We'll see you next time... for some holiday cheer... Follow us on twitter (or alternatives, lol) Nicky: @Anti_Laser   Wyatt: @WazpRanger EWD: @EWD_Podcast

Okay so we ran into some logistical difficulties trying to make an episode on the Daicon Orochi movie so we pivoted into talking about GUNHED, maybe the most incredible tokusatsu film you've never heard of... that isn't a showa movie I guess. We had an awesome time recording this episode and trying to piece together the bizarre thing we just watched. Let us help you discover a new cult favorite on this week's Discuss All Monsters! and join us next time for our annual spooky detour for Halloween! We'll be watching Noroi: The Curse Follow us on twitter!   Nicky: @Anti_Laser Wyatt: @WazpRanger Explode When Defeated: @EWD_Podcast
Our pal Johnny joins us to talk about the cult-classic combination mad scientist movie and espionage thriller Godzilla vs Biollante on this week's SHIN Discuss All Monsters. We have a great conversation digging into the movie's story as well as its lavish, innovative, economic bubble-era special effects. Also the horrible mummy that composed music for all the Dragon Quest games composed for this movie. It sounds fucking nuts! Enjoy the episode and join us next time as we dig into Daicon's Yamato no Orochi no Gyakushu! Follow us on twitter!  @Johnny2Cellos @Anti_Laser @WazpRanger EWD_Podcast Art Credit: @BoltCreature

THE FINAL SEASON BEGINS HERE. We're back and roaring out the gates with our first episode of SHIN Discuss All Monsters, our show on every OTHER Toho-associated kaiju film we can think of. First, we're diving into the Heisei era and there's no better way to begin than with the first Heisei Godzilla film. Does this new take on our favorite lizard live up to the original from 1954? Does it give us a radical new take? Or does it have a weird amount of worship for Prime Ministers and a weird over-extended production? Find out today in the first new episode of Discuss All Monsters!   Follow us on twitter!   Nicky: @Anti_Laser Wyatt: @WazpRanger Podcast: @EWD_Podcast
Here we are, at the end of our short, sweet second season of DISCUSS ALL MONSTERS. We've explored Daiei's kaiju output, and that all comes to a beautiful, crystallized conclusion here in Ryuta Tasaki's Gamera The Brave. We dig into the specific mood and humor of this film and how it wraps the series up at the end of its life. We also discuss some of our thoughts overall on this season and some of our favorite things we've covered this year. We're going to take a short break to prepare for our next season, so tune in next month as we begin to unleash our thoughts on the rest of Toho's kaiju films, as well as some odds and ends that YOU paid for as patrons! Thanks for that! Next time... the debut of our third, final season: SHIN DISCUSS ALL MONSTERS. We return with Godzilla (1984), see you there!   Follow us on twitter!  @Anti_Laser @Wazpranger @EWD_Podcast
Monster-Discussing Veteran Toby Jones makes another appearance on our show to talk about the third and most offbeat of the heisei-era Gamera films, 1999's Revenge of Iris. We get into its fascinating take on things as a follow-up to Gamera 2, as well as a general discussion of what made this trilogy so damn good and why it'll stand the test of time. This episode is PACKED with the good stuff, as well as some Dreamcast references, so we hope you're excited to jump in with us!   Follow us on Twitter! @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser @Tobytobyjones
Nicky and Wyatt take some time to discuss the hugely impressive and awe-inspiring sequel to the first heisei Gamera, Gamera 2: Attack of Legion. The same crew that brought us the first movie return to do things bigger and badder and we examine how it achieves that status, because let there be no doubt. They totally fucking bring it.    Follow us on Twitter! @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser
Minovsky returns to the show to join us in a joyous discussion of one of the most perfect movies to grace our podcast in some time. We're talking of course about Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, the first in the Heisei Gamera Trilogy (which might be the most celebrated string of films in the entire genre!) This movie is an absolute thrill ride, and I think you can probably feel our enthusiasm for it beaming off of our voices on this episode. If you haven't seen it, see it! If you have or you're curious about it, take a listen! We had a great discussion. Follow us on Twitter! @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser @MinovskyArticle

We've got samurai, we've got an old soothsayin' lady, and we've got a giant pissed off statue down to lay waste to the whole situation. Friend of the show, graphic novelist and occasional podcast host Joey Weiser joins us once again to discuss one of the weirdest movies in Gamera's catalogue. In this episode we talk about clip shows, superhero space women, and Nicky uses their huge, horrific manga brain to identify an issue from Shonen Jump from 42 years ago.  Follow us on twitter! @joeyweiser @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser
Hazel from Youtube Videos joins us for yet another instance of Gamera-themed monster discussion. We have tons of... fun. discussing this week's pick, Gamera vs Zigra from 1971. We talk about how it has scenes, and special effects of some kind. As well as actors who showed up and hopefully were paid money. We also talk about how the film has attributes and characteristics such as Running Time and Format. Follow us on twitter! @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser
I can't believe I have to say this, but uh. I'm gonna have to issue a content warning here for Elephant Dissections. That's right, we're talking about Daiei's twisted attempt at celebrating the Expo '70 held in Osaka. It's Gamera vs Jiger! We talk about weird pig dogs, insane kid movie violence and a looming warning from a close friend in this week's Discuss All Monsters. This thing is pretty weird, but does that weirdness take it above the threshold in our weird and winding journey with the friend to all children? Find out in this episode!  And join us in a couple more weeks for GAMERA VS ZIGRA.   Follow us on Twitter! @EWD_Podcast @WazpRanger @Anti_Laser
Alex Horab joins us once again for perhaps the most infamous movie in the Gamera series to all those well-versed in schlock, and the ensuing conversation is one filled with a lot of enthusiasm for the deeply goofy movie Daiei made here. While it may retread a lot of ground, we dig into the things that make it stand out while making some really dumb jokes of our own. This is also the movie where that one gif is from. Y'know, with the pterodactyl guy accidentally cutting his leg off. Follow us on twitter! Wyatt: @Wazpranger Nicky: @Anti_Laser EWD: @EWD_Podcast join us next time for our adventure into uh.... well, you'll see... in GAMERA VS JIGER.
This week on Demolition Daiei, we're going to the beach, hijacking a submarine, using our lassos and getting abducted by aliens! Gamera vs Viras is a weird, wild, and uh... lengthy endeavor and we're here to discuss our findings. As we wade deeper into the ocean that is our turtley friends' adventures, are we still going to wear our good time hats, or are they gonna be lost to the tide? Join us and find out! Follow us on twitter! Wyatt: @Wazpranger Nicky: @Anti_Laser EWD: @EWD_Podcast and tune in next time as we clash guilloti-- I mean swords--  I mean guillotines with sadistic monsters in GAMERA VS GUIRON
Our pal Buster nobly joins us on short notice to talk about the third and most batty of Gamera installments, Gamera vs Gyaos! We talk with Buster about their relationship with tokusatsu as a whole, and then dive into a brief, fun discussion of this moment of coalescence for our fire-breathing turtle. We talk about the weird vampire bat guy he throws a rock at too. Don't think for a second we forgot about that. Enjoy the episode and stay tuned next time for... GAMERA VS VIRAS! Follow us on twitter! Wyatt: @Wazpranger Nicky: @Anti_Laser EWD: @EWD_Podcast
Wyatt and Nicky dive into the deadly jungle that is talking about Gamera's first sequel: 1966's GAMERA VS BARUGON. With a different director in tow, Daiei decided to change up the vibe and lean closer to their contemporaries. Listen and find out how we felt about that and more in this episode of DEMOLITION DAIEI. Maybe the production wasn't nearly as hellish! Who knows! Follow us on twitter! Wyatt: @Wazpranger Nicky: @Anti_Laser EWD: @EWD_Podcast   Join us next time as we talk about Noriaki Yuasa's return to the director's chair in GAMERA VS GYAOS!
