Established in summer 2013 in Newcastle, England, Avenue Red is all about high quality house & techno music with unique character and depth. We aim to push DJs and artists based solely upon the quality of their output, the refinement of their taste and their dedication to the music. Commercially-driven reputation, inflated egos, "big names" and artificially-manufactured hype are of no interest to us. We know true quality shines in its own light.

Berlin-based Russian-German selector Dmitry Gusev returns for his 8th contribution to Avenue Red, this time again laying down a lot of his favourite oldskool deep house, nu jazz & techno records. Many of his inclusions also happen to be some of our favourite records from that era too. What a tightly mixed, delightfully colourful and heartfelt autumn mixture of vibes we have here! "Hello all music lovers, I am finally back here spinning the classic trax on the black wax after 5 years since I recorded episode number 165! It was a lot of fun playing the mix. I wanted to play a classic sound from the late 90s and early 2000s. Vincenzo, Needs, Callisto, etc. Enjoy!" Rugon, the official Chugmeister General from Zandvoort (coastal Amsterdam pretty much - same latitude as Kidderminster FYI), is back with more drugged-out, deep, chugging weirdo house & techno music for Avenue Red! This is mix number 5 and counting for us... "I am happy to only spin vinyl in this journey because it saves me from looking into a screen for everything the whole time. A better kind of focus is thus achieved. The eyes and mind's eye can become dizzy as the ears. A hynotic expression is revealed. Though, I must assure you that there are no subliminal messages contained within this mix, whatsoever. Thank you." Avenue Red rolls out the red carpet for his 4th visit to the main podcast series... 6 years on from his debut appearance, we welcome another delightfully deep, dreamy "sleep house" vinyl mix from Paris DJ Pierre Caillou, who is also the owner of the excellent Chateau Chépère record label. It is also worth noting that this is the first mix we have ever released that contains a sample from a 90s raccoons cartoon (link below). "This is the « Lysergic Raccoon Dream » mixtape... pretty self-explanatory I guess. Mischievous deep cuts by: Dialogue - Dub Taylor Remix (Morris Audio City Sport Edition, 2005) Maizena (Regelbau, 2019) Dan Piu (Birds, 2023) Oleg Poliakov (Circus Company, 2012) Two Armadillos (Two Armadillos, 2012) Rick Wade (Laid, 2009) Brian Harden (Sistrum, 2014) Unknown Artist (Chikyu-u Records, 2019) Jacksonville (Chateau Chepere, 2024) Spacer IV aka JS Zeiter (Pleasure, 1997) Graephyc Joy (Subwave, 1996) Kid Scientific (Ritual Recordings, 2000) John Ciafone (Ultra Records, 1998) Julian Perez (Fathers & Sons Productions, 2012) Thotful Spot (Basic Energy / Mineral Cuts, 1994/2021)" Pierre Caillou, July 2022 https://soundcloud.com/cailloulapierrequiroule See Also: https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-201-caillou https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-172-caillou https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-136-caillou And Also: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110008/
The Avenue Red Podcast hits the quarter of a millennium episode... Enter Nuremberg artist and DJ, Armin Bender. "So, what can I tell about this mix? It was recorded in my home studio, where I used an Allen & Heath Xone mixer, 2x Technics decks & a CDJ plus a Korg Kaosspad for effects. I selected many new and some older trax with deep and timeless attitude from artists and labels I really like, and I tried to create a flow as I always do. I hope you can feel it... Deepness rules!" Armin Bender, August 2025 https://soundcloud.com/arminbender
The Avenue Red Podcast is back with a delightfully deep edition of slickly mixed intergalactic techno and electro, a straight-up and honest document of the soul by underground hero Jayson Wynters from Birmingham, England. "Recorded in my home studio in Birmingham on my Technics SL-1210 Mk2 turntables and my Allen & Heath mixer. This sonic presentation was more on the deep dubbier side of things with tracks old & new. I hope you enjoy!" Jayson Wynters, July 2025 https://soundcloud.com/jwynters
Damo B brought the Innate boys Owain K and Gilbert up from Bristol to Manchester to help man the music stations @ Eastern Bloc! A wicked night that started with Damo B playing on a loosely B2B tip with Owain as they jointly delivered a smooth vinyl session deluxe, exploring their mad collections of deep, grooving, funky house music with a few techno licks thrown into the mix. Gilbert then stepped up for a LIVE electronics set, performed off-the-cuff and exclusively composed of his own material. Astonishing music that will make you wish you were there! https://soundcloud.com/damo-b https://soundcloud.com/owaink https://soundcloud.com/gilbert_sound https://soundcloud.com/innate-recordings

Maidstone-based veteran selector Tomas Bexton - hot on the heels of his recent appearance at our last event @ OverDraught in Levenshulme, Manchester - here delivers his 3rd mix contribution for Avenue Red. This time Tomas is keeping things on the firmer side, with some icy blasts from the past in the world of deep, pulsating abstract techno. Feel the turbulence. "Obviously delighted and honoured with a third appearance on the musical vortex that is Avenue Red! My intention was to do something different to my other Avenue Red sets and attempt a dub-techno mix. However, this was the result. I went digging back into my humble techno collection, with some of the records featured purchased when I was still a teenager. Recorded in one take using 100% vinyl, this is about as hard as it gets for me. I hope that it resonates... big love to the global Avenue Red crew!" Avenue Red welcomes back Glasgow DJ & producer Chris Curtis AKA Theta Waves (moniker for his deep & moody production works). Here we have an immaculate and expansive 2+ hour mix session whose centre of gravity is firmly in the sphere of planet deep techno. And here's some related news... We are hosting an Avenue Red event @ OverDraught in Levenshulme, Manchester on Saturday 10th May from 3pm-1am, where you can catch Chris playing alongside Dubrovnik (UK) (also travelling down from Glasgow for the occasion), Tomas Bexton heading up from Maidstone in Kent and Avenue Red boss Alec Pritchard all commandeering the decks. Get involved! "Electronic music hasn't just always been a love of mine but playing a set has always been a great way to de-stress and focus on nothing but music for a few hours. Last year was a busy year as I kicked off a new night in Glasgow (Trace) which ran for 6 months, plus preparing the monthly subSine Sessions show takes some time, although it's something I love putting together. A short while ago I had an opportunity to spend an evening putting a mix together with no reason other than getting into the music and seeing where the journey took me. As opposed to playing live, putting a mix together gives you a great opportunity to plan a set list that really evolves and puts thought to deep transitions. Unlike most of my other mixes this one was totally unplanned. The only thing I had in mind was capturing the essence of a Trace night into a compressed set of around 2 hours, feeling the vibe as I went, so I guess this is more like a live set in some ways. When I'd finished the mix I thought this would be a good contender for Avenue Red, I'm glad Alec agreed. I use Traktor with timecode vinyl on 1210s. Although a pain sometimes in a club it's great for the home setup as it allows me to switch between digital tracks and vinyl without anyone noticing. This also lets me play loads of unreleased material on the monthly subSine show. The Pioneer DJM800 is my weapon of choice mixer-wise. Delighted to be providing another instalment of Avenue Red. Thanks Alec. Full track list to follow. Thanks for listening." Avenue Red presents another tasty "live from the scene" session recording. Up next we have Jay Bliss (real name Iulian Cazan) from Bucharest, Romaina - IN Bucharest, Romaina. You can tell where it happened and when exactly from the title, ok?... Just read it in the title!... God!! 🙄 Have to explain everything sometimes!! Jeez. Anyway... Iulian is the man behind prestigious imprints Vade Mecum and Stomping Grounds. He is also an incredible artist, trust us, but we are too tired to list all of it here and we can't face it because there is just so much! Please have a look for yourself and educate yourselves. In this wonderful, spacious, nicely-worked venue in Bucharest he has created a magical 4.5 hours world of music to explore a lot of different styles, genres and variants of electronic music goodness. Steep yourselves in it! "This live session at Platforma Wolff, set on a Thurday evening, starts with a bit of downtempo and goes into full blown party music! Enjoy 😃" Iulian Cazan, April 2025 https://soundcloud.com/jaybliss https://www.discogs.com/artist/661000-Jay-Bliss https://stomping-grounds.bandcamp.com :: Event :: https://www.instagram.com/p/C_aQtK2I-TP
Avenue Red welcomes a debut mix from Tim Ohta, who has delivered a seamless 100 minute vinyl-only session of slinky, deep, smooth-rolling minimal house & techno. Prepare to be immersed in some seriously trippy and hypnotic sounds from a 20-years-in-the-game veteran selector! "I am 43 and for almost half of my life (since 2005) I have been collecting vinyl records with a tenacity worthy of a better use. Sometimes I even get to play them in some public spaces. I think this picture suits the mix nicely. It is my 'avenue' on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg, Russia. The photo was taken at 5 o'clock in the morning... after the club vibes ;) This mix for Avenue Red was recorded at home using a classic set-up: an Allen & Heath Xone:92 and 2x Technics 1210's. There was no pre-selection of records involved - the session was completely spontaneous, so I can't provide the tracklist. Thanks to Alec for posting!" Trust when we tell you this mix has been a long-time coming... And now, finally, enter Tm Shuffle (AKA Trackmaster Shuffle AKA DJ Shuffle). His real name is Jukka Hänninen and he originates from Ruutana, Finland - a settlement absorbed into the country's sprawling second-largest city Tampere, which lies in the south of the country, about 150 km north of Helsinki. Jukka is a purveyor of finest deep & dubby techno music as an artist, DJ and label boss with his Vuo Records and Soulful Dubs imprints, which stretch back to a first release in 2003. His labels have released the works of his friends and fellow countrymen like Monoder, Phonogenic, Trevor Deep Jr; Star Dub; Armin Bender; Marco Cassanelli; former Avenue Red guest OHM and his long-time collaborator Kvadrant, to name just a handful. This mix is a testament to his veteran status on the decks and his keen ear for a patient, treacle-smooth flowing deep dubbed-out techno vinyl mix that feels transcending, full of cosmic touches... and if you close your eyes you can see the northern lights shimmering in your mind as you let the sounds wash over you. "I bring this mix from Ruutana City, Finland. Hidden in this studio in the forest, armed with two trusty old 1210s, a mixer and some dusty records, I bring the usual dubby deepness. Dive in!" Ruslan Huzaev & Artyom Savitsky AKA Glik & Arts, a duo from Moscow and Minsk respectively, are back for their second mix on the Avenue Red Podcast. Here they are found circling around in that hinterland where purely deep house meets dub techno in a blurry merge of spacey, aquatic 4/4 sounds. https://soundcloud.com/huzaev https://soundcloud.com/artssss https://soundcloud.com/deeparts See Also: https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-207-glik-arts
The Avenue Red Live Sessions series hits the 10th episode with a pulsating tech house mix from Peter Bernath from Budapest, Hungary. Peter is the boss of RTS.FM Budapest and his long-running Lost Minute event, where Avenue Red's Alec Pritchard had played back in February 2022 (exactly 3 years ago - see links below). This is a live & direct session recorded at a festival near the village of Rajka in the north west of Hungary. "3/9/24, 9:29 PM [Peter] Heey Alec, how are you? I have a nice recording from one of my favorite small festival (DVN Camp) and this years edition was incredible... such a nice location by the river, amazing crowd and I really loved playing there especially on the little Ecler Warm2 rotary 🙂 If you have time please check it out my friend 🙂 I was wondering if you could maybe use it for your Avenue Red series... of course just in case if you like it and it fits?? ---- 9/9/24, 7:45 PM [Alec] I heard it 4 times. I definitely love it and want it. Great set. Peace Division one in there too 🙌 Excellent energy for the Live Sessions series. Studio one can follow soon! ---- 9/9/24, 10:44 PM [Peter] Here you can find the wav: [link] I also put a pic from the event, can you use it? Stockport-based Preston lad Olly Godfrey steps up for his debut mix for the Avenue Red Podcast with a stunning CD-length session of deep house and grooving 4/4 dancefloor fodder. We attest that this guy knows how to select and glue records together alright, as we had the pleasure of hearing him spin a head-warping set last summer at a 40th birthday party at the lovely venue named 33 Oldham Street in central Manchester (guess the address?!). That was a wildly uptempo & techy affair, but here he demonstrates his maturity as a DJ with a calmer, slower and more down to earth pure house music vibe. "I haven't really played many events worth mentioning, mainly just smaller parties and gatherings with friends over the years, plus the occasional radio show. I started DJing at 16 and I turn 40 this year. I started out going to events like Gatecrasher and Cream, then slowly going to more house and techno nights such as Tribal Sessions and Bugged Out!. These all had a strong influence on my sound. This mix for Avenue Red brings together some of my favourite sounds - dreamy, Italo and groovin' house music. It's a reflection of the music I'd want to hear if I'd just walked into a club and onto the dancefloor... enjoy!" Olly Godfrey, January 2025 https://soundcloud.com/technokid85
After an unusual 3-year gap, Alessandro Crimi is back at Avenue Red HQ once again, marking himself as one of the lords of the deep underground. This fresh 2025 mix is to show us his latest updated maps and mathematical models of a specific realm of the Universal space-time continuum... here, he presents what he describes as: deep, atmospheric and futuristic electro. Let's explore. https://soundcloud.com/alessandro_crimi https://soundcloud.com/waehlscheibe See Also: https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-202-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-185-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-153-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-125-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/avenue-red-is-5-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-083-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-069-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-032-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-027-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-006-alessandro-crimi https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/radio-show-007 Photo taken by Alec Pritchard somewhere over Switzerland 🇨🇭
Avenue Red ushers in another new year's feast of deepness with a fresh debut mix from Adrià Duch - an artist, DJ & producer based in Barcelona. Adrià has released music on some of the finest proper underground labels including: Apnea Label; Insectorama; Chikyu-u Records; Greyscale; ECOUL SND; Lempuyang; Crossfade Sounds; Piranha Siberia Dub; Citrica Records; Melotonin; Slope Point; ODrex Music... and there are many more imprints graced as his production catalogue traces back to somewhere pre-2012. But damn it, to what length will this list stretch to being in another 5-10 years time?! So yes, Adrià has created tons of seriously amazing material that is moody, creative in arrangements and demonstrates his very special awareness of, and skill in handling the heavy sonic details in the low-end bassy frequencies. Wanna hear him DJ? Recline. It's all going to be fine. "I want to thank Alec for giving me this opportunity. I have to say that I consider myself first a producer and then a DJ. I obviously like to play music and I am always excited to collect vinyl, whether it be LPs or 12"s. I am a lover of dub techno - always have been! I make dubby-oriented music under my own name but for this mix I wanted it to be eclectic. I also enjoy many other genres in the electronic music scene. This is a vinyl-only set that starts very deep and pleasant, continues with some jacking house to move your body and ends up with pure darkness. It's basically tracks I've been digging lately and other favourites I own. This mix became an inspiration to me also." Adrià Duch, January 2025 https://soundcloud.com/adriaduch
The Avenue Red Podcast is here to deliver the final release of 2024 as we welcome a debut mixtape from DJ/artist/producer Sveta Pavlova AKA Svetiritm from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Sveta has some mad production skills and has showcased them on Alessandro Crimi & Sandro Isler's Waehlscheibe imprint with her awesome, ridiculously hypnotic Teleport EP from earlier in 2024... this pick being just the tip of the iceberg of top tracks and mixes released across the board of underground beacons of truth & light we keep our eyes and ears upon. She also goes a step further, creating and delivering full audio-visual performances at some events, so we clearly have an adventurous full-package artist on show here! Get ready for an intense, explosive session. "I just want to send peace and love for everyone 🙏🏻 I'm glad to record a mix for Avenue Red and be close to such legendary DJs. UK music has always inspired me and my friends, especially sounds coming from the city of Bristol! Enjoy the vibes." Sveta Pavlova, December 2024 https://soundcloud.com/svetiritm
Avenue Red welcomes the second coming of the Athens-based Greek dub techno philosopher, DJ & artist known to those who know as Substak. Kostas Staikos, to those who do not. Here he administers another dose of his trademark wild interplanetary deepness that is sure to enamour the ears of those who see the world in a red tint, precisely 1,992 days after the last transmission. "I was born in Athens and began producing in 2011 to escape a bit from real life. Till today I have released on various labels and this journey will continue.
