I made my return to the podcast today with an episode on Bell Let's Talk Day! Today marks the 10th year of the mental health awareness campaign so I felt compelled to update you guys on my mental wellness journey and certain comments that I've been seeing about whether certain people have the "credentials" or not to interact with the Bell Let's Talk campaign.
Today I'm joined by Laura! She's an avid mental health advocate and has had her own share of experience with mental illness. In this episode she explains her journey in coping with her eating disorder while suffering from depression and anxiety. I'm super happy she stopped by to shed a little light on an area of mental illness that isn't often spoken of. Thank you again, Laura!

Episode 5 - Priorities

2019-11-2621:04

In this episode I elaborate on the reason why I took a little break from the podcast and give you an update on what I did with my time off. I also discuss why constant priority setting is so important for your own sense of self-awareness and well-being. Special shout-out to @gtalienbeats once again for the consistent fire productions on the intro, outro, and transitions.
This week I describe my struggle to uphold my self-imposed position of being a manly man and my idea of what assuming that role meant. This episode was created in the hopes that men will start to make their mental health a priority in their lives.
Today I'm joined by Zaid Dawood, a good friend to many including himself. We discuss how a clearly defined mission or goal can push you past your struggles and how crucial self reflection is in today's age.
This finale to my 2-part series on sharing has quite a bit packed into it! I touch on my father passing away and how I was finally convinced I needed to seek further treatment.
In this episode I explain how racism during my childhood in Belgium continued to have long lasting effects on my social interactions leading into my 20s. This is the first part of a 2-part series on how I eventually learned to share my personal story in a freeing and introspective manner.
Welcome to the first episode of the Open Social Society! In this episode I explain who I am and what my goals are with the podcast.
