Teachers teaching within the Reformed Tradition have a rich theological tradition to draw on, and despite contemporary troubles within denominations like the CRC, there is still much to love and learn from. This session will review some of the key teachings of the Reformed Tradition and how you might integrate them into any class.

How do biblical authors communicate the most important things? They don’t show graphs or spreadsheets. They don’t even publish FAQs or doctrinal statements. More often than not, they tell stories.In this session, we will explore how the Bible communicates formational truth through narrative (in contrast with the Church’s historical approach to theology), and how Christian educators can do the same.
Set them up. Hide the clues. Disorient your students enough that they can be re-oriented. Then do the lesson to them. Make them laugh, protest, or even go to the principal to complain. Rooted in a Christian world and life view, this training emphasizes the inherent value of every individual, the importance of discernment in identifying harmful intentions, and the call to shepherd and protect the vulnerable.
