The power of changing your narratives to get results.  Most of what we do is habit. If you do something enough, it becomes automated and a habit. It’s easier to get into the business as usual; life becomes an autopilot, and everything becomes a routine. The problem with habit is. It stays with you, and you do the same thing repeatedly. Sometimes, habits or routines can stand in our way. Regardless of how many days are left in this year, you can still make it memorable by mastering your pattern and changing your narratives about the thing.   For more love notes for #wellbeing #mentalhealth #selfawareness #digitalhealth #emotionalwellbeing and #healing connect with Redefining Living:   Website: https://redefiningliving.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/redefiningliving/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/redefiningliving/
What would your life look like if your life were an art? Some weeks ago, an event reminded me of my responsibility and commitment to ensure that my life is not driven by someone else’s expectations or assumptions of how I should live. And that, my friend, is the Redefining Living moment.  Listen, I don’t claim to have a formula on how to do that, nor do I claim to have a method. It’s hard because some things we want have never been modelled. How we are nurtured as we grow up, the media we are exposed to, and the world and times we live in profoundly influence what we believe we can achieve for ourselves. And so it will be different for each and every one of us. If the above question has crossed your mind lately or you think you’d benefit from reassessing where you are, let’s dive into today's show. In this episode, I offer three sets of inquiries to help you answer that question from this moment forward so you can create a life that inspires you.   For more love notes for #wellbeing #mentalhealth #selfawareness #digitalhealth #emotionalwellbeing and #healing connect with Redefining Living:   Website: https://redefiningliving.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/redefiningliving/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/redefiningliving/
Throughout our journey in life, we will go through various seasons and detours that will require you to want to press the delete button. These things happen, and like many people I’ve either worked with or shared their experiences with me, navigating this situation isn’t easy. You will not be in a good frame of mind to make the right decision; you may struggle to find help or seek help from the wrong source, and some people even go into depression due to this situation.   What are bounce-back anchors? These are actions or activities that keep your spirit, soul and body in place so you’re in a good place to make decisions. In this episode, I share my top five bounce-back anchors that have helped me gracefully navigate life detours. What does your happiness quotient look like in an era where turbulence and disruption are the norm? With the cost of living rising at an alarming rate, unemployment is not looking promising either. Both factors have been associated with reduced well-being, increased anxiety and worsening mental health. One of the societal imprints we've adopted is the belief that life is linear. Go to school, get a job, marry, have kids, buy a house, have another kid, retire and then die. So when your life doesn't fit that box or pattern, you judge yourself and feel like a failure.   I can tell you that at a time in my life, I cried countless tears because my life couldn't fit into the norm society laid out for me – even till now. I was divorced, in debt, distressed, disappointed by people, and, of course, I was dissatisfied with life.  The more I struggled to keep the pieces together, the more they kept falling apart. But now I'm evolving. From my appearance to how I do what I do, I'm a whole different woman.   If you are in distress, depressed or dissatisfied with where you are in life, I'll like to share some wisdom nuggets you can use to bring all the complexities in your life together to create a beautiful picture you never could have imagined. **** For more love notes for #wellbeing #mentalhealth #selfawareness #digitalhealth #emotionalwellbeing and #healing connect with Redefining Living: Website: https://redefiningliving.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/redefiningliving/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/redefiningliving/
Can I tell you something? There is a version of you that you still need to meet. I am not recording this episode because I’ve figured it out perfectly. The truth is, I have many moments where it feels easier to go through them with my heart closed and afraid. And the fact is, I’m afraid, but I tell myself that I’m going to dare to trust anyway. I’ve got baggage, but I will set my standards high regardless. My heart is broken, but I will dare to love again. I will show up in my life with my broken pieces because I believe that if I continue to open my heart to love…there lies the miracle I’ve been waiting for all along. Are you ready to open your heart to love again? I share four tips to get you started on your journey.   Recommended books: Love: The Way to Victory by Kenneth E. Happiness is circumstantial; it's dependent mainly on external factors. But brilliance is who you are. It doesn't require education, money or power; it only needs intentionality. We don't experience it because we don't understand it, we are conditioned to believe that it isn't important, but it is essential for our happiness and health. In this episode, I share Redefining Living’s well-being pillars to inspire you to build more brilliance into your life. To support you along with this podcast episode, I have created Redefining Living's well-being playbook; it rests on the seven interconnected pillars described here, exploring a more holistic view of mental and physical well-being that can lead to a higher quality of life. This new year took me on a journey into 2017. Something happened that year that struck a deep nerve within me as people were planning and preparing for the Christmas shenanigans. I sat quietly in my room thinking about my life before then. I didn’t have the zeal to set goals; I felt what was the point. Life felt more like a battlefield and an enemy to be conquered than a life to be enjoyed and savoured. I knew something had to change, and that something was how I approached my life.  In a flash, a question dropped in my spirit. The question felt strange because up until that moment, I’d never asked myself that question at least not with such intensity. I pondered this question for a week, from being scared to feeling excited and liberated! And so, in this episode 26, I want to have a conversation about why I say goodbye to goal setting and what I focus on instead.. Remember the analysis led by The World Health Organisation? That by 2030, depression, not heart disease, not diabetes, depression will be the single leading cause of disability globally. So, we are facing a world that is; for many of us and for many of our children often scary. That’s why it’s crucial that the people in your life and the things you allow either validates or violates your values. If the latter is your case, in no time, you’ll become part of what should or could have. (I hear God forbid). In my latest episode, Wisdom and Insight into the New Year, I share with you; tools to thrive in this rapidly changing world. I’ve learned that the key to your income level is not in your education or credentials, which explains in part why many people with no educational training rise to great success while just as many with every credential under the sun are easily replaceable like a commodity. Be valued for who you are, not what you do part 2 is a continuation of episode 23 where I shared the first question you must answer. In this episode, I share the two questions, an experience that changed the trajectory of my life and my top five tips to help you stay relevant as opposed to someone on payroll. There was a time I failed to build relationships with colleagues because I did not like them. I focused on doing a good job and kept talking about my track record at meetings or when I wanted to be considered for an influential project. My friend, it took me a long time to learn that focusing on my work alone made me appear like a "me too" product. It was a mistake. I was very naïve. I am sensing that this coming year is a year of flight for many people, it's a year of impact and in order to be valued for who you are and not what you do, you must answer three fundamental questions. I'd attempt to explore the first question in this episode. If there is any advice I would give to every person, regardless of who they are, it is this: speak your truth. Yes! Speak your truth and own it even though you’re the only voice in the room. I need you to understand that it’s dangerous to your relationships, your health and your well-being to repress your truth and it’s also impossible to love people from a place of resentment. In this episode, I share my personal experience of how I turned my relationships into a transformation school and the #5 tips you can adopt to embrace the discomfort that comes with speaking our truth. There’s something rejuvenating and liberating about taking your happiness into your own hands and understanding that behind all unkind, cruel, and vicious behaviour is someone in pain and their behaviour comes as a result of misdirected pain. If you’re tired of feeling beaten or bullied by others and you’d like to reclaim your sense of empowerment through love and compassion, in episode 21, Living and Working in Harmony with Emotionally Unstable People, I share tips that would help you find more peace, healing, and inner freedom. I am graced to handle this journal is available on Amazon:
I’ve come to understand that anger is a secondary emotion; you must uncover the primary emotion that gave rise to it, and these primary emotions are often the internal responses you attached to past events. The next time you find yourself triggered by someone’s comment or attitude, ask yourself these questions:  Will this situation produce patience in me if I endure it rather than run away?  Why does this person’s action stress me? Is it because they are mirroring my behaviour?  Why am I choosing to continue to interact with them? When you’re emotionally unstable, people can often be judgmental about your behaviour; they keep their distance or avoid you by all means without trying to understand your underlying pain. You’re likely not to be recommended for a promotion at work; if you run your own business, you may find it hard to keep customers. My friend, what good is there in holding on to bad memories anyway?  In this episode, I share my experience, signs to watch out for if you’re emotionally unstable and my seven tips for becoming emotionally stable.  @ RedefiningLiving
I am sensing that we’re about to enter a new shift in the spirit, a new season of expansion, growth and leadership but “feigned safety” may restrict this spiritual adventure. So many of the people I advise and coach and the women in my private group (His Lady) are also sensing and experiencing this shift – in fact, we prayed about it last week. I imagine you might also be sensing this shift too, whether you're conscious of it or not; that’s what I’m going to share with you. So, when does feigned security restricts spiritual adventure? I share with you four perspectives/insights. I hope this podcast gives you some grace and courage to leap into what is calling you. See you there! Aji
I had an amazing birthday tea-partay with seven fabulous ladies. On my way home that evening, I was relieving the experience - I felt truly understood and deeply known. We were able to bring out our”best selves” We shared our wittiest jokes and delved into cherished subjects seamlessly. We felt this warm swell of admiration for each other. I felt deep satisfaction listening to how my friends held me in such high regard; I was nourished and energised throughout the event. I believe that these are the experiences that fill our souls. So, I reflected on some of my past friendships and wondered why they were laced with tensions and conflicts. I wondered why they failed to regain their magic and fade out for no good reason. This episode is essentially a reminder of the pleasures and benefits of good friends; I hope these practices will bring your good friendship to a soulful one. @redefiningliving
