In this episode, we have on Tanner Pruett discusses his coaching journey and how it has evolved over time. Tanner played baseball at Modesto Junior College in CA and Crown College in MN. He began his coaching career at Starters Sports Training and went on to coach at St Cloud State University, Tread Athletics and is currently a pitching instructor at Mash Baseball and a volunteer pitching coach at North Central University.
In this episode we discuss the importance of allowing athletes to
explore and find their own movement solutions, rather than focusing on perfect mechanics. Tanner also discusses how his coaching approach aligns with ecological dynamics and the Constraint Led Approach. He highlights the value of incorporating real game-like situations, such as facing live batters, into training sessions. We discuss how coaches can use biomechanics to guide an athletes search process to find more functional movement solutions. The conversation also explores the balance between exploration and consistency in training, as well as the role of constraints in pitching practice.

In this episode, we share our thoughts on the 2023 Sport Movement Skill Conference hosted by Emergence. In our conversation, we explore the importance of discovering the ecosystem of Art and Science, where it lives and breaths within an Ecological Approach. We discuss the need for athletes to be adaptable and resourceful in dynamic sporting contexts. The conversation highlights the role coaches play in creating practice environments that foster exploration and
problem-solving. We discuss the value of facilitating space for athletes to explore in order to find their authentic functional fit within the context of their sport.
