube language videos and their 'clickbait-y' ways, Dan's love of jargon and plenty more besides. Thanks for tuning in, you can still find us on Twitter (@SometimesWorry) and Instagram (@sometimesiworrypod). And if you really want to go the extra mile, you could even leave us a review on one of the podcast platforms that encourage it!

Given the relevance for many more people than usual, this episode we're discussing working from home. From the obvious video call pitfalls, to keeping up with your hygiene habits and missing things about the office that you never expected, we discuss some of the most worrisome aspects of WFH (with a few laughs too, of course).

After a bit of a break we are back, discussing language and our myriad worries about it. From concerns about how language develops (and could leave us behind) to anxieties about whether our dialect is too local, we discuss the pitfalls of one of the pillars of human civilisation. Do you ever worry you're pronouncing a word incorrectly? Ever feel guilty for not being better at other languages? Join us as we discuss all this and more (with only the slightest of nods to current world events!)

We still had so many worries about Social Media, we decided to do a part 2! In it we discuss the perils of memes, gripes about trolls and online comments, fakes (including the 'news' and 'deep' varieties) and Worry News makes a sweaty reappearance. We hope you enjoy the episode, we'd love it if you subscribed so we can beam our new episodes straight to your device when they are released!
