The heart is the operating system for all people, and with that operating system come certain foundational principles.
These principles when broken or not understood and followed lead to confusion, frustration, and an emptiness coupled with questions that set up roadblocks and traps in our lives all along the journey.
Morgan is the Author of Becoming a King and in his new book he breaks down and unpacks these principles to restore and acknowledge the foundations principles of a man's heart and how to go about living with the image of God.
He has also created a video series to help the listeners get a more working knowledge of his work through this book, that I highly recommend.
This was a very deep conversation and if you take your time to really hear and understand and internalize what Morgan discusses along with all other additional resources you will have some powerful discovery.
Trav Bell is a coach, podcaster, public speaker and bucket list thought leader.
We take a deep dive into some of the mindset behind what he has been mastering for the last twenty years and he shares a ton of great insight and nuggets behind how his bucket list mindset has helped tons and tons of people. He is a very people first person and it shows in his attitude and energy.
One of his motto's is " life is way to short" to not check off the items on your bucket list.
In this conversation we discuss;
- Positive psychology
- Work Life Blend
- Push v. Pull Marketing
- What people can do to initiate change in their lives
- Time Leadership
- much more
Gentleman, here in this episode I bring to you the first interview / conversation of the podcast with a down to earth and very humble man of God in Jarrett Samuels.
In this conversation we discuss the mindset behind why some men are still fighting an uphill battle in regards to stepping up in their lives and being a more complete man. We also hit on things like:
- Being more present as men
- Why obedience is good and in many cases necessary for our masculinity
- Insecurities in men
- Who do you give your best to, the job or your family.
- The power of association with other men
- Why effort can be more important than the how of things
- and much more.
If you've been thinking to yourself that there has got to be something more than just living day to day and feeling mucky and stuck. Than getting after some of the principles and mindsets discussed here will seriously help you out. As well as tapping into the power of association.
I mean, men! There is a reason why you cannot really get very good at sports and things like this all by yourself. you need at least ONE training partner.
Why?
To challenge you, to hold you accountable, to give you looks and perspective that you could not get on your own and to help you along in areas they have overcome that your looking to overcome. In this context its a "no brain-er". So, c'mon its time to step into your life and get involved.
To many men these days are living meek and mild. They have been told that masculinity is toxic and you need to stop this and don't do that and it is causing a major rift in the fabric of society. There is an element of life that requires the masculine energy and the leadership, discipline, and yes violence sometimes that a man provides and needs to be capable of. life was designed for a little danger, and rawness that a man provides but instead we are living with to many subdued and hesitant men.
So, how do we climb out of this funk. We empower one another man to man, to live passionately and to pursue purpose and meaning. To be excited and to seek happiness and truth and fun again.
WE EMPOWER ONE ANOTHER MAN TO MAN TO LIVE AGAIN!!
I thought a lot recently about what are some of the principles I brought into my life and took action on to separate myself from the common man. I came up with a list of 7 principles or 7 values to live by and adopt. Here they are:
1) Duty
2) Emotional Intelligence
3) Live w/ honor
4) Be Genuine / Authentic
5) Goals
6) Stand for something
7) Learn how to communicate
I break each one of these down and discuss them at length. They are all very crucial and important to delve into for yourself and see what applies and what you find works and is good for you and those you serve.
I will say this though, without a list like this your doing yourself a dis-service and not giving yourself the ability to achieve top notch results in the major domains of your life.
Why?
Simple, without these things what are you left with? nothing
Your left with nothing. nothing to live by, nothing to make decisions off of, nothing to strive for, nothing to track or evaluate. If your going to start elevating and upgrading your life start with some basic principles and develop them over time.

The reason certain societies and countries flourished and thrived is because of the values and principles they not only taught but LIVED BY.
At the end of the day it is not about what the people are AWARE of but what the people TOLERATE.
It is not about how the people TALK but how the people WALK that matters the most.
So how do you influence and effectively change the peoples actions and behavior for the better and in a non-domineering and controlling way?
Through the employment of good ole fashioned values.
by instituting the teaching of things like honor, respect, courage, selflessness, love, honesty, acceptance and so many others and then taking it to the next level and practicing these values on a daily basis.
Then holding one another accountable to these values.
There is the SECOND piece.
accountability -- both personally and of others.
There has to be accountability in order for anything to change. both natural and societal induced.
That is the way ahead.
Go back to teaching values, and systems for upright behavior and character.
hold yourself accountable first and then move on to others in your house, then your community, then your neighborhood, then your city, then your state, then your country.
The first step to leveling up your skills, mindset and capacity in every area of your life is to consume.
To consume information, content, courses and lessons that you have never consumed before. It is the basic essence of learning.
HOWEVER,
There is a huge gap between learning and application, and learning and results. In my experience its contribution and application that leads to real, long term, permanent growth.
It is easy to get caught up in consumption and the belief that what you need most is to consume more, but that is the furthest thing from the truth.
What you typically need more of is Action. You need to contribute.
Contribution is taking what your consuming and doing something with it, in a manner that directly correlates to your life.
So, if your reading a marriage book or listening to a marriage podcast. You take notes and take ONE of the notes or points and plan out how, when, where, you can apply that point to your marriage and boom you will have real insight, revelation, and growth.
Note:
I have created a network where you can do just that.. CONSUME
Its inside of an app called Mighty networks, and its free. Its a great resource and location for you to join me in the journey of pursuing excellence and leveling up our lives in every way.
In living a more fulfilled and passionate lifestyle.

The ability to get things done and achieve results is a highly sought after skill in today's society. To the point where, if you possess the skills of high achievement, time management, self management, and ultimately productivity you can do very well for yourself financially. It pays.
The problem is These skills are not just taught to everybody and anybody. You have to go out and seek the skill set. You will have to read the books and take the courses. Its no easy journey or easy process.
I will tell you this though, The management of chaos is the only game inside of this conversation that you need to master. The ability to simplify everything that you want to do and have the opportunity to pursue. Your ability to simplify your life and its targets and goals and chunk that clarity up into manageable and bite size pieces and then systematically and strategically take action on those items is the key to it all.
The idea is simple. If you can select the actions and commit to the objectives that will yield the highest result it will not only save you time and clear your schedule but it will PRODUCE.
Opportunity is both a blessing and a curse and you choose which. Just because there are infinite amount of options does not mean that they are all made equal. You must select the most priority and begin to live your life by design not by default.
So, SIMPLIFY and ACT. SIMPLIFY and ACT.
It is said by many high achieving people all over the world that the PURPOSE of life is expansion and improvement. The more difficult thing for people I would step out and say is not what is the purpose of life but more how do you fulfill your purpose once you do in fact discover it.
It is a bit of a double edged sword when it comes to becoming the ULTIMATE version of yourself. On one side you have figuring out what your purpose is and on the other you have now that I know, what do I do about it. My answer is this;
No matter which way you look at it, you are going to have to figure out the conundrum that is improvement and expansion. Your going to have to figure out how to produce results. Even if you are not the type that typically believes in personal growth. Results and progress is a part of life and to move forward is progress and everyone wants to move forward, the question is do they admit it or not.
Here, I lay out the factors and keys that I have discovered to expansion and Improvement.
It comes from looking at yourself in two different lights, 1) Old / current version 2) New / desired version
There are three things that the marketplace pays for,
1) Perspective
2) Skills
3) Value
When you break these three things down, they can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be. These things can work for you or against you. So if there is a goal you want to achieve and a direction you want to go, think of these things. Lets call it the Payout TRIFECTA. See where you are at in relation to the Payout trifecta in relation to what you want to do. So if you want to be a salesman, then ask yourself the following;
1) do I have perspective?
2) do I have skills?
3) Can I add Value and or Am I adding value?
If you're new to the entire game of Leadership, branding, influence etc. than you're going to want to SEEK out THE PAYOUT TRIFECTA in every area of your life. The interesting part of this piece is this:
- Awareness
- work ethic.
You first must realize and become aware that you need / want to engage in obtaining perspective, skills, and value in every area of your life. Then you need to WORK for it. When you knock on the door of opportunity is HARD WORK that answers. Be willing to work, and out work anyone in your field. That is how to obtain success.
Unfortunately, society has shifted to everything needs to be fast and easy or I am going to act like I do not care about it or want it because that makes me cool age. Which is actually a benefit for those who are okay with hard work and effort because it's easy to stand out when everyone around you wants to sink in and be complacent.
Get focused and Increase your work ethic, so that you can become skilled and that will bring you the success you desire.
What I have found is that there are two crucial components of the success formula: Passion & Purpose.
Passion is the life blood of activity, effort, drive, will, and so much more. A passion for life. a passion for something specific whatever. RAW PASSION is a crazy effective catalyst to your life. If you do not feel like there is any passion for life anymore than I recommend taking a day or two to search inside of yourself three things:
- What kind of person you TRULY want to become
- What its going to take to be that person
- How much will it cost
The other is Purpose. Purpose that deeper thing inside of your soul that you almost can not explain but its there. It is that feeling of you were called to something and that you are meant for something great that consumes you. It comes from outside of you and society. Its comes from a higher place, and I don't care what you call it but its a consistent, true source of wisdom and power that drives everything. otherwise you will fall for anything.
In a world where complacency and mediocrity dominate our youth and adult culture the only way out is by exposing yourself to something else. By getting outside of your comfort zone, telling the truth about who you are, what you have done, what you want to do, where you want to go, and who you want to become you will expose yourself to yourself and to others and find opportunities you have only ever dreamed about.
Have you ever felt pressure. I am talking about a pressure so heavy that you feel stuck, and you cant think about anything else other than things like; how is this going to turn out?, how am I going to do?, how did I do? This pressure unfortunately has become fairly normal for individuals who take life seriously and for people who want to win and succeed. The problem is not that you want to win and succeed but the fact that you want it so badly you forget that your human. You forget that you have feelings, emotions, setback, and failures. Your trying to HARD and its causing you to put so much pressure on yourself that its holding you back. Take action, let go of the results and of the performance mentality and just enjoy it. Have fun with everything your doing. STOP taking life so SERIOUS, and as I now know, you will live a more meaningful and happy life.
There is a simple formula that I discovered that when applied can help you identify where your at and truly help you bridge the gap between that place and where you want to go. Through patterns (habit), through mindset, through results. The conversation of effectiveness is far superior to the conversation of efficiency. Here you will discover how to become more effective.
Taking ownership of your life in every domain - Physical - Inner Being - Family - business is about accepting responsibility and being the leader. Being the forward thinker. It’s harder to take ownership because then when things go wrong their is nobody to blame but you. So what do most people do, they disengage and give up their responsibility so that they can blame someone else for their shortcomings. Rise above and assume responsibility and commit to change.
There is a trend in society right now called Disengagement! It’s for some reason no longer cool to try hard and to care about being the best or being good. It’s a small community of people that want to win and give their all no matter how big or small the task. Too much why does that matter going around. Let’s change at and hold ourselves and others to a higher standard
Life and the enemy have a funny way of throwing obstacles and roadblocks our way. What’s important though is not what happens to us but rather what we do about it that defines us and shapes our lives. In this episode I cover resiliency in a practical way and dive into the skills that should accompany resiliency so that you can commit to change and ultimately follow through!
We live in an age where maturity and values like civic duties, integrity, honesty are not “cool”. We live in an age of sedation where we would rather check out than check in and face ourselves and our problems. This episode is me laying out the problem so that you can become aware and move forward!
Marriage is tough on today’s society and especially the young newly weds growing up in a society that frowns on marriage in the traditional sense. My wife and I just simply have a discussion on some stuff we have encountered over the years! Enjoy
