Today I am talking about uncertainty. We have some outcomes we are waiting for in the country, and people get very anxious when we are faced with this kind of uncertainty. You will learn why that it, what you are really afraid of when you don’t know what the result will be, and how you can move forward even if you never get the answer you are waiting for.
If you are a dance teacher or an athletic coach you have probably heard the question, “where is this supposed to hurt?” Well, in today’s episode I am talking about purposeful pain vs. pain with no purpose. The truth is there is no progress without discomfort. If you are comfortable you are not growing. But, there is a difference between the kind of pain that is a warning sign, whether physically or emotionally, and the kind that is required to reach our goals.
In this episode I am talking about what it takes to become a master at something. What does it mean to have achieved excellence, and how do we get there? What you will learn: The four stages of knowing What Neuroplasticity is, and how it affects what you learn and how you learn it. The role your thoughts play in all of this. Hope you enjoy. And it you are looking to take a deeper dive into anything you hear on the podcast book a consult to find out how we can work together. https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=20286746
33. Worth vs. Value

33. Worth vs. Value

2020-10-1616:45

This week I talk to you about worth vs. value. I have had too many conversations with people that confuse the two. And it is wreaking havoc on their financial lives. The good news is that you can clean all of this up, and once you do, you will be on the road to making more money than you even know what to do with if that is what you want.  Most of us believe that others determine our worth. But it's not true. We are 100% worthy of love, joy, happiness, and all that other good stuff just because we are a human living on this planet.  We conflate our economic value with our self worth, and that screws us over every time. You are not your accomplishments, and what someone is willing to pay you means nothing about your worthiness.  Listen today to discover the difference between worth/worthiness and economic value. This one idea can change the entirety of your life.
Today I am open up the door on a conversation about money. What are your thoughts about money? Do you think money is inherently good or bad? I am going to share how your thoughts about money affect your current financial situation, and what you can do to change your relationship with money.
Who are you? How you answer this question makes up your identity. What do you think about when you think of yourself. In todays show I am expanding on last weeks topic around how we see ourselves. We get to define ourselves in whatever way we want. But be careful about what you say to yourself about yourself because it affects how you show up un the world and the results you are able to create.
In today's episode I am pulling apart the "starving artist" narrative we have been fed our entire lives. These kinds of ideas permeate our culture and posit that living as an artist, while enjoyable, is no way to make a "good' living. Whatever that means. So, the question is, do you identify as a starving artist? Do you believe you have to sacrifice for your art? Do you think that the only way to make money as an artist is to "sell out"? If you have thought any of these things you have to listen to today's episode.
In todays episode I am welcoming a very special guest, Lauren Adams. Lauren is an accomplished Master teacher and highly sought after choreographer and has been teaching for the top conventions in the world for the past 20 years. She is also my best friend. We are sitting down to discuss her latest creative endeavor her virtual workshop series Activate. We discuss how Activate came to be, what it is evolving into and our very exaciting up and coming collaboration with Martha Nichols. If you love to talk dance, art, nature and reality TV you are going to love this conversation. In the current climate a lot of us are wondering what the trajectory of our careers looks like. This has driven people to look for alternative ways to make money while we wait for the world to balance out into a new normal. Today I am talking about how you already have everything you need right now to make money as your own boss. You are your side hustle. Don’t let someone else decide what your financial future holds. On today’s episode I am talking about how to get things done faster. This is the final episode in this series I have been doing on how to get stuff done. And if you have been following along and have been getting clearer on how to identify your why and find the commitment to take massive action this tool is going to be the key to how to get things done faster and throw out that to do list.
I love this topic because I am so guilty of getting stuck in passive action. If you are like me and you want to get yourself unstuck, and learn how to take massive action you are going to love this episode. www.chrishale.co
This topic is relevant for everyone. We all at some point or another come up against our own selves when trying to accomplish our goals. Inaction is an action and it doesn’t produce results. But you can overcome that and I am going to talk you through why it is happening and how you can overcome it. www.chrishale.co
This week we are talking about focus, and where we create our results from. I talk about the different between past and future focus, and how to overcome a limited idea of what is possible in for us. www.chrishale.co
Today we are going to talk about how to get anything done. The solution is really simple but it is not easy. The key to everything in our life is managing our minds. In this episode you will learn how to get clear on how to manage the impulse to put things for later, and how to cultivate the feelings necessary to commit to out goals. www.chrishale.co
In this week's episode, I am looking at how we view other people's responses to the current climate and social issues that we are facing right now. How can we look at our own minds with a sense of curiosity that will help us move forward when the relationship seems hinged on their response or lack of one.
Join me today and learn how you can be excited about anything in your life. I am revisiting the conversion about goals and taking it to the next level. Get connected to what drives us to get the results we want in any moment no matter what is happening in your life.
Today I am talking about the benefit of coaching. Coaching has changed my life and I truly believe that everyone can benefit from working with one. Coaching helps you answer questions that have you stuck and find blind spots you never knew were there. Coaching is about unlocking the power that is already in you. You already have everything you and and all the answers. Coaching uncovers that and helps you to take more productive action.
This question blows my mind. What if this was the thought that we had when we want to achieve a goal and it would feel better to hang out on instagram instead of taking action? How many times a day do you say yes to someone else? What could you accomplish if you believed that you were worth saying yes to? That is exactly what I talk about in this episode and how saying yes to myself was the best choice I ever made. Additional Resources: https://www.amazon.com/Year-Yes-Dance-Stand-Person/dp/1476777128

18. Listener Q&A!!!!

2020-05-1523:28

Today is a departure from our regular format. Today I am answering your questions. See how I apply thought work to some of the common issues that are coming up for all of us at this time. Q1: How are you mitigating injury via Zoom, especially with 12 year olds who don’t know their placement or good vs bad pain as thoroughly yet??? Q2: How can we help our students manage disappointment during this time? For my studio in particular, quarantine started exactly one week before our first competition, so they didn’t get to compete even once. I’m especially struggling with my 11th and 12th graders. They are working hard but I think they are struggling to get past the hump of missing out on some of their final moments of dance with their team. Q3: Chris do you have any suggestions on how to prepare girls for college? Interview, auditions, how to know what direction of dance etc? Q4: Why is collecting tuition and creating a profitable and sustaining dance studio so difficult? I notice that one of the biggest complaints from myself and other studio owners is having issues with parents not paying. It seems like they don’t value our service and would rather pay for other things like vacations but claim not to be able to afford to pay for dance class.
Today I am talking about the great classes I am having on Zoom, and I share some of my favorite things that have come from this time.  Clue in Quarantine : https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/VIDEO-Michael-Urie-Brandon-Uranowitz-Brynn-OMalley-and-More-Featured-in-CLUE-FROM-HOME-THE-DINING-ROOM-20200506?fbclid=IwAR3RXQAYJJmax3Q_qpkc6b6euSF5hriLjLdUwxeBCNMxIymX4L8lBfMsKKA Kara Lowentheil Podcast  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bonus-podcast-with-brooke-castillo/id1229434818?i=1000473635288
