Manawa and Mel sit down to korero with Peter Tynan, CEO of Foundation North. Foundation North is the largest philanthropic (kinda like charitable) funder in Aotearoa, and was setup after the sale of the ABS bank back in 1988.  The multiple millions of dollars it generates every year goes into funding initiatives in Auckland and Northland. Peter grew up in South Auckland and has had multiple executive and leadership roles, we chat with him about the Foundation, how it's honouring the treaty, how it's investing into South Auckland, and get some of his tips of leadership for impact. Enjoy!
Manawa sits down with Green Party Co-Leader Marama Davidson during her 2020 Election Campaign, to learn more about the Manurewa local and the lessons she has learned so far in life.  A strong theme throughout the kōrero is about the power of Wāhine, Indigenous Women, and our ability to fix the worlds toughest challenges. Enjoy x
Manawa sits down with Rt Hon Winston Peters during his 2020 Election Campaign, to hear from him his experience around leadership and longevity.  Of course, there's some politics in there, but this kōrero was all about gleaning wisdom from a well-seasoned leader in Aotearoa politics, someone who has run the highs and lows of life, and continues to do what he believes in. We hope you enjoy this kōrero.

Stronger Than You Think!  In this final episode Manawa and Mel talk about creating environments for our people to thrive.  Every living thing in this world has unique and ideal environments in which they will thrive (or not) and we believe that this is an important aspect to any programme, event or space aimed at Māori and Pacific peoples.
Stronger Than You Think!  In episode four we unpack how we choose to prioritise people over 'programmes' and the reality that entrepreneurship is a fantastic pathway for self and community development.  Because our people and our community need time and support to develop themselves as entrepreneurs, we realised we needed additional structure to support this development focussed mahi.
Stronger Than You Think!  In this episode, we talk through the early stages of growing our community and what it's like to just get started with a full, clear picture of what's ahead.  This courageous approach is important for enabling innovation, and building an idea with lean resources. This episode also features Joel from TSI, Keu from ASK Q, Kathie from ATEED and Ray the founder of GameTan.
Stronger Than You Think!  In this episode, we go back to the beginning and share the story of setting up Ngahere Communities, Te Haa o Manukau and Tukua, and the 4-way partnership that exists.  This journey of setting up a social impact initiative with multiple Local Government agencies and a small community based social enterprise definitely wasn't a walk in the park.  Lots of courageous korero take place!
STRONGER THAN YOU THINK This Mini-Series was recorded during level 3 of COVID Lockdown and tells the story of Tukua, a whanau of creators, innovators and entrepreneurs in Manukau, South Auckland. Tukua is also a 'programme' designed to build the capabilities of, and access to resources for our creators, innovators and entrepreneurs. In episode one - Resilience, Relationships and Response - we chat about how this COVID season has pushed us to be resilient, and how we have experienced that resilience in the Tukua whanau through the strong relationships that have and are being formed.  While also investigating how the response needed for COVID was shown in the amazing crew. Stronger Than You Think is sponsored by Akina Foundation for the Impact Initiative.
