Description

Do you ever find yourself worrying about something completely irrational? Of course you do!

So do we, but rather than leaving it in our heads we thought we'd talk out some of our most ridiculous worries. Alex and Dan discuss various fears and concerns each episode and find that actually, they don't sound so scary when said aloud. Maybe they even sound... humorous.

This is a very special episode and a first for us, as we are joined by our wonderful friend Lauren! In this episode all about hair, she gives us the rundown on all the worries that come with having lustrous locks, and we discuss the myriad concerns caused by lockdown including those all-important homemade haircuts. We hope you enjoy!
We just had so many more things to talk about after language part 1, we had to do a part 2! In this episode we discuss the fear of getting caught out by words we don't fully understand (and real examples of childhood humiliation), a new way to make job roles gender neutral, the murky world of YouTube language videos and their 'clickbait-y' ways, Dan's love of jargon and plenty more besides. Thanks for tuning in, you can still find us on Twitter (@SometimesWorry) and Instagram (@sometimesiworrypod). And if you really want to go the extra mile, you could even leave us a review on one of the podcast platforms that encourage it!
Given the relevance for many more people than usual, this episode we're discussing working from home. From the obvious video call pitfalls, to keeping up with your hygiene habits and missing things about the office that you never expected, we discuss some of the most worrisome aspects of WFH (with a few laughs too, of course).
After a bit of a break we are back, discussing language and our myriad worries about it. From concerns about how language develops (and could leave us behind) to anxieties about whether our dialect is too local, we discuss the pitfalls of one of the pillars of human civilisation. Do you ever worry you're pronouncing a word incorrectly? Ever feel guilty for not being better at other languages? Join us as we discuss all this and more (with only the slightest of nods to current world events!)
We still had so many worries about Social Media, we decided to do a part 2! In it we discuss the perils of memes, gripes about trolls and online comments, fakes (including the 'news' and 'deep' varieties) and Worry News makes a sweaty reappearance. We hope you enjoy the episode, we'd love it if you subscribed so we can beam our new episodes straight to your device when they are released! As heard on the BBC! In this episode we tackle the controversial phenomenon that's taken over large chunks of our lives in recent years: social media. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, even Bebo and MySpace get deconstructed in our lively and probably ill-informed discussion. With subjects ranging from Ed Balls Day to FOMO to art vs. artist, there are highs, and perhaps more accurately, lows. But we hope you enjoy the chat - as always please get in touch on social media(!) to let us know your thoughts. We're on Twitter @SometimesWorry and Instagram (sometimesiworrypod). Cheers!
It's January, and if you're anything like us you've promised yourself you'll get in better shape this year. This episode is all about fitness, and includes such delights as Dan reminiscing about the worst biscuit he ever ate (it was while he was running) and Alex boasting about squatting in a corner. If you enjoy the podcast please find us on Twitter (@SometimesWorry) and now Instagram! @SometimesIWorryPod. If you can tell a friend about us as well, even better. Enjoy the episode, and happy new year!
With the faint sound of jingle bells ringing in your ears, we thought we would turn our worried minds to Christmas. We discuss this monstrosity: https://www.delish.com/uk/food-news/a30118962/christmas-dinner-in-a-tin-game-tinner/ and talk quite a lot about gifts: giving, getting, and getting it wrong. Have a wonderful festive period and come find us on Twitter, @SometimesWorry.

An episode in which Dan is completely shocked by Alex's surprise revelation, and we discuss the etiquette of greetings, eating and the controversial subject of overtaking older people on pavements. Worry news this week is *cough* about Trump, kind of. Thanks so much for listening and give us a follow on Twitter: @SometimesWorry!
