Dr. Alisar S. Zahr is the Director of Research and Clinical Development at Revision Skincare®. She is responsible for conducting clinical studies for new product launches. Plus, in her role, she collaborates with marketing, and Research and Development throughout every stage of a product’s lifespan, including conception, ideation, and ingredient innovation.
Dr. Zahr is considered a subject matter expert in formulation of sun-care products as well as anti-aging moisturizers. Throughout her career in the personal cosmetics industry, she has formulated and successfully brought products to the market, such as Neutrogena, Roc, Clean & Clear, Aveeno, and eltaMD. As evident from Dr. Zahr’s prior work experience, she is passionate about cosmetics and is focused on creating products for healthy, beautiful skin.
Dr. Zahr received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Villanova University and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, under the leadership of Dr. Michael Pishko. She has also received post-doctoral training at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) under the mentorship of Dr. Samir Mitragotri and at Schepens Eye Research Institute an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, Department of Ophthalmology under the mentorship of both Dr. Patricia D’Amore and Dr. Pablo Argueso. She has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and patented innovations while at PSU, UCSB, Schepens Eye Research Institute and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products.

In today's episode on The Beauty Standard, Nicole Nicole chats with Joshua Morgan. Joshua is the Co-Founder + CEO of Little Barn Apothecary. He is a twenty-one-year veteran of the luxury cosmetic, skincare, and spa industry. Joshua began his career as a makeup artist in 1999 which quickly led to numerous promotions over the course of several years. Having skillfully managed sales and marketing plans for brands like Laura Mercier, Giorgio Armani Beauty, and Jurlique, he added training and education to his repertoire by becoming the Vice President of Sales and Education of aromatherapy brand 21 Drops in 2014.
Since the debut of Little Barn Apothecary in January 2015, the brand has seen a significant increase in business and distribution, which he credits not only to LBA's beautiful portfolio of products but also to the incredible talent and passion behind it. “LBA is not just a product or a brand. It is a story, a personal story but one that resonates across our loyal consumers and brand partners and is the foundation of the product’s growing iconic status. Alexandra Clark’s culinary education began at a young age and was encouraged by her grandfather, who was known to eat two king-sized candy bars for lunch. Her wonder and enthusiasm as a youngster carried over into her formal education when she attended Michigan State University, studying Hospitality Business & Food Processing Technology. After receiving her chocolate certificate from The French Pastry School of Chicago, she left the country on a full-ride scholarship to New Zealand’s prestigious Massey University.
After traveling and studying around the world, Alex moved home to open Bon Bon Bon in 2013. Challenging the industry’s status quo, Alex and her team, known as The Babes Babes Babes, garnered national acclaim, including a nod by Forbes Magazine as one of ‘30 under 30” and one of the best chocolate companies by Washington Post, Vanity Fair, and Bloomberg.
Alex loves agriculture, design, hiking, and visiting Lake Michigan with her rescue dog, Lou.
